Posted: 8/25/11 at 1:42amAbsolutely NOT "as in hot and..." I just feel it looks like a random, candid shot. Lips together, hair hanging, squinting eyes. She just looks tired. Surely, they had other photos to choose from. This just looks like 20 other poses we've seen over the years on other cd covers. I expected something classy. Something special. Never a raving beauty, she has been photographed beautifully at times. Or how about a drawing or sketch, like on the Forum album. I just was hoping for something unique, like she herself is.

You mean that the picture has been so airbrushed that she looks younger now than when she was in Funny Girl on Broadway?

If I recall correctly, the bland cover photo of this bland new album is taken from her recent book of "How I Wasted My Life Decorating Houses that 12 People Are Allowed to See."
She was so busy that she could not spare the time to pose for new pics [God forbid with her close chums, the Bergmans] for this project of 10 dull ballads.

I don't think it is an old photo but Streisand should have had someone like Greg Gorman or Bruce Weber or Patrick DeMarchlier take a nice in studio portrait of her. I also think it would have been nice to have Alan and Marilyn in the picture with her.

Reminds me of what they did to Brad Pitt at the end of "Benjamin Button."
Actually, what creeps me out is one of the Flash ads using this photo has her head turn slightly as it comes up. Gives it that "Exorcist" look of Regan's head coming around while she's on the bed.
Scary!!!

At least she doesn't look like a Bene Gesserit from Dune.
As for the current album, it looks like a fan photo to me. Like there was absolutely no thought behind it. Pale skin, pale hair, in front of a pale background with little regard to staging or styling. Either they had only one chance to take a photo or the rejected shots must be the stuff of nightmares. I can't get over that hair. But then, her hair usually looks weird on her album covers.

Yeah, especially on that picture you posted. Green hair? What was she thinking?

THE WAY WE WERE album cover I believe features her in black but the way your light hits the cover makes it seem green. Although my glasses are tinted so who knows. . . :)
Over the years some of her covers are quite striking; lately, you want to strike her for how ridiculous the covers [and recordings] are.
Tony Bennett's "Duets 2" releases in about 1 month; wanna bet this will outsell hers and earn him a few more Grammys?

Okay, that made me laugh out loud!
Now at a book store near you...

Mister Matt, you're right, it does look as if not much thought went into it...but seeing as she agonized over the shade of peach for the liner notes (as per her TV interview from this past Sunday), I'm sure that can't be the case!
I'm not too keen on the shot myself, it looks like she's standing outside of a motel or something. Her last album was had a much nicer cover.
