When she has one too many, does she get white girl wasted?

I vote Laura Linney for the film version. Seriously, take another look, perfect. They can even modify the title of her Showtime series, "The (Really) Big C."

Ha! That IS great.

So, one other facet of this story we haven't discussed was briefly mentioned in the Daily Mail article: one of her adoptive brothers choosing to leave their parents and move in with Rachel. This has obviously created a lot of tension between the parties:

She has also spoken about her 'black sons' - but her mother told CDAPress.com that one of those boys is Izaiah Dolezal - who is, in fact, one of four infants Rachel's parents adopted in the 1990s.

Izaiah, now 21, has since gone to live with Dolezal and no longer speaks with his adopted parents.

The Washington Post reported that the disagreement over Izaiah appears to have driven the family apart more than her claims about her race.

'I can understand hairstyles and all that,' Zach Dolezal said of his sister. 'Saying her brother is her son, I don't understand that.'

And about That Hair!

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

No, they have to do multiple actresses like they did with Judy Garland and Bob Dylan biopics.

Laura Linney starts, then Jennifer Beals or Maya Rudolph takes over

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Kara Brown is hilarious on Jezebel: "This story has the distinct honor of being both incredibly offensive, yet not at all offensive, as well as hilarious."

That nails the complexities right there!

Might this be as simple as someone who lied on her employment application because she thought that being bi-racial would help her land the job? Now that it's been blown up into a media story, it may be taking on profound insinuations she never expected. If she had some statement to make about being transracial, wouldn't she have articulated that instead of walking away when asked if her parents were white?

It's been fascinating following this. As scandals go, it's juicy without being too salacious. Even the reaction I've seen to it hasn't been all that harsh. I think most people see a woman who meant well, but had a benevolently (and quasi-racistly) inappropriate manifestation of that. The fact that the NAACP put out such supportive statement makes me want to see her get help, more than anything.

Surely to heaven those amazing "natural" curls have to be on a wig, right?! I have natural white girl curls. LOTS of them. I would pay a LOT to get that kind of control over them.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
