I'm terrible. I started laughing so hard at the sexual predator on Law and Order comment. Maybe he should register with Central Casting. I know they do extra casting for Law & Order SVU. I've worked that and the original Law and Order before.

He's obviously in need of therapy. He's a 33 year old man and all his references are childish. He's "an 11 year old boy"! He is creepily stunted in a Michael Jackson way. He thinks he's going out on a limb by trying an empanada, one stuffed with hot dogs and one stuffed like a pizza, and that is him being "cultured."

I don't think it's fair to hate on our hero for lacking culture. Some very stylish bon vivants started out as unsophisticated rubes. Holly Golightly was Lula Mae Barnes, but she got on that Grayhound bus, came to New York and--boom!--Givenchy and pearls.
As for his brittle, sarcastic, obnoxious humor--it's definitely hard to take. He's trying to be Jack McFarland, or whomever the 2014 version of Jack McFarland is. Yes--a little therapy might help.

But that's his assertion. That he is going to try an empanada, which is something he has only just learned about, because it's an effort to be more cultured. An empanada.

People really DO come from places where there is not a wide variety of "world" cuisines available.
Why would he make such a big deal about trying an empanada if it weren't, in fact, a new experience? And why fault him for being late to the experience? At least he made the effort.

I'm perplexed that Addison D. is making all sorts of excuses for him. I understand giving someone the benefit of the doubt. But I am not buying a single one of them. He's not getting a pass.
