The trailer for the movie has arrived.

I think it looks great, but I hope they do not stray off from the book too much like they did in "Prince Caspian." I am surprised Peter and Susan are appearing in this and looks like they will be with Aslan when Edmund, Lucy, and Eustace reach his country.

I liked the other 2 films as well. Looks good.
I'm looking forward to it. I've loved the books since I was a kid (back when I didn't realize there was a religious angle).

I think it looks pretty good. I thought Prince Caspian was a vast improvement over The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.
Maybe I'm forgetting, but do Susan and Peter actually appear in the book or is this new for the movie?
I'm not sure about the book, but I know that Susan and Peter aren't in the BBC version of the film.
I'm so excited! It's been so long since I read the books, I don't recall much about this one. But they will need to stray from all the books a bit or the films would only be 30-60 minutes long. The Magician's Nephew is my favorite, but in reality, there is not a whole lot that actually happens.

I loved "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," but I thought "Prince Caspian" was a huge disappointment.

I liked both a whole lot. And this one looks like it could top them both.
No, Peter and Susan are not in the book, infact Susan never returns, and Peter doesn't until "The Last Battle."
I'm ready for "Silver Chair," it was always my favorite.
My dad and I were JUST asking when the trailer for this would be come out! My family are huge Narnia fans. They'll be stoked!

I didn't get the impression that too much has been tampered with in terms of putting Susan and Peter into the movie, I'm guessing short cameo type appearances, not as if they put them into the whole adventure.
I'm actually kind of thrilled by one more appearance by Tilda Swinton. I like the idea of using the White Witch to continually tempt the children, even from the other side.
I feel like in terms of adaptations that both Lion, Witch and Prince Caspian were fairly faithful, especially compared to where they could have gone. The only thing I really could have done without in Prince Caspian was the Caspian/Susan romance; the night battle on the castle didn't bother me, and I actually loved taking the conversation in the book about resurrecting the White Witch into the next logical step and beginning the rituals to do so.

That is the main problem with the last movie was that they tried to make it too much for teenagers. Caspain was much younger in the books and there was no romance between him and Susan. That was such a "Hannah Montana" thing of them to do. My brother and I did not like the night battle because it never happened in the book and we are die-hard fans of the books.

I felt the night raid was justified since the book mentions several unsuccessful battles/raids. I think that book especially is full of lots of scenes and incidents that are mentioned in the past tense that we never actually read about. It's a much "talkier" book than the others, with good portions of it being written as one character telling the story to catch another character up on the events, rather than the events playing out in real time.
I do hope the movies do well enough that we get The Magician's Nephew, if only so Tilda Swinton can get signficant screen time again. Though, if I was a producer, I would probably make The Last Battle before either The Magician's Nephew or The Horse and His Boy, since neither of those movies would require any of the children currently in the cast, or still waiting to be cast, in Jill's case.
This looks GREAT! I love both the books and the films, and
***SPOILER?***
The part in the trailer with the painting coming to life was exactly how I have always imagined it to be.
Even though some things about the books were changed in the first two films (more in Prince Caspian, imo, than in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe), I think that for the most part they moved the story forward (although I also could have done without the romance b/t Caspian and Susan). So excited this movie is finally coming out!
"There was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved it."
Might actually be my favourite opening line for anything ever. I might reread the Narnia books next. :3

Oh I'm sure Peter and Susan won't have huge roles at all, I was just trying to remember if they showed up in the book.
Also, add me to the list who cannot WAIT for The Magician's Nephew. Probably my favorite of the books.

There really isn't a reason to do Last Battle before Magician or Horse, since the youngest ones are 16-17, so assuming that whomever is cast as Jill or Eustace don't age in a bad way, they can cast in publication order (my preferred order).
Personally, if I were a producer, I'd eliminate The Last Battle entirely. There are so many religious metaphors as to make the story almost unfilmable.( Tash Tash, the great God Tash!) And of course that final train ride. Now there is an upbeat ending!
Stop w Magician's Nephew.
Oh and Dawn Treader is probably my fav.
Woah. Why is Peter and Susan there? The don't appear in the book, and in the last movie, Aslan says that they are too old to come back to Narnia. Other than that, I liked the trailer I can't wait.
I'm just guessing but there will prob be a "real world" framing device w Peter and Susan in that bit leading into Lucy & Edmund getting "stuck" w Eustace. and then the picture bit

Just checked IMDB out of curiousity, and the "child" playing Eustace was already 17, so he would have been 16 when filming. I never would have guessed he was that old from the (very brief) glimpses of him we get in the trailer.

SPOILER:
Although William Moseley and Anna Popplewell appear as Peter and Susan in the movie they both may not be playing the REAL Peter and Susan. Tony Nixon (Rynelf) confirmed on his official facebook page that "Peter and Susan do not make it back to Narnia" and that "All is not what it seems" with regard to their appearance in the trailer. They may both be playing Peter and Susan in a dream sequence or a magical illusion.

If you're so die-hard fans, then stick with the books. Book adaptations are just that, adaptations, and not word-for-word translations.
This movie looks amazing! I hope its filmed in 3D, though, and not done in post.

I had no problem with the film adaptation of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." It's actually one of my favorite movies. My other brother HATED the BBC version of "TLWATW," but he loved the Walden Media film. Walden did not stray too far away from "TLWATW." There were a couple of things added to the film that were not in the book, but it still stayed true to it overall. "Prince Caspian" was a HUGE disappointment. 98% of it was new material and only 2% of it stayed true to the book.
"I hope its filmed in 3D"
There will be a limited 3D release.

sabrelady, I wouldn't be surprised if all of the books were adapted to film despite the religious undertones. These films are already highly marketed to the church/family crowd, including advance screenings in churches. It is well known that C.S. Lewis wrote these books with a Christian message in mind, and though you can certainly enjoy them without being a religious person, I don't think it would be wrong to make the movies with this in mind, as it has always been my impression that this was part of Lewis's intent in creating the world and stories of Narnia.
