Ooh one more quick note, I always try to get the audience more into it than they already are no matter their level...the night was a really good audience I thought, better than one I've been w/ for a while. Lots of laughs and enthusiasm. Got a teeny bit of applause going for Norbert rolling on the floor, not as much as I would have liked but what was awesome is when Greg and Joanna first appeared in the robes I heard very miniscule golf claps so again I clapped really loud and that got the whole audience to applaud that part, and knowing I got them there, after Greg's line on the balcony, started the applause again and again, huge applause, that hasn't happened for a while. Greg said to me after that was a great response he got today for that and I said of course, I spurred on applause lol. But yaay for a wonderful audience, at curtain call when I of course stood right away, there was another woman standing for me and even when the ensemble bowed, ppl cheered very loudly, I was so happy.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
