Presidents Age Quickly, Says Researcher
President-elect Barack Obama is a youthful-looking 47-year-old, but he may face accelerated aging while in office, The Washington Post reports. Dr. Michael Roizen, chair of the wellness institute at the Cleveland Clinic and co-founder of RealAge.com, speculates that presidents get two years older, in biological terms, every year they’re in office.

Oh, Arts, don't worry...there will be more inauguration-related merchandise available than either you or I could imagine! You should see the stores in DC now!
I actually picked up a Barack Obama finger puppet the other day, but it was $9.99, so I passed.

Malia is going to be a true beauty...I'm talking runway model height and looks. Overall they're a beautiful family, and their obvious affection makes them even better looking. Having said all that, Jill Biden is probably the best looking one on that platform today.

Aretha's hat made me smile.
And I actually liked Michelle Obama's outfit. It was different, but it was refreshing.

Posted: 1/20/09 at 4:44pmCan you imagine how old Bush would look if he had actually worked all 8 years?

No one has mentioned Barbara Bush!
Isn't it interesting that GHB and GWB have aged, but their wife/mother looks exactly the same? Hmmm. Maybe having your hair go "old" prematurely actually works in your favor as you get older. I'll have to think about that.
Okay. I thought about it. I'm not doing it.

Posted: 1/20/09 at 4:56pmWell, I never thought I'd mention Barbara Bush and Elaine Stritch in the same sentence, but that comment about her aging early, then staying the same made me think of Stritch.

I heard one of the commentators say, "Not every president has left office in disgrace."
I loved that.

Looks like a pretty good turnout to me.
#42re: Shallow Reflections on the Inauguration, DC and So Forth
Posted: 1/20/09 at 5:05pmMy, Obama has a wide stance!
#43re: Shallow Reflections on the Inauguration, DC and So Forth
Posted: 1/20/09 at 5:05pmThat's my point. Why, with so many people there, are there so many empty seats in the stands for the parade?
#44re: Shallow Reflections on the Inauguration, DC and So Forth
Posted: 1/20/09 at 5:07pmPerhaps the cold?
