Schadenfreude is fun.
Who'll take over?

The Republican party in the House showed the country once again they are a "clown" show. Personally, I am rooting for McCarthy and a few of his supporters in the House to resign which could give the Democrats the majority and Jeffries would be Speaker. That would be perfect for a scum bucket like Gaetz. I understand it would not happen, but it would be so much fun to watch that smug look from Gaetz to disappear.

God help us if they allow #45 to be speaker for a short term. What a circus!

As stupid as that sounds, nothing the Republican party does would surprise me. They are the gift that keeps giving to the Democratic party. My gut feeling is Jim Jordan will win because Scalise is too close to McCarthy and is fighting cancer.

Trump as speaker would be less of a clown show and more of the activation of “stand back and stand by.” I’m betting there would be an immediate attempt to remove Biden and Harris so that they could reappoint Trump, and if impeachment didn’t work, they’d revive Jan 6 to remove them by force.
Trump being named Speaker is honestly a more apocalyptic scenario than Trump being elected president.

You do understand the Senate has to convict the POTUS and or VP before they get thrown out of office with over 60 votes required. In other words, not going to happen.

Steve Scalise is scum.

Jim Jordan has won the GOP nomination for House Speaker. But stay tuned.

All we need is 5 GOP members who want to completely f*ck their own party to nominate Hakeem Jeffries who is amazing and a true leader. This is so embarrassing for them and they just lost the House, Senate and the Presidency next year. Delicious but completely disgusting for America.

That would just be wonderful to see the smile wiped off the face of that smug jerk Gaetz. Republicans are so inept they can f*ck up a free lunch. Never seen a political party that can grasp defeat from the jaws of victory as many times as the Republican party (remember the red wave -lol). Pelosi had very slim majority at times also, but you did not see this type of thing happening to her. She knew how to keep AOC and the "Squad" in line when it mattered. I wonder if Republicans understand how important the role of Speaker is and by ousting McCarthy without a replacement ready to be the next Speaker, they are hurting the country. Legislation has now basically come to a standstill and remember everyone that the Speaker is in line after the VP to be next POTUS if something tragic occurred.

If something awful like that did happen, Patty Murray would become the first female president. A democrat.

Zeppie, I gotta tell you I BURST out laughing when I first read that. Absolutely hilarious. When I read it to my darling Saint Lucian Husband (who doesn't vote) he smiled and said "I love it". So, thank you for the joy, with everything that is going on in DC it's nice to have a light moment because, at the moment, they still can't get their sh*t together. How long can this go on for? Glad you got my message ![]()

Sending "messages" to people telling them to ignore another poster is at the level of elementary school bullying.
Want to be banned again, Sutton?
That said, it does not bother me in the slightest. I hope you two live happily ever after, and that your Saint Lucian husband does not get jealous. Have a great week.

Who would have imagined 20 years ago that the spawn of Dick Cheney would be the only lunatic not in the room?

I may take a quick trip to Washington DC and put my "hat in the ring" to become the next "Speaker of the House". I would promise that I would be just as incompetent as the Republican Congressman/woman currently in the House which means I would be perfect person to lead them. I would add that I would promise the American people one thing and then do exactly the opposite just as well as them. The people in the House would not have to worry that I would do the right thing about the budget, I would push legislation to increase the national debt just like the other drunken sailors in Congress. The thing that may cinch my win as "Speaker of The House would be my promise if elected my first act as "Speaker" would be to hit Gaetz over the f****** head with the gavel.
