Well, almost no one is here but I'm leaving you a note anyway. Catching up has made me miss you guys a lot- and I've only been away one night. Funnily enough, I didn't miss my family at all when I was at writing camp this summer.
It sounds like everyone is terribly miserable. I'm really sorry.
I'm in AP bio and I hate it with all my heart. My teacher likes to make things more difficult than most- we mix every solution ourselves, we have to hunt down and teach ourselves every piece of equipment, ect. And we have tests over chapters he doesn't teach, which makes me want to tear my hair out.
Hi - hope everyone's feeling better today and some of the unnecessary drama has abated. Nia, I don't blame you for tearing your hair out, but it's possible some of those skills may eventually come in handy. Having to figure out equipment and getting tested on things that haven't been taught are all too reminiscent of what I've encountered in the work world.
I don't know if anyone is here, but hi if you are. Hope everyone had a nice Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/First night of Hannukah. I spent the day at the movies, along with what it seems was every other jew in NY. I saw King Kong. Now I think I have to go light the menorah - I know what all my gifts are so I don't know what to open. I think I might go for Civilian.
sry double post
I decided against opening Civilian since I already have all the songs on my ipod anyway. I went for the Mark scarf from the sony site. Its thick and warm and looks nothing like Mark's scarf but I still like it.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a good day. It depresses me that I don't get remotely excited about christmas anymore. It's become like a job. Even the presents aren't that fun.
Haha. Sorry to completely bring down the thread again.
Hey everyone! Hope you're all having a happy holiday of some sort today. I have to make my catching up quick, since it's costing me 50 cents per minute, but here goes:
- I want to hear this Winter Light song that was being talked about a couple of pages ago, especially since it was mentioned that there are some nice falsetto bits in there. There's something so warm and soothing about the way Adam sings high notes, as well as the impressiveness of him having such a wide range.
- If I weren't in a public cyber-cafe right now, I would have screamed "YES!!!! People who get it!" at everyone's posts about the ridiculousness of getting seriously drunk. I hate when people think that's the only way to have a good time, and I've been in that unpleasant situation of being the only sober person in the room at a party. Watching my then-crush drink to the point where he made an utter fool of himself at both an after-prom party (where, among other things, he bit a kitchen cabinet) and a graduation party (where he threw up all over the place, then cut his foot on broken glass and wouldn't sit still to let someone bandage it - I had to help my best friend hold him down) is what finally made me get over him. I don't have any plans for New Year's Eve other than being tired from flying home and unpacking, so a BWW online celebration sounds great.
- Ahh, Friends. I loved that show. Does anyone remember the episode where they talk about how Joey could make anything sound dirty and then he says "Grandma's chicken salad" in a really dirty-sounding tone of voice? That seriously cracks me up, because I can read the most innocuous thing and find something amusingly dirty in it.

Heh, when I was little my family used to go see the Radio City Christmas Show on Christmas Day because it was so easy to get good seats. We actually got front row one year.
OK, gotta go. I think I've already spent $15 in the time it took me to read the thread and type this, and it's almost time for dinner.
For all of you with roomies - make sure to check out the "ways to annoy your roomie" thread because it's pretty funny!
Hope your evenings go well ... I am stuffed with roast beef and wishing grocery stores were open because I am craving ice cream like crazy!!!! I also just saw on fandango that Rent is playing at a movie theater north of Baltimore ... wonder if the family would notice if I was gone for a few hours? :)
Merry Christmas and happy Chanukah everyone!
Congratulations!

I hope everyone had a great holiday!
I just got back from eating dinner at my dad's fire station. Those firemen sure know how to cook.
My Christmas was great - I got some nifty presents, but the greatest "gift" came from the stray kittens in my neighbor's yard. My neighbor wants nothing to do with these kittens, so for the past month I've been trying to "make friends" with them so that I can catch them peacefully and find them homes. They wouldn't go anywhere near me before, but today my favorite kitten ate out of my hand and actually let me pet her. I'm a cat lover, so this meant a lot to me (yes I am a huge dork).
