Tonight's Baking with Amber: PB&J Cookies
Amber's learned the lesson of when thumbprinting cookies, to be aware that you still have enough dough under the thumbprint (and whatever filling). The cookies spread out quite a bit more than expected, thus...the filling had only a thin layer of dough under it, or ended up with none at all.
Regardless, these cookies are fantastic! Rachel Ray is my hero (as usual).

Random thought: I was working out at the health club this morning and I saw a guy who looked like Adam.
Lucky you!

oo that must have been nice
I had an interesting day today, to say the least.
We had a field trip in my Humanities class. We went to see a speaker (I forgot his name) at Kean University. He did all these monologues and his characters were different stereotypes of people. He made us laugh, he made us cry, and all around, it was an amazing experience. One of his characters was a Latino high school boy whose mother had died of cancer and as a result, his father got drunk and beat him. He was going to commit suicide but before he did, he called his favorite teacher to say goodbye. But she convinced him not to do it. He lived only because that one adult cared about him. My friends and I cried like babies. Another was a black high school senior who was the captain of the football team and was hiding the fact that he was gay. When it was over, we were all in shock. I walked out of there feeling quite different.
When we got back to the school, we had a pizza party outside. We soon realized that the 8th period bell had rung already (we were only covered for 3rd-7th period, so anything after that would've been considered a cut) so I had to rush to get to math. It was very stressful, especially with a plate of pizza in my hand.

Wow, that sounds like some pretty powerful stuff...
For Allie...today while I was looking at recipes, I found several apple turnover recipes that included cheddar cheese...so you aren't alone!

cheese? that's a first
wow sounds interesting guitargeek. I love school trips...I didn't have one this year =[
That sounds like a really interesting school trip, guitargeek.
Ahhh, the weather was so nice and warm and sunny today. It felt great, a nice diversion from all the crap I'm dealing with right now. I mean, a couple of days ago I still needed my winter coat and today I didn't even wear a jacket because it felt so nice outside
It's really nice outside and sunny here and everyone's playing frisbee and catch and tanning on the field outside my window.
I, on the other hand, am stuck inside popping Sudafed.
I guess my shots are working, yay . The only problems I'm having is when I switch from being inside to outside. I haven't been out today, but I'm leaving my winter coat at home when I go out tomorrow, and the sunglasses are coming out

There's a big outdoor concert downtown this evening to kick off Juno weekend, and it's free, but it'll be over really late, and I don't want to walk all the way back alone that late.
Stupid grass.
I rolled down some hill today during one of our breaks. I haven't done that in a while. It was fun.
The dad did that on Super Nanny Monday night, I almost cried. I need proper sleep. Almost done the essay, woohoo, then sleep forever.
Allie, do you have people you can go with, travelling in groups is usually a safer and therefore more comfortable option.

Nobody I know is going tonight, Sarah, but I'm hoping to get a group together for tomorrow AND Saturday night... the city is so full of music this weekend. It's incredible!
I would go with you if it wasn't so far away That's so exciting, I've never really been into the Junos, but I think if it were in my hometown and we had the parties it would definitely add to excitement.

There was a whole extra section in the newspaper this morning entitled "Spotlight on the Junos". It had a list of all the bands playing this weekend, and maps to all the bars/clubs. And there was a Pam Anderson paperdoll you could dress up to decide what she should wear to host the awards show. I put her in boots and a sou'wester.
