Everytime I lick a lot of envelopes (like today with my christmas cards!) I think of that Seinfeld episode. Amazing what some fictional TV will do to your brain!
We just had Christmas fight #1 here ... over something as silly as when to wake up to do presents. I wanted to say 10 but I was nice and said 9 instead ... my brother wanted 7. Are these people crazy?!? We're in our 20's! Present opening lasts 10 minutes! You want me to get up at 7 for that?!??! :) Last year I bargained down to a reasonable time and he woke me up with pots and pans banging ... that plus the mother coming in here to say "don't you think that if you went to bed now instead of wasting time on the internet you'd be able to wake up sooner?"
So to make them happy and keep peace, I am off to bed as well. But they get all the movie channels and my room has a fully capable TV so they can put me to bed but they can't make me sleep! :)
But tomorrow when we're done with 10 min of present unwrapping I shall play the friends game with all of you. Did you know there is a "Scene It" DVD game devoted to Friends now? How great is that?!?
Leaving now, really, I am.
Really?? Oh we gotta get it...
possibly for New Year's!
*completely random* Over break, for AP Bio, we have to choose and read most of a book relating to evolution that is at least 300 pages. I was really daunted at first, but I took out a few books from the library, and they are all really fascinating, especially the one I decided to read, so now I'm really excited. Just thought I'd share.
It really is. I'm very interested in dinosaurs, and this book talks about the giant sea monsters and dinosaurs, as well as more modern stuff. Today it made me think about dying though, which made me sad.
Me too. I used to want to be a paleontologist, and I ordered this kit that had cards for all the different dinosaurs. I still have it. Dinosaurs really were amazing.
Yeah figures I'm awake, not tired, and I hafta get up at 7:30 tomorrow to drive up to my sister.
Gee, let's play Alix's game, the word seems to be paleontologist...gee, I'm stumped on how to relate that one to Friends
It's good that you find the subject interesting Elphie, I detested AP Bio. I mean the only aspects I could stand were the chem chapters, the Mendelian genetic chapters, taxonomy and ecology(funny everyone else thought taxonomy was quite boring) but I mean...plants, photosynthesis, parts of plants, human systems...I try, but they just bore me to death. To me it's oh my stomach's a bit upset, time for the bathroom, I don't need to know in detail the path my food becomes feces and which system it gets excreted out of and that crap. I was never a dinosaur fan, refused to see Jurassic Park(interesting b/c now I don't find it...or anything scary...I had an anxiety disorder so I was terrified to see any movie that may have scared me a bit, but it's like nothing as scary as I made it out in my mind?)
Ooh and I watched Strictly Ballroom tonight to replace the crap on TV, it was cute, makes me really sad that my college ballroom dance class ended

Alright, I must catch up, and I have way too much time on my hands seeing as how I have no room to sleep in right now, so I’ll address everything:
Speaking of families-again- I must say that even though they annoy the crap out of me, I would never say I never want to see most of them again. Most of them can be pretty good about things and open-minded, like my brother who is very religious and is against homosexuality but bought me Anthony’s CD for X-Mas. The only person in my entire family that I could realistically be fine with forgetting is my dad- but that hasn’t changed since college, it’s only harder because I know that there is a dorm room 2 hours away where I never have to deal with him and his painful comments about everyone/anyone who isn’t him.
Okay, back to Adam: Winter Light is so beautiful; I have made my mom officially in love with that song.
Everything reminds me of “Friends” as well. I swear I can make anything into a “Friends” or “Rent” reference. The best thing about sitcoms is how you can just sit down and laugh for a half hour and not really have to follow the plot or anything. I love “Will & Grace” too.
Random: The Tooth Fairy gave me a Christmas present (since I had my wisdom teeth out this week). I just thought it was funny that my mom actually wrote “From: The Tooth Fairy”, on a present, haha.
Also Kinda Random: Am I the only one who never went through the dinosaur phase? I remember everyone in my 2nd/3rd grade class was obsessed with dinosaurs and I never liked them. I liked the Jurassic Park movies- but I never was into fossils or anything, which is weird now that I think of it because I love the History Channel and learning about ancient history through archeology and such. Oh well, I didn’t miss out on too much did I?
Sorry to completely threadjack everything, this board makes me feel like I have friends who aren’t miles and miles away right now, lol.
HO, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas, B*tches! :)
I got a BC/EFA mug with all the show logos on it and a few little things and a brand new stove for my kitchen cause my old one hasn't worked in awhile. (Been grilling in the snow - it's actually quite fun and entertaining) :) Nothing that I have to return this year and all my stuff is actually me-friendly! What a nice pleasant surprise.
Hope that you get good stuff whatever holiday you are celebrating!

Hah. I'm in AP Biology, too. I don't find it too difficult, but the only chapters that interest me are the ones dealing with genetics in general. I find learning about specific genetic disorders really interesting. Beyond that, AP Bio doesn't exactly excite me.
Well once again happy holidays everyone!
And lovely Chanukah presents from the immediate family. My oldest sister got me a noise maker which I used to have, put on nice nature sounds and it's very relaxing to sleep to. Lost it/slightly broke it so I've been using a fan ever since, but now my room won't be so chilly, yaay!
And the even better ones...my mom I told her all my bway tickets are my Chanukah present, but she got me something small...a teddy bear that plays the clarinet!! I can't believe it. It plays some song that I never heard of, but still it was adorable, the notes on the clarinet light up.
And my middle sister got possibly the best...the sound of music 40th anniv. DVD which I knew someone was gonna get me but even better....a Gerry poster!!! Adorable, I never thought to ask for that, such a great Chanukah!
