Thanks!
I only mention the not photographing well because there are a couple of pictures of me in NY where I look like I weighed 350 lbs. The camera really seems to add a lot more than 10 lbs to this guy.
This isn't self deprication, we actually had some good laughs about how ridiculous I looked on the picture from the horse and carriage ride in Central Park.

Ah, Patronus, I gotcha. Tiny threadjack: as a child, we had the funniest picture of me, my brother and my mom in front of the Christmas tree.
She's a wee, petite little thing, but the angle at which my dad took the picture somehow not only blew her up to the point where she appeared to tower over the tree but it also made her look to weigh about 250 pounds.
She hated that picture, we loved it.
Still, point is, those photos show a difference. Be happy with yourself.

It is true, the photos don't do your fabulousness justice.
Really nice work with the WW.
You are kicking my tush at this.
You will probably weigh less than I do when you get here at this rate.

I hope not! It would be awfully cumbersome dragging that IV around every where I go.
#555re: The BWW Weight Watchers Club
Posted: 2/22/06 at 11:13amNothing like a little friendly competition....

I really have no clue what this means.
A friendly competition is fun. Unfortunately he has dominated, and will probably continue to do so.

Ah, pengy, it's not about domination!
Remember to go at your own pace.
And you'll reach your goal!

Pat and I can't really be in competition on this one, we have quite different body typed (he tall and muscular, I short and stocky)
My goal is about 15 lbs down total. So I expect it to be hard all the way.

I really have no clue what this means.
It was a last minute, running out the door attempt at humor.
I just meant that if I were to way less than you do now by mid March, I'll likely be in the hospital on an IV. I'd have to drag it behind me...oh, nevermind!
Looking good Patronus. I think the cat could use some WW though.
Oh, my poor Paigey! Paige is just a big cat. He's very muscular. Both of our boys are on Light catfood though.

Congrats, Patronus!! The difference is very clear already!
And that kitty is ADORABLE!!
Congrats to all who are doing well. Chin up to those of us in plateaus--patience will be a great virtue. And, to those of you who feel you have fallen off--get back on! That's the great thing about WW. YOU CAN ALWAYS GET BACK ON!

Congratulations Patronus! And it is true that I have yet to see a picture that does you justice. That said, you do look great in that picture with Paige. I can't wait to see the new skinny you next month.

Posted: 2/23/06 at 11:13amOk I realize that for me to make it into theater (Broadway hopefully) I am going to have to loose weight. I have tried alot of stuff but right now I am not gaining nor loosing anything. I am staying exactly at the same spot and I'm really getting frustrated with it. I wanna major in MT but I realize that my weight is holding me back (I'm not huge but I'm big enough for it to make a diff.) Anybody have any advice on how to get past..something! I have cut out breakfast and I eat lunch, and if I'm hungry I'll eat supper but I've been so busy lately I don't normally get that either...any advice?

Posted: 2/23/06 at 11:30amThe biggest weight loss advice is to NOT NOT NOT skip breakfast. Or any meal. You MUST eat--it's what and how much you eat. If you have the money, join WW online. At least check out the site.

Absolutely, as Jerby said, not eating is the worst thing to do.
Controling what you eat and how much you eat is important.
You really must make sure you give your body what it neeeds.
#571re: The BWW Weight Watchers Club
Posted: 2/23/06 at 11:35amWell I've always heard that if you didn't eat your body would start feeding off the stored fat that you have...isn't that a good thing, other-wise that fat just keeps building up. My sister is doing WeightWatchers but it's a lot of money, my mom used to do it so she still might have the books and stuff, I might look at those, and kinda do my own WW... :)

Posted: 2/23/06 at 11:37amNo, starving yourself will not work the way you want it to. And certainly not long term. And certainly not if it leads to anorexia. EAT!

I am doing it on my own, it is not ideal but will work if you work at it. You just need to know and calculate what you are eating.
Sure that is the principle, and it may even work in the short run, but you would be doing damage to your body, and the weight will just come right back.
The key to weight loss is lifestyle change. You can't do that by forgeting to eat, or simply refusing to. You have to choose something healthy that will make you look and feel better all at once.
About Weight Watchers, it is not the "fastest" it is measured, to help you lose the weight and stay slimmer.
Also you can treat yourself sometimes, it helps you to be able to "stick with the program."

fastest is also not safest.
The latter is way more important.
