But I should warn you if not before I'm prob at intermission gonna plan to try to move, just was gonna take advantage of the fact I was alone and even in soldout shows there's always some empty single seats.

Dre, who are you planning to go w/--parents? Would be cool if you sat in our vicinity then we could have our own enthusiastic cheering section, maybe a small little group might stop me from moving...we'll see.

hopefully, without. lol. I was going to get my friend to get me a ticket online (since I don;t have a credit card) but her account is low. I'll probably just try and get into the city during thanksgiving and buying a ticket then. if I can. unless one of you guys can get it online and I just pay you back when I see you. that would be cool. if not, whatever, it's cool.

Yes, I lust over Alan Cumming and am proud of it. lol. I have seen Reefer Madness and really enjoyed it. I want to get the DVD of it but am short on cash at the moment so it will have to wait.

Friends just left after watching Batmas Begins, and I must say that I hated it.

ok, so I got a seat! yay!

but, main thing I wanted to say here is that I was just listening to part of a radio show that was recorded by these two guys about cast recordings. I was interested and downloaded their first show and listened to part of it. I think it was the 6th song thingy down, they talk about DRS. I got excited. But most of it was trashing the cd and the show. They said that they both saw it on tour before it got to broadway and never saw it on broadway and they said that Greg and joanna's characters should have been cut and that sara's song was useless and should have been cut and how John's 11th hour song ( I think they are talking about Love Sneaks In) should be cut and how it was trying hard to be the producers (at least one guy thought that). the same guy also says that Norbert did too much "mugging" and that it was "obnoxious." I'm sorry, I hate what they said. and they play a sing, but it was the opening, nothing special. you guys should listen. here's the link and if you have itunes, it's the 6th one down.

oh and i am listening to the movie version of the song 'Life Support' from Rent. It's only 56 seconds long but I love it. and tonight alone, on my computer (so it does include the twenty odd times I heard it on my ipod today), i have listened to it 155 times. lol. love it!

Patronus once said that hate is a strong word. I have to admit, I use it. Why don't we make the world a little better and say "really dislike" instead of "hate"? There's already SO much hate in this world. Sorry to be so preachy, but you know...

Well, I haven't given it a listen, and I probably won't. I don't really have any interest in them, now that I've heard that they said that.

oh geez, i feel bad, but i forget your name. is there anyway you can put it in your signature or should i just call you WS?

i know what you mean. I have to revise an essay for tomorrow, (today) but the whole thing is due on tues. and I'm listening to "life support" still, from the rent soundtrack (NOT cast recording). on it's 263rd time listening to it now. all in one night.

Heh I'm actually being quite useful for once. Due to oversleeping friday, being out all day yesterday and visiting w/ the cousins, I really needed to get work done today and tomorrow, but esp. today b/c Tuesday I have an early class and the Rent movie at night and want to be as well rested as possible, tomorrow I have a "class" at 1(it's just a test that will take me 5 minutes). But yeah, I studied for that test, finished outlining my psych chapters for my test on tuesday and pretested myself for that, outlined an english essay I'm going to write tomorrow, and even did a teeny bit of work for a research paper. Yaay for useful me, doesn't often happen.

Janelle! i knew it began with a j. lol. love that avatar. it's so funny, cause he actaully shows the cuffs like that and i never notice that till my third time watching the show and of course, then it clicked to when he runs onstage with them in his bathrobe. lol.

yeah, being without cable for the last decade, i seem to get left behind. i had no clue about the Reefer Madness movie. a few of the songs got stuck in my head! i really enjoyed it.

i have a package to send Greg, but keep on thinking of more things to add. it was just going to be a "just because" gift, but looks like it'll turn into a christmas present. ...i did tell him, however, that i was sending it LAST monday, i guess i should inform him about the delay.

i'm soooo thirsty. being diet coke deprived sucks.

Good morning everybody! Something aweful has happened to my PC and I'm suddenly unable to get to the Smithsonian web site. Every time I try I get an Internet Explorer message either saying the domain is down OR that the web page can't be found. (The web page is fine - it's just me who can't get to it.) This is a big problem for me because I need that web page for my work. Right now I'm just upset because I can't get to the web cam and get tickets to see our little panda boy. In frustration, I have removed his pic from my avatar. To help ease my pain, I have placed Greg there. re: The Official Greg Jbara Love Thread PART 2!!!!

Sarah - I was wondering about our Annie too. I really only expected to see her here!

Janelle - I wish I could see your avatar better. Do you have a link to the full sized picture? I've never seen that one before and I'd love to see a bigger image.

Gav and Dre - I agree about the hate word. After all, these poor ignorant slobs actually have to live and survive in this world with their limited brain power! They shouldn't be hated, they should be pitied. They should be helped. They should be gently educated. They should be locked in a deep hole and have an old sock stuffed in their mouths..... (Ooops - sorry. I got a little carried away.)

One final word that's bound to upset EVERYBODY here.... I was really hoping that the one place where I could escape all this RENT mania was a thread called The Official Greg Jbara Love Thread. Alas, it was not to be. I may be the only human being on earth who is less than thrilled that this show is now out in a film format. Although I've tried twice to like the show, I've hated it both times. Still, I can't escape it here. So, can I ask one favor? If you must talk about RENT, can you at least keep it on topic by adding a bit about Greg or DRS?

Hi everyone.

I've never posted in this thread before, but after seeing that I was mentioned a couple of times I felt like I should say hello.

Yeah, I had some back problems during DRS and as a result got pretty ill and did leave at intermission.

I think it was a combination of lack of sleep (which is not something I do very often), sitting in a plane for 5 hours (I had just flown out from CA), and the REALLY tight seats at the Imperial.

A classic case of biting off more than I can chew. I just have to keep reminding myself that I am no longer 17.

It was really great to be able to put names with faces and I'd like thank you guys for an unforgettable evening at Sbarro! The singer there was really something special, but even her vast talents were overshadowed by the company at the table.

As for DRS, I wouldn't exactly say that I planned my trip around it. I was looking forward to seeing Norbert perform "Great Big Stuff" live and I did get to see that, but if I was truly planning the trip around anything it was U2 at first and then evolved into enjoying the city and hanging out with the wonderful and lovely smartpenguin78 and yodamarie78. I have now had the pleasure of doing that for two consecutive evenings. Not sure if you guys read this thread, but thanks for making an absolutely dreadful performance of "Rent" enjoyable.

I might have made an attempt to go back, but I have some ways to see the 2nd act when I get back to CA.

I doubt I could add anything by reviewing it at this point but I had to overwhelming thoughts coming out:

1) What a great company.
2) Jolene is such a throw away part that really slowed down the first act for me.

Okay, I am going to get ready to walk around and find something fun to do. Back to occasional lurking.
