Tonight! Who's watching? I'm so happy they're back to 2 person teams.

So am I, I couldn't stand the family edition.
I'm watching it now. Those two ladies are crazy! "OH MY GOSH I JUST PEED IN MY PANTS!"
Interesting pairs.
I'm glad they're back to the original format.

Me too. I hated the family edition with a passion. I'm going to watch tonight's episdoe in a few.

I was very relieved about the team that was eliminated. They (well, really, one of them in particular) were too embarrassing to watch.
SO glad it's teams of two again, and outside the U.S.
Why embarrassing? I thought they were really sweet. I was more embarrassed watching the Married Couple (Don't let that black girl beat you!)

I just thought the one guy was really whiny and ineffectual, and scared of everything - I felt bad for him. Not saying they were my least favorite team, but I wasn't sad to see them go.
I agree that the Married Couple was also pretty cringeworthy.
"Did a black team just run by here?" Yuck!

SOOOOOOOOOOO glad the team that lost was the team that lost, I could not stand them, the fat guy was so annoying, and if they had lasted too long i probably would have stopped watching the show this season.
oh, and go Nerds and Frat Boys, i really hope the Pinkies go soon too.
interesting, and juvenile way to catagorize someone...."the fat person"

well i would have called him the "Giant fag" but i figured i'd piss off more people that way.
grr i missed the premiere sadness...glad it's back to 2 teams though, I did miss that last season that and the fact that the families didn't travel anywhere too exotic.
Who are the Frat Boys? If you mean the boys that came in first they are hardly "Frat". That would imply some sort of higher education. They are drop out beach bums who want to win the million so they never have to work. Cute, yes, but dum dum dum.
I didnt like the family edition either, but dont see one team that I will want to root for in this sorry bunch. Everyone is annoying. I'm glad the gay friends were eliminated, but because they were terrible competitors. It's a race! Move yer a**! I found the skinny one annoying because he was so flipping slow...what were they doing there. One is scared of everything (and keeps repeating it, ugh) and the other doesnt seem to know he is in a race.
I will enjoy hating some of these teams...mostly the southern couple. He's gonna belt her like Jonathan hit Victoria a few seasons ago. At least Jonathan was PC enough with the other teams...this guy will say some nasty stuff, I am sure.
The "Frosties" made me laugh, but if they dont stop screaming, I'll end up hating them too.

Every single team is annoying? What about Ray and Yolanda? I didn't find anything particularly objectionable about them. I also like Wanda and Desiree, for the most part, although the mother is a bit too type-A at times.
Okay, Jilani...you have me there...I have no problem with Ray and Yoland. I even admire their cool when those men were ogling her while putting the bike together.
Desiree was fine...but her mom did annoy me. If she calms down, I'll try to like her.

Hey guys - I actually missed the premiere last night, but just looked on my On Demand feature (I have Comcast Cable) and they are downloading the new series. I am off to watch the premiere right now. Just in case anyone else has Comcast on Demand - it's listed under Network Primetime - CBS - Amazing Race 9.
Anyone else find it funny that the "mature" couple of the season are named Barry and Fran? In order to boost ratings, I wonder if they will stunt cast themselves using Valerie Bertinelli and Jimmie Walker. If they want to win the game, they need to remember what the clue marker looks like. Oy!
My picks so far are Ray and Yolanda and the nerd couple. Ray and Yolanda have got "it". This couple has the brains and the braun to conquer all if they can hold it together. The nerd couple are just so incredibly funny and cute in a not-too-self-deprecating way that makes me wish I knew them. They remind me so much of so many of my friends over the years.
The original Godspell cast refugees are just too annoying. You're clowns. We get it. Though I admit there are those who probably enjoy the slapsticky goofy child-like humor, but not 24-hour all-clown all-the-time, I don't think. The frat boys don't talk about anything other than trying to get laid. Does anyone find that cute or appealing? I really hope their mothers are watching the show. They already referred to the Bobbsey Twins as "hos" and "Double D" and made comments about getting into their pants. Yeah, well one of those guys has hoop nipple rings and all I can think of is where are the tiny little guest towels for them? Lake is the obvious abusive jerk of the season (i.e. Colon and Jonathan). His joyous freakout that they weren't Philiminated was absolutely terrifying as was evident on his wife's face. The first team to be eliminated I found annoying as well. Not because one of them was over-the-top flamboyant, but because he was simultaneously pushy and whiny while the other guy seemed totally noncommittal. I was sad to see the moms go. After their introduction including their skill with a Bedazzler and delight in leg wrestling, I was utterly charmed. MoJo seems to be the attractive, yet uncompelling team of the season (who will probably come in second, if you remember that they're still racing). The mother-daughter team are admirable, but I can see that a little of the mom is about all I can take. The Bobbsy Twins, whom I truly cannot tell apart, lost me when their introduction included dancing on a bar lamely a la Coyote Ugly. Their decision-making process has been less than stellar and they went on to prove that being pretty still doesn't mean you can get a guy to assemble a motorcycle for you.
Anything will be an improvement over the family edition, but the most cotrovesial casting for these teams may not last very long, so it may not be the most entertaining season ever, but as usual, I will not miss a single episode of the best reality show on TV.
THANK GOD.........the blond beotch and her wussy boyfriend are OUT........she was such a whiney, obnoxious witch........
I hope the hippies win!
Yolanda is the only contestant I could stand this whole season. She is very funny and I'm so glad they are still in it. The hippys, like the nerds, are trying way too hard to be "hippys" and are coming off like actors. It's like they have lines the producers gave them.
The bunching up has gotten out of hand this season too. It doesnt seem to be any advantage to try until the last part of the leg, because everyone gets to the last task at the same time.
I am so glad that blonde "it's too hard", "were out of it" is gone too...but it is always fun to have someone to hate on the show.
Yolanda is the best...seems the most human. I think what the hippies show is really who they are, but I do think they are more than just friends.
The two lazy surfer guys are such pigs.....every now and them something human comes out in them, but never for long.
certainly much better than that family crap last year.....
def. better than the family season, tho the pacing is still way off. I dont understand why they are keeping the pack so bunched, then throw in a yield at the end or non elimination. It seems like they are trying for a 4 way tie every week.
Speaking of the hippies and the fratboys, both teams come across as "more than friends" to me since I saw that website of the shirtless party after the race...not that straight guys cant be that close and comfortable.
website? I didn't know about it.......
yeah they are bunching things up.
I can't stand the hippies or the frats. The frats are idiotic jerks and the hippies are not only annoying, but hypocrites. They claim to be the "good guys", but then expect the other teams to carry them. Yielding a team for not giving them money? That was not only petty and personal, but it was strategically a very stupid move. Why yield a team who is right behind you?? If you want to knock a team out, yield the team you believe is either farthest behind or the biggest threat, idiots. Had they yielded the frats, they could have bumped them to last. Trying to start a rumor to distract two teams who obviously don't like you and are not going to listen anyway? Dumb and not "good guy" behavior like they claim. Whining that the other teams won't tell you what plane tickets to buy or how to find the landmarks? Either race your own game or get off my TV screen, already. And every time I hear "T-TOW!", I want to hurl something at the screen. ICK!
But I have to say I wasn't sad to see Mojo leave. "This is the worst thing I've ever had to do!" Carry a dead fish? "This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do!" Carry some clay pots? "They yielded us and it's so UNFAIR!" Honey, it's called a race. Hurry home because the kingdom of Drama is missing their queen.
Go Ray and Yolanda! I would love to see them pull a Chip and Kim out of the hat.
