No, I don't have the song. I kept thinking I'd get to hear it somehow eventually. It would be great if you could send it. I don't think I want to buy the movie just to hear the song, since I already watched most of it once and had the credits cut off in the same way!

I'll PM you.

I've been hiding in my room watching crappy TV all day. My dad came in to ask me if I wanted to watch POTO on HBO and I pretended to be asleep. I've cried so much today; the holidays are supposed to be nice. You're supposed to want to go home.

I really, truly wish that we could have a big New Years' Eve party -- all of us. That would be my ultimate party, I think.

Anyway, Winter Light is really pretty; I would send it, but obviously, I can't get to it. Adam Love

I've had Phantom on my TV while being on. Turn every so often to stare at the wonderfulness that is Gerry. There's gotta be some degree in cheering up in that Adam Love

Well, New Year's for me has always been a family affair, but this year should be lots of fun b/c we're celebrating Chanukah on New Year's, so all my cousins are coming. We're exchanging gifts, playing games(New Year's tradition) at my house so I can check in online every often for a NY "celebration." As it is, I'm already getting a BWW kiss...and a kiss from kitty, oh yeah, go me on New Year's Adam Love

I'm so sorry, Emcee. Ontheskyway kindly sent me the song, which I just finished listening to. It is really beautiful. Too bad it didn't get more exposure. Adam really belts out some impressive notes at the end. He sings softly so beautifully too. My favorite example of that is probably the start of Suddenly Seymour.

I never know what to do on New Year's Eve, so by all means let's have a party. Maybe it'll have to be online - in fact it'll have to be unless we end up leaving out a lot of people - but that's okay.

Mt dad's birthday is New Year's Eve, so we will be having a party at my house, but I'll definitely try to sneak on for the bww party, which will be ever so much more fun.

I hope everyone can work out her familial problems. Those are no fun. Adam Love

I also want to wish everyone a Happy Chanukah and Merry Christmas, and I hope that everyone's year starts better than it may have ended. Adam Love

I spent last years' NYE online -- well, before I was dragged to The House of Drunk People. I could do that again; it would probably be most fun.

I love Winter Light because it's so... falsetto-y.

*shudders* The "House of Drunk People." That does not sound at ALL pleasant. It rather sounds like my worst nightmare, actually. Adam Love

For as long as I can remember, the same family friends come over and we play Balderdash. It's a game that's lots and lots of fun, always lots of laughs, then we watch the ball drop. The last minute of the year is always so exciting. This year, there's a possibility that things might change and I'm sad about that.

Just saw Memoirs of a Geisha. It was good...it's slow, but definately enjoyable. The whole thing is very even keel and the movie itself reflects the behavior of a geisha. It was interesting.

I never want to do it again. People were throwing up everywhere. I would rather spend NYE watching TV alone, I swear.

Me too! I've never been drunk, and I don't plan on changing that. You're not going to be dragged there again, are you?

I love Balderdash with all my heart and soul.

Me too. That's what my post prom was like last year. It was the first time I was in a situation like that and I look forward to avoiding being around drunk throwing up people in the future. Not fun.

I simply don't find anything appealing about being so wasted that you do things that (a) are stupid and (b) you won't remember.

Why is that fun?

I honestly don't know. I don't get why people think it is "cool".

There isn't much to do here for New Years except "party" (aka get really wasted). I'm not looking forward to that night because I live next to a park, and there will probably be drunk college boys screeching around it in their lifted trucks.

I'll probably put on some tunes and do a big puzzle or something that night. So if you guys wanna have an online party, I'll be here. Adam Love

I totally agree. It tastes bad, I don't really see how it can be genuine fun, and then you feel horrible afterwards. I don't see ANY good.

I have no idea what I'll end up doing NYE. My friends will probably be doing something, but I always feel bad leaving my mother alone on NYE. I just don't think I can do that, and if I go with friends, I'll probably end up in one of those pleasant everyone is drunk and I'm not situations. Last year I did the midnight run in Central Park with my mom and a friend and her parents. It's a 4 mile run that starts at midnight. It was kinda fun. But, I'm not much of a runner so I'm not sure I'll be doing that again. We'll see what happens.

Being in Central Park sounds like it'd be so much fun! The new year is always so exciting and I've always wanted to be in the city and see the ball drop but it's not worth waiting for hours and I don't want to deal with all the drunk people there. Even though it's fun, it also always feels a little lonely.

I have come up with a theory on why people feel the need to get drunk at parties: It's because most "friends" actually hate eachother and people are so boring that the only thing they can think of doing is getting drunk. They are so boring that they can't have intelligent conversations with eachother, so they drink because they have nothing better to do and they don't want to realize that their existence is pathetic.

ETA: I hope I didn't offend anyone. It's just a theory. Adam Love

A glass of wine is pleasant, but I've never been able to drink enough of any kind of liquor to get really drunk. It does seem pointless. I'm kind of looking forward to our online party. We could have a picture fest.

Hey-

There isn't much fun in getting completely wasted, but I guess if you don't have the intelectual capacity to create fun any other way, it's the best option. Personally, I am not fond of puking my brains out because of a few hours of "fun" that I don't even remember. Adam Love

I agree w/ you all on the drinking thing--hate it. Doesn't taste good, ppl use it as an excuse to do stupid things, you possibly could spend the night and/or morning sick, etc. I'm proud to be shameless enough that I don't need alcohol to lower my inhibitions--many a time I've sung, danced and skipped down the streets of NYC w/o anything in me, actually many friends are scared of what I might do drunk. And then losing balance, it's just...pointless IMO. There are so many ways to have fun w/o it.

One tradition that I believe last year was missed. We always watch Dick Clark's rockin New Years Eve and someone in my family always says god, how old is he?? Every year, never fails. But he wasn't on last year Adam Love

I mean so many ppl consider this a party/social/out w/ friends holiday and I've always seen it and celebrated it as a family affair w/ games and togetherness and such, usually I list it as my fav holiday, I think it is. One year I went to a friend's house which I guess was fun, but I missed the family New Year's. Really excited for this year's but I'm way too addicted and I know I'll find ways online despite the craziness here.

skyway, they said three to five days, but with the holidays and weekends factored in, I don't think that's accurate. I might buy an Apple, anyway. Not sure if I'll buy one at the store or order it on the phone, though.
