President Biden has accomplished much. I think (hope) this Address will soon be followed by the announcement that he is seeking a second term in the Oval Office. I have not for one moment regretted voting for Joe Biden.![]()

I have concerns about a President being 82 to 86 years of age for his term. If it means Kamala being the first ever female in the Oval, then fine.

No, he is absolutely correct for his concern. Anybody who has a parent or grandparent that age no matter how "sharp" they might be would ever think they would be able to handle the responsibility and pressure of being POTUS.

Wrong sir, look up the meaning of ageist. It says unfairly discriminatory against somebody because of their age. President Biden has forgotten names of Cabinet members and has called his VP President Harris. He also forgot the name of the Pentagon. President Biden called out for looking for Congresswoman at a bill signing event and she had been killed in car accident earlier in the year. Quite often, President Biden looks lost and not sure where to go after he makes a speech. Sadly, there are many more examples.
In other words, President Biden has given people cause for concern and is not being unfairly judged. My mother died in her early 80's and was "sharp as a tack" so I know everyone ages differently. I judge people as individuals not collectively, maybe you should do the same.

Expressing concern for an octogenarian doing a high-pressure job is not ageist. That's ridiculous. As far as I'm concerned, President Biden has already taken one for the team and fullfilled his main function in getting Donald Trump out of office. Asking anything more is not fair to him. He thought he had retired in 2017. I suspect he actually agrees with me, and has no intention of running again. He's just withholding that information because he knows he will become a lame duck. The vultures will start circling.

I love Joey Robinette. He has done so much for the American people and being a white man, he is getting more done than my favorite President, Obama. I care about him which is why I would love for him to retire and enjoy his family. That is the sole reason why I don't want him to run in 2024. But, if he wants to and his family backs him, that's great. His record since 2020 stands for itself. Incredible.
He will easily beat Dump but DeSantis will be tough. He is bats*it (but so is the rest of the GOP) and he is much younger. People do vote for vitality, and you cannot fight aging. I wish the excellent Gov. Newsom would be our candidate so Joey can get some sleep and enjoy his ocean front beach house!

Among a list of remarkable individuals invited by the White House as guests tonight, are these three. All guests "personify issues or themes to be addressed by the President in his speech".
RUTH COHEN: Holocaust survivor who was liberated from Auschwitz-Birkenau.
GINA AND HEIDI NORTONSMITH: Plaintiffs in a case that led to Massachusetts becoming the first State in the nation to legalize same-sex marriage.
BONO: Singer and activist in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Neither Biden or Trump are fit to be President. Period.

I just want a pair of candidates under 50. Let's get DeSantis vs. Buttigieg for 2024!

Ah, ageism arugement.
It is scientifically proven that people age and naturally decline as such. That’s a simple fact.
For those who think it’s ageist to not want someone in their mid 80’s as President, how do you feel about mid 20’s?

The GOP is pulling away from #45 because of the mess he did with the midterms. His popularity keeps dwindling. I hate DeSantis as much as #45, but the GOP needs to dump Donny altogether at this point if they want a shot at 2024.

The GOP might be pulling away, but Trumps support is just as strong as ever with his supporters.
He only needs 30% of the vote in a crowded primary field to get the nomination again.
If Desantis wants to be president without Trump tearing him down, all he has to do is wait four years.

Yeah, none of that is true. If you have ever read the completely unhinged, delusional comments on the NYPost about Trump, they are done with him. They want a person that cares about the GOP and he is a 3 time loser. DeSantis is a winner and he will be the candidate. And after that happens, Trump will run as an Independent just to be that selfish sociopath we all know he is and sink them completely. Thus, making us winners once again.

And just this morning in the NYT
DeSantis’s Challenge: When, and How, to Counterattack Trump
As the former president lobs insults and calls him “Ron DeSanctimonious,” Gov. Ron DeSantis is carefully avoiding conflict. But if he runs for president as expected, a clash is inevitable.

The absolute best case scenario would be DeSantis wins the (R) primary, Trump who can't possibly accept being defeated by DeSantis will run a third party campaign and they will split the right wing vote allowing a Democratic candidate to coast to what hopefully should be a pretty easy victory if they don't do something to screw it up..
Biden's done a decent enough job given the circumstances he inherited and i voted for him but I agree with the concerns about someone in their mid 80's in the one of the most stressful, taxing jobs in the world. I'd love to see a compelling candidate emerge that Biden would be comfortable getting behind. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any indication that Harris is ready to be that person.
