"Jeffrey was actually a pretty hot guy back in the day."
Eh. Not to me. Far too '80s guido Kevin Spacey.
Santino.
Bradley was the biggest bucket of bizarre I have seen in a very, very long time. I can dig weird, but I can't really get into the kind of weird that makes one suspect light brain damage, mental retardation, an extreme case of pot-brain, or alien brain experiments. He was just...*shudder*
I know Malan. Have for a long time...his accent is a result of his upbringing and very international childhood, and it's not fake. It's how he talks. Always. He really is a sweetheart. He used to be part of the Marie's Crisis Regulars...we were all there at LEAST thrice a week.
Pretty decent singing voice he has, too.
I can definitely see that, blue.
My favorite was the picture of chubby Kayne with his big-haired sister. It really explains a lot of things.
I will agree that Angela can design, I just question her taste. Her Audrey Hepburn dress and INC suit were great, but in both of those cases she was given very strict parameters and worked with people who would not have let her screw up. I think a huge reason why she won the INC challenge was because she had Michael and Laura as teammates. God only knows what she would've sent down the runway without their influences.
Vincent is just bizarre. Not in a fun way, but more in a I'm-seriously-concerned-for-his-mental-health way. He is just an odd duck. And contrary to the judges, I was unimpressed by his outfit last night. The fit was not as good as it could've been.
I kept on thinking of Malan during last nights episode and wondered if in fact they would have brought his mom on as a model (especially since she wasn't so supportive of his designing aspirations).
This thread is hysterical. Good day, y'all!
I do it all for you, Janey baby.
Kayne was not chubby. He was FAT. Good for him, losing it all! It DOES explain a lot...

"I think a huge reason why she won the INC challenge was because she had Michael and Laura as teammates."
It's the ONLY reason. If not for Laura's taste level and tailoring ability and Michael's keen eye for style, she would've been f--ked.
"God only knows what she would've sent down the runway without their influences."
Anything is possible. I wouldn't even rule out a giant "signature rosette" across the vag.
Blueroses, your last comment was priceless, and could have been a real possibility!!

I agree with most of what's been said so far. Michale's was my favorite (but there was NO way they'd give the one designer with the skinny model the "winner" title. Too controversial).
I really though Jeffrey's "Batman's muumuu" frock was much uglier than Robert's, but the moment Miss Heidi (who I'm convinced is the producers' mole to keep it all "good TV") said "at least is has a point of view," I knew Robert would be packin' up his needle and thread.
I knew during deliberation. Remember how Kors said "week after week, boring boring boring boring"?

robert deserved to go this week (especially with vincent winning the challenge)

List you favorite Kors-isms...
"She looks like a paper brioche."
And our personal favorite - "that crotch is hideous"
Peach, I was wondering when you were going to chime in.

peach, my head is spinning with thoughts of the Orange Man. There are far too many to remember! This season alone we have had:
"That crotch is insane!"
"Those pockets are insane!"
"It was more Brady Bunch than Twiggy."
"Commes de Garcon goes to Amish country."
I'll look out for them when I catch some reruns! I could watch an hour-long reel of them and be thoroughly entertained. I loved Santino's impersonation when he was imagining how Michael would react to his Sasha Cohen creation. "It looks like a baboon's ass exploded on her backside!"
I'll never forget how disturbed I was when they had some bitch guest judge from Elle critiquing that same ice skating challenge. Re: Emmett's design: "It's vulgar. There is entirely too much tootie exposed."
Tootie? Who would call a vag a tootie (except maybe Mindy Cohn)?

Dottie - too true! I had a mornin' full of meetings. And then I rushed to my favorite thread on this board! I was seriously going through withdrawal! :)
if you asked me last night, I would have pegged Uli for the winner (even though Michael's was the best, but see above).
But after looking at the rate the runway photos on the PR web site, I actually think Vincent's was pretty deserving. Go figure!
Kors-ism...
"She looks like a crumpled dinner napkin."
ETA: blueroses - The "tootie" comment just made me spit my coffee all over the computer. And I love how you call him "Orange Man." Brilliant!

Dottie: Michael Kors.
Thanks, I must have missed something.
Did you get the impression that Robert wasn't very upset with his elimination last night?
By the way, who is dressing Heidi Klum? Her dress at the beginning of the episode last night was atrocious!

Yup. A few of us have said upthread that it looked like he just gave up on purpose and wanted to go home. He put no thought into it (what was with the cape?) It was like he made a little red riding hood outfit for a BBW Halloween party.

Robert seemed okay. I think he started to realize that he was out of his element when he started saying, "I know what they're going to say.. dull, boring.."
Heidi's clothes are ALWAYS atrocious. SO ironic I can't even...
I just want to grab her and shake her and scream "Who the hell made you think that you could judge ANYBODY's designs, the way you dress yourself?!?!"
She has about as much fashion sense as my right great toe.

But she's so Gorgeous
Eh, that's subjective, and even if one thinks she is gorgeous, that doesn't automatically make her a fashion expert.
Just because she's been paid to wear clothes and be photographed wearing them doesn't necessarily mean she knows anything about what she was wearing, and certainly not about concepts of good design.
If you listen to her commentary, almost NONE of it is ever design-specific. It's all "she looks fat", "you made her look thin, yay" "I like the color" "I don't like the fit". It's never inspired, thoughtful or thought-provoking criticism.
I think she just really, really needed the work, and the producers knew it.
I would much rather see Tyra or Iman as the host. Can you IMAGINE?!?!
I feel much better now. I thought I was the only one who noticed.
Wow, I'm listening to Tim's podcast now. Very interesting commentary about Robert and his outfit.
