Seriously people. Does EVERYTHING have to be for the kiddies. I say BRAVO!
Now if we can just get the hookers to come back and more porn shops to open we can have the NYC we're supposed to have!
I was just walking that part of the High Line a few weeks ago and saw the unique building. Should've looked a little closer!
If it gets "concerned" parents to think twice before taking their screaming little brats, I'm all for it!!!
Suddenly yearning for a stroll!
I'm tired of the brats of entitlement in NYC.
On a serious note: you shouldn't have to worry about what your kids will see on a walk. Or your grandmother!
On a silly note: I need to change my plans....
I say: Ban children from the High Line altogether.
The people complaining are probably sneaking over there at night with binoculars.
Forget the binoculars, I'm stopping at J&R and getting a telescope.
I will be making a stop.
I do kind of get why this is "newsworthy", simply in light the fact that it involves the novelty of both the High Line and The Standard, but this is an every day NYC occurrence. My current office is on Broadway in the mid 50s and at least 2 or 3 times a week I see people in the apartment building across the side street in various states of undress and having all varieties of sex. My old office was right next to the Millennium Broadway Hotel and from the conference room we periodically would see couples pressed against the floor to ceiling windows (which scared me as I'm afraid of heights) having sex, knowing full well that they were being seen, which clearly was the point. I've lived here my whole life and I've never found any of this to be newsworthy or even out of the ordinary. This is NYC and I'm sure like in every big city, where we live and work on top of each other, and in every small town, too, we all have our neighborhood exhibitionists (and vouyers), not to mention those who come here for the thrill of the anonymity. I will say that from a sociological or anthropological standpoint, it can be kind of like watching a National Geographic TV Special - ?Here we have the natives engaging in various forms of role play ? see the ?stewardess and the pilot? over there? See if you can spot the ?nurse? over yonder. Watch the wrist action when she uses that riding crop.? But it does actually get a little stale after a while, so I've asked office services to rearrange the furniture in my office, because the way it?s configured now I can't help but to look into the apartment building across the street. So if anyone wants to come over to watch before then, just let me know....
Can they ban children from NYC all together?
That actually wouldn't bother me one bit.
Which Marianne, banning kids or the exhibitionists?!
NBC Nightly News did a report on this at the end of their broadcast last night.
Eh, it's a start, but there's a lot of work left to do to make this place interesting again.
Banning kids. Sorry, I guess I didn't make that clear, although I could care less about the exhibitionists as well.

I think this quote baffles me the most
"Recently, I saw a man masturbating in one of the windows," said one person who asked not to be identified. "That's when it left the funny side and moved to the gross, dark side."
So when it was people having sex that was funny, but masturbation is gross and dark?
HOLY CRAP! BRB!...............................................................
Can't wait to hear about all the parents complaining about how their little princes and princesses had to see some bodies.
If this keeps kids off the park, then I'll deign to go back there!

Yeah, nothing says "control freak parent" like not wanting a kid to see a porn shoot on a walk outside. Damn those entitled children, daring to do things like walk outdoors.
Nah, there's plenty more of the outdoors for them besides the one little park. Restrict them!
