Mondo's attitude with Heidi in the work room was very surprising. I'm glad he got over it and rallied. Andy and Mondo had very similar aesthetics for this challenge, which was kind of interesting. I didn't care much for April's designs. They didn't look like "active wear" (which was also a complaint about Gretchen's work) and to me, they looked a bit odd and sloppy. I'm getting a little tired of her asymmetrical black angles and penchant for weird shorts. Gretchen's looks were just awful. Those bicycle shorts under the scrunchy skirt looked like her girdle was showing. That was heinous. And those turbans! Good grief! I liked Michael's hoodies and I think they would fly off the shelves. I sort of wanted one for myself. Honestly, his biggest crime was straying too far from the original color palette. Christopher's stuff was just terrible. The right person went home.

As for Ivy...she's just a conniving bitter troublemaker. You could tell she had just been waiting for Michael to say the right thing to bring up the alleged "cheating" now that she had nothing to lose. Brilliant job on the editing where she talked about believing in karma. That was classic! The producers made it very clear how they feel about Ivy. She had plenty of chances to redeem herself and step back from her petty vendettas, but ultimately, she decided to give the producers as much ammunition as possible to make herself look like an insufferable vindictive bitch. And her clothes sucked. When they weren't boring, they were unflattering. Even if Michael had been eliminated earlier, she would never have gotten any further in the competition.

Seriously, when are we going to see a Snuggie challenge? I want to see what Mondo would come up with.

Mondo is from Here in Denver. I have been told I have seen him out but I don't remember. Our local PBS has a show that is featuring him this Sunday night. He is reporting on Fashion week and they are shooting in his Denver studio to talk about his beginnings. They usually post their shows online. If they post this I will put up the link when it is up.

THAT was AWESOME!!

I finally got caught up with everything tonight and had always spotted Mondo as one of the finalists, if not the winner from the second I saw him.

And yes, the needle in the eye was PERFECTION!




And, it makes me want to wear saftey glasses at work tomorrow....

Yeah- I liked his collection better than Gretchen's. Thought hers was a little boring. His reaction was definitely a little over the top but making it to the final 4 is quite an accomplishment.

poor Michael C. i feel for him. at one point i did think maybe he's going too far and ruining a happy moment for the 3 going to Fashion Week. but it was excruciating to see his pain. i hope he'll keep going. his final-challenge dress moved like a dream.

His meltdown was painful to watch, and very sad. I would rather see his collection , then Gretchen's. Hope MONDO wins it.

I will say, no matter what her motive was, I'm glad to see Gretchen adjust her attitude in regards to the other contestants during all that Ivy drama, and that she, at least on the surface, seems to have re-evaluated Michael Costello's talent.

I can only imagine how hard the decision on the final three really was for the judges. All four of the contestants held back their best work, and I think Andy is damn lucky that that bikini-capelet didn't push him out. I think if Michael had sent at least one piece in a different color down that runway he could have taken Andy's spot.

I was kind of afraid of the post-script that could have easily followed Michael's break down after he was eliminated. Hopefully he's since pulled himself back together and is back at work doing what he loves.

aea -- I totally agreed....I had concerns of something drastic yet to come....and I rewatched the clips from next week to make sure I saw him in them!

While I felt bad, I wanted to smack him a little and yell at him to grow up, that he doesn't answer to his parents anymore. For goodness sake, he has a child!!!

He'd worry they'd have him move home and get married again?? Who ARE these people?

When the judges started fighting among themselves, I knew Mondo was screwed.

I'm no fashion expert, but Mondo's was the only one with any spark or life to it. Over the top maybe, but still. Both Gretchen and Andy were pretty monochromatic and while I get the decision in terms of wearability and marketability, they're definitely not awarding creativity.

You must not know what's hip, what's now, or where fashion is going.

And, aren't those April's diapers?
