The songs are good...nothing great, but some of the performers sound SOO good singing them. Josh's & Cheyenne's are my favorite.

tink i just went an listened to it, i couldn't get through the whole thing.

but i agree, it gave me chills.

Does someone have the link for that? I need some consolation music right now - I have an awful fever, and I just wasted $21 going into NYC only to turn around and come home again b/c I feel so crappy.

It's strange that I'm sitting here in tears, because this isn't usually a piece from Rent that affects me. But I'm remembering seeing it live now and yeah, it's a bit eerie.

ETA - I thought all the clips were from the Return, and I clicked "Another Day" and was like, 'wait a second..'

i can't believe it's been over a month either. i also really haven't listened to much from the return. there are days i can't get through the OBC recording w/o crying.

Whenever ICYR or Your Eyes come on my shuffle I can feel myself start to tear up. It's weird because I never liked either of those songs until The Return.

Songs pop up from the OBCR all the time, but it doesn't get to me other than the normal pre-return feelings, because Adam sounds different from that and then the return. I actually prefer the Return sound he had.

i tried to listen to it right after the last night. i listened on my drive home from work, i had to turn it off because i was crying so hard.

even hearing adam sing glory on friday, i know it's not the same arrangement but it got me.

Hearing him sing Glory in character was just..incredible.

After we won lotto I could not for the life of me listen to the ICY reprise without tearing up. I think that and Finale B remind me most of the Return. And SOL for obvious reasons

There's other favorite lines that have become more powerful since the Return. I've always loved Mark's "but I am over her" during Christmas Bells

tink: i agree completely, adam's voice matured a lot.

misschung: i also agree. the time i won lotto and got to sit front row center was incredible. i can't listen to the ICYR either. that experience and experiencing the last show really effected me.

I love Adam's voice a lot more now ( and during the Return) than in the OBCR. And his One Song Glory was amazing to see live with him in character, as well as What You Own with him and Anthony, especially on the 7th.

WYO on the 7th... wow. no words for that.

and my favorite non-song scene in the show has always been the fight at the beginning of goodbye love. and every time adam said "poor baby" i got chills. just thinking about it I get chills.

What You Own has always been one of my favorite songs, but seeing Adam and Anthony do it was also, for me, one of the biggest thrills of the return for personal reasons that didn't exist when I first fell in love with the show (and the song) -- that was the first song I ever got to hear from the film, and I did so during filming on the streets of the East Village, no less. So, even if I had loved the song a lot before, it's meant even more to me because of that. That particular experience was extremely emotional for me, and a huge, huge part of my relationship with Rent, and so it's always been tied to the song.

yeah, WYO has always been my personal fav. but you're right emcee, hearing them and watching them do it, just adds something to it.
