I'm sure. Tim loved Robert.
I thought that uli's mom was adorable and i agree about Angela's garment. I mean, the judges said that it looked too young but I didn't think so at all. It was approrpiately young. If it had been age-appropriate the judges probablly would have said that it was "again."
As much as I love Kayne's love of bright colors, rhinestones, and his great personality, this competition belongs to Michael and Uli. Neither one of them has sent a bad garment down the runway and they both keep getting better and better.
Based on what we've seen to this point, I'm going to put Laura in the top three with them. She may be a bit dull, but her craftsmanship is perfection and for the most part she has a really good idea of what is flattering on a woman. I would wear her clothes in a heartbeat--especially that great lace dress she was wearing last night.
Oh m'gay stars, it's Kitzy!!!!!!!!!
...and I'm ever so glad you and I have the same idea about the top 3.
Laura's clothes erally are elegant and flalwless. Especially for women like her--middle-aged women who are mothers and try not to slip into sweatpants and a minivan, as she puts it. I think she would definitely have great marketability after this competition is over.
Has anyone listed to Tim's podcast yet? For some reason I'm able to download them at work, but not at home.
JYG, you make a valid point of Robert wanting to get the hell out of there. It was like his heart wasn't in it at all. Though with different sized women, I don't think the designers were on a level playing field at all, and it all amounted to the luck of the draw so to speak.
Jane2, I totally agree, there wasn't one outfit there that I really liked.
I thought Jeffrey's was absolutely hideous, but I knew he wasn't going to be eliminated.
But I think that was part of the challenge...a really, TRULY gifted designer will make a beautiful garment for an elephant or for a gerbil (or a teacup poodle, as this season may have it). The size of the client shouldn't matter, the quality of the design does. Chloe Dao proved what a good designer is last year, when, having never IN HER PRECIOUS LITTLE LIFE made a single *shred* of menswear, had to make an entire suit for Nick, and she turned it OUT.
THAT is a designer.
All this kvetching about "oh, wah wah, I've never had to make a dress for a...a...PLUS SIZE WOMAN *insert little gaspy shriek here*, what ever to do, oh fiddle, oh fie!" is asinine and retarded. Do they SERIOUSLY think everyone who will ever buy their clothes is a size 0-2 and 5'11"?
I would love to go to a fabulous NYC bar with Kayne, Robert, and Tim. I think there would be so much love pouring out of me that I would just die.
I may harbor dreams of being like Audrey Hepburn, but I will never be able to get rid of my love for bright colors and as many rhinestones as is humanly possible without blinding someone. I know it's tacky, and I don't care. At the very moment I am wearing rhinestone bobby pins, a rhinestone bracelet that belonged to a great great Aunt, a Swarovski crystal encrusted watch, and shoes with great big gem stones.
And my cell phone? A pink rhinestone lovers paradise.
Sometimes I think I am a tacky gay man trapped in a woman's body.
I was just able to download the podcast.
I agree with the top three.
Except that Laura does not have much creativity in her designs. The keep commenting on her craftsmanship, but do not seem excited about the actual designs. She has never won anything yet.
Vincent actually surprised me with a reasonable not crazy garment.
I wonder if Michael would have won again if he did not have immunity (which apparently Vincent does for next week).
See, I just don't like Kayne that much. Maybe, as Jane and Undi have said, he's just a little *too* similar to myself, but I think he is an obnoxious conniving queen who derives ENTIRELY too much pleasure from ripping people to shreds behind their backs.
Scratch that. We're BFF.
Kitzy. Babe. Pookypuff. The rhinestone phone...why? :)
See, Kayne really is a bit too bitchy for my taste. Same with Robert, and that's part of the reason I'm glad he's gone. Plus Robert had man-boobies.
I do love Kayne's hair though.
Don't those rhinestones hurt when you're talking though?
Everytime they show Kayne on camera he has that real phoney smile on him.

Bitchiness is so necessary in this profession. The show wouldn't be good without it.
It's necessary in EVERY creative profession, honey

Substitute Santino and Andre for Kayne and Robert and I'll join you!
Isn't Santino a big ol' breeder, though? (I just assume that Kitzy meant a gay bar...)
Why the rhinestone phone? Because it's so ugly that it's almost cute. The same reason I love Mommie Dearest--it is trashy and wonderful.
The thing about Kayne is that he's either divine or completely off the mark. His evening wear is always spectacular, but then you have monstrosities like the dress from the dumpster diving challenge. Much as I love his bitchy, coniving ways, I don't think he's long for this competition.
And if I see Angela make one more "fleurchon" I am going to shove it down her throat and kick her ass all the way to Jubilee Jumbles. They were cute on the Audrey Hepburn dress and the INC suit, but enough is enough.
I would seriously wear just about anything designed by Laura, Michael, and Uli this season. And while Robert has been a bit dull, his very first West Side Story-esque dress was my favorite for that week. It was just beautiful and much more inovative than Keith's bed sheet dress.
And I thought that Heidi said there was no immunity next week?

Santino claims to be bi.
Also, on Jeffrey's MySpace he checks off "not sure" under Orientation (yes, I am lame enough to have investigated the PR designer's pages). Is he still married? I know he has a son.

Haha, we're on the same page. I originally typed that in, but deleted it when I thought about some professions I know!
I bet he's hung like a mule.
I'm with you all the way, Kitz. I'd like to sew a fleurchon to her f*cking eyelid. Doesn't she have any semblance of a design palette in her head? Has she no range? I realize she lives on some freaking commune kibbutz thing somewhere, but does that mean that she needs to put a stylized cabbage on EVERYTHING she makes?

Totally! In a way, I think it would be kind of interesting to see what he could do with a full collection given the time to create one.

Who? Santino? Jeffrey? Tim?

How Angela wasn't voted off for the Jubilee Jumbles mess, I will never know.
This season has been a bit difficult, because personality-wise I generally like all of the designers. It was a sad day in Kitzy-land when they got rid of Bradley. He was very inconsistent, but he was so delightfully weird. Same with Malan. I'd love to figure out what the deal with that British accent is.
Jaily, I'm cracking up from all your posts-as usual!

yea, theres NO immunity next week. and it makes sense because its hard to judge this challenge with all the women looking different and liking different things.
and angela can design. her designs just dont match your taste. im that way with jeffrey (with the exception of last night). he can deff design and he proved that last week but i dont like his designs for most people. but it works for him
i'm watching the rerun of last night's episode right now. It's at the part where theyr'e having brunch and passing around pictures. Jeffrey was actually a pretty hot guy back in the day.
