This is from this mornings Page Six Magazine.
Actor Robert Wagner is finally ready to open up about the drowning of his wife Natalie Wood 27 years ago. The Hart to Hart star was in NYC last week, where he was recording the audio version of his memoir, 'Pieces of my Heart' (out September 23). A rep for Harper Entertainment says Robert provides specific details of what happened aboard his yacht,Splendor, the night Natalie died.He speaks for the very first time about his argument with Natalie's 'Brainstorm' co-star Christopher Walken (who was on the boat),the moment he discovered his wife missing and the agony of that long night during the search for her."His heart-wrenching account will put to rest any lingering suspicions of what went on that night," says an inside source.

Why now? And why in book form? Did he run out of money or something?
He is not getting any younger and he probably is tired of people speculating.I have heard people actually suggest RJ had something to do with it. Enough time has passed and he figures why not now? Money could also be a factor, but the man is loaded. I doubt he needs the money. Interesting to hear what Walken has to say about this.

If he just wanted to end the talk and speculation, he could have done an interview on the subject with any news outlet. They all would have clamored for it.
The fact is, there's no other reason to buy his memoir except for that story. So yes, it's about money. Kind of appalling.
There could be anyone of a number of reasons as to why he's finally telling what happened. Now that he is an older man, it would make sense for an autobiography to come out, rather than when he was in his 40's. He's beyond loaded.....real estate investments, ownership rights of many tv shows, including "Charlie's Angels" and the film versions, and other investments.

So what if it is about money? He was there. He has a right to talk about it how and when he wants.
Unless you think he killed her. Then I could see how think it's distasteful.
Is he going to admit that he was too drunk and mad at his wife to save her life?
I wait with interest to see what he has to say about this. There was a lot written at the time, not much of it good. The whole thing stank of cover up, and Chris Walkens star literally disappeared.
OF course it's about money, it's always about money.
Nevertheless, I can't wait to hear what has to say. Who knows how true it is, but still, it'll be interesting to hear.

I love this comment from an inside source that, "His heart-wrenching account will put to rest any lingering suspicions of what went on that night."
Perhaps just me, but I doubt it. Usually those type of "accounts" just leave me with more questions. I'll believe what he says just about as much as I believe William Shatner's account of his wife's drowning.
PS - I'm not aware of Robert Wagner having any connection to "Charlie's Angels".

Robert Wagner has more than once helped young artists trying to break into a Hollywood profession. In an industry that so often seems to chew up and spit out aspiring talent, it is very comforting to have a man like Mr. Wagner stand on your behalf when he felt that you had been treated unfairly.
What does this have to do with the book ? I have no idea. I just wanted to say that there is more to Mr. Wagner's personal life than the death of Natalie Wood.
All about money and only a way to get people to buy the book. What a crock of ****!

Given the pace of today's world, I wonder how many actually remember Natalie - or care.
I recently had the opportunity to chat with Mr. Wagner, and he seemed rather content in his approaching dotage. I wonder how many demons lurk for him to have taken this path.
After all this time? For what? I wouldn't believe anything he has to say anyway. If he was guilty of anything at all (even if it was just being drunk and unable to save her) , do you really think he's going to admit that? Please....
Why do we care? (though I would like to read the book...)
Momma Calvin still thinks Walken did it.
Of course, she's also convinced that LBJ was the Kennedy assassination mastermind.
Ugh...can't wait to get a copy.

I've always thought that Natasha walked in on Walken and Wagner having full, man-on-man sex, freaked out and in the ensuing fracas, Walken inadvertently pushed her overboard, leaving her dead, Walken crazy and Wagner with a secret.
Somehow I doubt that's what this book will reveal.

Natalie Wood looked like a good example of a beautiful Belarussian girl. "The girl next door" so to speak. The one living in the flat above or below you, or whom you might see on the Metro or walking on Prospect Skorina.

I always felt so awful for her regarding how she spent her last moments - imagine your worst, most terrifying fear becoming reality.

PalJoey--so funny you should say that. An older friend of mine who claims to have inside knowledge of the situation says that the scenario you presented is exactly what happened. I have never really believed her, but ironic you should write that.

Calvin-
I'm going to agree with Momma Calvin on the LBJ thing.
