Yay!! I want to see it so badly...too much bad stuffs in it though for my 'rents (ha :-p) to approve for now.
Hey Diva, see what one little song and its lyrics can do? Feel better and try to see the sunnier side of life, even when there doesn't seem to be one!
Thanks addict!!! I'm definitely a lot better now!
Hi everyone - I've been reading the thread and enjoying all of Allie's enjoyment of Civilian. I'm really glad you finally got it! I haven't listened to it for a while, which gives me a chance to go back to it with fresh ears and find new things in it.

Did you ever notice that rogue apostrophe, Chloe??
And I really do love it. More and more with each time through!
haha, the apostophe. Are you hugging it, Allie?

*sings along* It's WHO you are, it's WHO I am myself...
Yes ma'am, hugging!!
Hey Allie! I don't remember if I ever noticed the apostrophe - but I do remember thinking that the CD booklet (and the Sh-K-Boom site in general) was in need of a proof reader.
::puts on her obnoxious former English major hat yet again::
I do think it's a terrific album too. One of the best things about it is its consistency, which is so hard to achieve.
I found so many mistakes in the lyric booklet.

Things like that make me sad. Why can't everyone just... SPELL, dammit!?
Adam can't. Maybe he typed that up :-P

Hehe, perhaps that's the trouble... Ugh. But I have an Orlando Pops Andrew Lloyd Webber CD with "HINK OF ME" printed right on the back cover. That's just sad.

Allie, that just makes me sad. Really, who checks these things? I was editing my school's lit magazine the other day and someone mispelled 'touchless' as 'touch les'. ACK. We all make mistakes, I know I do, but really...
"Why can't everyone just... SPELL, dammit!?"
Since you asked...
English spelling is so inconsistent that to be really good at it you have to have quite a good memory and be motivated to spell well. Most other languages have comparatively simple spelling rules and consistent correlations between sounds and spelling. English is a nightmare.
Some of the mistakes, like that apostrophe, are just carelessness though. I remember thinking at one point that I hope Sh-K-Boom will find some way of fixing things up before the Rent movie comes out, because it's a little embarrassing.
::after all my ranting, had to look up the spelling of "embarrassing"::

Heh, and the apostrophe's in there TWICE!!
Last year, my friend and I started a collection of misspelled posters that we found around school. It was pretty sad. We had at least 10!

Someone at my school started a Grammar Club and I'm tempted to join it. Imagine, keeping the world safe from atrocities such as incorrect spelling of the word 'atrocity' (which I am too lazy to look up)
I think you spelled it right.
A Grammar Club - sounds like something I would have joined.

The thread may never know unless one motivated soul decides to spell-check it, Emcee.
Chloe, I just might...

I would have joined a Grammar Club! Oh wait, I was a yearbook editor. Never mind. Heh.

And they use the words 'civilian' and 'prisoner' in the definition! But Emcee, since when are you so motivated to go work?
Because this "work" is better than reading the 20 page Wordsworth poem I have sitting in front of me.
And that's too ironic for me.

Er, excuse the intrusion...
Happy Birthday, Nia! Sorry I missed it, but hey better late than never!
Um...Adam rocks. Bye guys!

And they use the words 'civilian' and 'prisoner' in the definition! Heee! I was going to point that out! Okay, it's bedtime for me. Wow, and at a decent hour tonight. That's awesome!
Ellie must be wondering why we're looking up "atrocity."
