No, we are not surprised. Merrily is a very underratted show, with a fantastic score. It has far more depth than FORUM, and honestly I like the music as much a ITW. So SOME of us like it a lot, yes better than the others. WE don't think anything, you seem to like the others better, several of us like Merrlily better, it is not shocking.
I have a hard time with entire heirarchical structure here, I for one LOVE ALL these shows.

I've personally never seen it, and I've heard it's very underratted. I'm not saying it's a bad show (nor am I saying it's good, I couldn't truly make that distinction). I'm not shocked, just a little surprised, especially since ...Forum and ITW are two of his most popular shows. I'm sure there are many people who are dissipointed that it only has 22. I'd also imagine that there are also others who are surprised like me. Not shocked, surprised.

Besides, it's Sondheim (and it's not Bounce), so it has to have at least some leval of greatness to it.

I have now seen it twice, after the first time I may have been the first to try to vote it off. (Although, I still love the score) I thought it was terrible.

Then I saw a FANTASTIC production, everything clicked and it was both enjoyable and full of deep meaning and intent. It seems as though, for the most part, those who have been visiting this thread are not casual Sondheim fans for whom the "lighter" shows are the end, and even the currently running show is not running away with it.
There are many levels of Sondhead.

I am now voting against COMPANY, not because of a distaste for it, but because I can't choose and it has the least points already.

Well, I've never gotten the chance to see Merrily as of yet, but if I ever get one, I will (though as I like to consider myself a "Sondhead," I probably was going to anyway). In the meantime, I'll just keep voting as normal.
