I've never even seen Star Wars.
There. I said it.

Honestly, STAR WARS is both the best thing that ever happened to George and the worst thing that ever happened. He began his career with so much promise and so much imagination. Let's say STAR WARS had just been a modest success, at best. Do you think he would have milked it for the rest of his life? Do you think he would make other films that equaled it?
Perhaps he could have directed someone else's script, thereby making a much better film than he could ever write.
But no. His own sad fate from imaginative wunderkind to capitalist whore, sorry to say, resembles that of Anakin's into Vader.

There were fart jokes and animal-poop jokes in PHANTOM MENACE, too.
I hated everything about Episode 1. Hayden, along with pretty much everyone else, is really bad...he sure is pretty to look at tho!

Yes it is true that Jar jar Binks sucks at life, but out of all the prequels I actually enjoyed Episode 3 compared to the other 2 and Return of the Jedi ( Horribly Ridiculous movies!!!). George Lucas IMO should be ashamed to even slap his name on this debacle of a film though. Wasn't he supposed to be a one of film's "whiz kids" or something along with Scorsese and Spielberg? Where's the vision? The integrity? The imagination? Ah yes I remember...in his safety deposit box with the all of the money accumulated from this franchise along with his hopes and dreams.
He certainly would have been if he had continued directing at the level of American Graffiti, THX1138 and Star Wars.
He is, however, a pioneer and a legend (with all his staff) in the fields of special FX, sound, etc.
But as for directing? He lost it somewhere!
