Russell was such a sore loser! I am glad he's gone.
RIGHT?!?!?! I COULD NOT BELIEVE he said that!! And than again at the challenge in front of the other tribe! Man, that was stupid!
Of course, Phil, the federal secret agent can tell when people are lying! He is TRAINED to know these things, so he would have figured it out! He KNOWS things about people and is the one who DOES things to keep the tribe together. He is a former FEDERAL AGENT. Attention MUST BE PAID!
(I think I would barf if I had to watch his junk swing around out of his droopy drawer pink tighty-whities!)
Hilarious.
Secret Agent Man
The ending was a little disappointing as I was hoping Phillip would be voted out, but it was a smart move to keep their numbers and know they can still cut Phillip loose. It's just nauseating watching him. Rob is really playing smart. A bold move will have to be made if these guys want any chance at beating him.
Russell cracks me up. Just because his teammates weren't playing by his rules, doesn't mean they weren't playing the game. Can't stand him either. Thankfully he's not on the jury either.
Watching Russell snivel about losing was icing on the cake. Knowing Russell didn't even make the jury was sprinkles on the icing.
It's really... interesting how both tribe's big alliances are now all like "it's OK- we have the numbers" (i.e., with the 6 v. Stephanie and Krista), because none of them are realizing "Hey- we're going to have to turn against ourselves really soon!"
I want to see someone get smart already and start forming more layered alliances. It's really going to annoy me if it's just Rob and whoever's leading the other tribe kicking people out of their alliance one by one.
That said, Russell's eviction was sweet :)
I seem to be the one person here who actually liked Russell, but that's beside the point. Russell said in an interview that in their contracts it says they're not allowed to throw challenges. Anyone know if this is true? If it IS true, he has a legitimate gripe.
I still think throwing the challenge was a damn stupid move. They REALLY couldn't just wait to vote him out until they lost a challenge?

I thought I could not dislike Russell anymore until I read this:

I don't think it's true. There's nothing like that in the rules that have been posted on Reality Blurred. That's not to say that it's not a rule now, but you'd think someone in the group would point out it was a violation if they were thinking of throwing the challenge.
Technically, people throw individual immunity challenges all the time, like any time someone makes a deal with another play during them or leaves the challenge to eat food Jeff brings out.
Survivor Rules

If it's true, then it is a new rule. Throwing challenges has happened before both as an individual and as a tribe. Russell is just throwing his usual tantrum at losing again. He's the Westboro of Survivor. Russell Phelps.
LOL. Plus if they weren't allowed to throw challenges, the players would never be so open with what they were doing, even talking to the camera about it.
He is a big, fat, egotistical cry-baby who LOST!
...and has to kick sand in the faces of the other kids as he leaves the sandbox.
I think half of his interview (in the link posted by beautywickedlover) is bs. I don't believe they edited out Jeff being sad that he lost. He can't be gracious about Ralph doing exactly what he did in earlier seasons - finding the Idol without a clue. He is making up stuff about rules. He is a TERRIBLE player who has NEVER WON and WILL NEVER WIN.
It's time for him to take his hideous puss and go home and disappear. His 15 minutes are more than up.

I'm glad that one of Russell's sidekcks got voted off. There was no point in keeping them around.

Judging by Jeff Probst's reaction in that preview I think Matt's winning streak is coming to an end on "Redemption Island."

SO glad Matt won!
He deserves to win the entire thing at this point!
So, I decided to check out the Live Tweeting
www.cbs.com/jeffprobst
It's actually entertaining. Jeff's live commentary on the show.
The part that makes my brain hurt is the scroll of tweets on the right side of the page. But, Jeff's comments are interesting and fun.
Jeff is letting us know that all of the contestants get sunscreen, a med box with band-aids and condoms. Yep. Condoms.
oooh! Good Tweet:
from Jeff:
"For following me tonight, you are the first to hear that next week...we merge. So the winner of the duel goes back into the game."
Fingers crossed that Matt gets to return to the game. He deserves it!
A merge already?? Seems way too soon for that, doesn't it?
Has anyone else noticed that Sarita looks like Kristen Wiig?
I'm getting a little tired of Rob finding all of the clues and then going on and on about how many times he's played the game, etc. You'd think the powers that be would change things up just a bit.
These are the most boring-to-unpleasant group of people to play this game since the season when the racist dude and the used car salesman/porn star were the final two. If it doesn't get more exciting within the next few episodes, I'm about to call it a season.

I think the powers that be are as enamored of Rob as Probst is.
I wonder if Redemption Island will be done when the person comes in for the merge, or if they'll find a way to keep it going. I hope it's just done, but I wouldn't put anything past this show.
Calvin - I don't know which season was the worst. Marquesas (Vecepia), Thailand (Brian), Vanuatu (Chris), Panama (Aras) or Fiji (Earl). I'd probably go with Fiji. But didn't we have a season recently we were ALL moaning about how dull it was and how we didn't like a single person on the show and then suddenly...it turned into one of the best? I remember a tribal council that was HUGE and suddenly turned a dull season into a must-watch nail-biter. But as per usual, Survivor never kicks into gear until after the merge. There are too many peripheral contestants with no screen time and the focus is only on the crazy or repeat players. I never judge a season until after the merge. That's when the fun starts. Everything before that is just exposition.
I'm not a big fan of the whole Redemption Island thing so far. To me, it exhausts the moment rather than boosts it. I'm like, oh yeah, now we have to go through this before we continue. I forgot that they aren't really gone yet. I liked it better when someone is voted out, then they are gone and we move along. And putting someone back into a reality competition once they are out almost never works well. They always have a huge target on them and can only rely on immunity. Has anyone ever returned to the house on Big Brother after being evicted to go on and win? I can't think of a scenario that worked out that way, but maybe it has. It's a device to heighten drama and increase tension. Nothing more. That said, I hope Matt goes back in and does well. Despite all the God talk, I like him and he's impressive player when it comes to challenges.
Who are all these girls on the show. I swear every episode, there is a girl I've never seen before. Like the snotty teen mean girl who is underage for alcohol. I don't like Phillip, but honestly, the immature behavior of the others over the stupid crispy rice and the way they HAD to report to Rob so they could smugly laugh and giggle was so pathetic. It reminded me of those "middle" girls. The ones who aren't in the popular crowd, but they aren't outcasts, either. The ones who will become lap dogs to the popular crowd if given the chance and the attention. So they latch on to any little thing to ridicule so they can feel superior to at least one person just to try and prove themselves in hopes of moving up the social ladder. That snotty girl had that exact same look when she talked to Rob about Phillip and I wanted to punch out all her teeth. Phillip may be annoying and an ass, but he's not intentionally cruel. That's something I cannot tolerate. And if there's one thing that is worse than a mean girl is a girl who wishes she were a mean girl. WHY?!?!
