Dottie - re: the mind games - seems like it worked! They were all definitely agitated by this twist (and rightfully so). It was fun when Laura called Angela out to remind her that the challenge she won was actually a team challenge...And she's right. I bet Laura and Michael had as much to do with the final design. Imagine if Laura and Michael weren't there to edit? We might have had a pair of trousers made completely out of fleurchon, with a bubble skirt overlay.
I adored Laura's dress, but then, I adore Laura in general. I think this was a well-deserved win for her. She took the judges' comments to heart, had a little meltdown (fair enough), then brushed herself off, moved on from it, and worked hard to make an absolutely stunning garment. If I were tall and built like a Q-tip, I would wear that dress in a heartbeat!
Michael can do no wrong - this guy has got to be the nicest fellow on the show. Even when he had a bad week (couture) he admitted it. He's humble - realizes his shortcomings, but doesn't apologize for his talent either. And I think he really listens to Tim Gunn. He take constructive criticism well, and "makes it work." Not to mention, he is a very talented designer and his styling is always spot on.
Miss Kayne - oh Miss Kayne! I would have preferred to see the Neck get the boot, but I think it was Kayne's time. The front of the dress was really nice. The back looked trashy to me.
Uli - Uli is a one trick pony. I really like everything she puts together - it's always so pretty and fresh, but she needs to mix it up or she's going to be in trouble! When she was showing the dress to Tim Gunn, I thought it was strapless, and it was cute with the little frog closure. But then I saw those sleeves. Didn't dig 'em. I hope she stays next week, but I think she may be on thin ice.
Jeffrey - Don't even get me going on this ensemble. Atrocious. He's another one-trick pony (hohum, another Holla-back outfit...la de da) but his stuff isn't usually pretty. The only challenge I think Jeffrey should have won was the garbage challenge. Other than that, I haven't been overly impressed.
Angela and Vincent - Anglea's just strange. That outfit was just ugly. Vincent's could have been pretty - think summer garden party - if it were longer and it fit his model. I have to give him some mercy since Jia is a Q-tip, and Jarvi is a little more curvy, so it didn't really fit. If that dress were longer, and didn't have the cape - with the right styling choices it could have been kind of pretty. The black eyelet was interesting.
And Angela shoving fabric scraps into the box purse (which doesn't need fabric to fluff it up!) was classic funny.
I'm sticking by my favorite top three - Uli, Laura, Michael. I think Michael definitely has a spot. Either of the girls could potentially be ousted by the Neck, which makes me want to vomit.
They didn't share much on next week's challenge. I wonder what it will be?

Alison never won a challenge, tho she should have won the doggie challenge, and came close a couple of other times. She definitely should not have left in the first place. VERY talented young lady.
Bradley never won, and I believe he was kicked off the show on his birthday.
Robert lost for the Maria dress the first week to Keith.

Doodle, I think Bradley pulled out that Daniel knock-off (the dog challenge, I believe) the day of his birthday and he was not eliminated. I can't remember which challenge he got eliminated on though.

he was eliminated for his "Cher" design. Probably not his birthday week...I think he did pull that one out of his a**.

I can't figure out how/why Bradley was on the show in the first place. He was just plain odd.

"I assumed that all three of the designers to vote on (Bradley, Robert and Allison) had won challenges at least once."
Bradley won something? I guess I missed the bridal gown made out of hemp challenge.
"Michael can do no wrong - this guy has got to be the nicest fellow on the show. Even when he had a bad week (couture) he admitted it. He's humble - realizes his shortcomings, but doesn't apologize for his talent either."
You're right. And I was impressed how he kept his cool even when that little French f--k threw an EGG at his dress. Can you imagine the meltdown Jeffrey would have had? (and even though her ass was on a plane back to the states, he would have argued how Angela must have WILLED the egg to splatter onto his gown).
Michael is the epitome of grace under pressure. I also loved when he joked about how great black people look wearing white. lol.

May I ask this group a naive question about fashion merchandising? I take it that's a YES so here goes.
Given that one of the key laws of marketing, i.e. law of category, holds sway over so many product placements in various segments of industry, why must PR insist of looking for THE designer whose collection would meet the muster of the greatest portion of young American women? In other segments of industry, the conventional wisdom is that if you can't be #1 in a particular product category, then the next path is to create a new category in which you can reign. There is clearly a market segment that suits each designer’s forte. Moreover, each designer seems to be intimately familiar with his or her target audience. I write all this to simply suggest that Kayne will fare quiet well on the pageant circuit as another poster alluded to earlier. This is gonna come off as a bit insensitive, but he did Jon Bennet Ramsey damn proud this season.

It was nice to see Laura finally win, though I think she won simply because she had never won before. She always does very good work, but it's always just sort of okay for me.
I was glad to see Kayne go. He did some great work in the beginning, but his stuff just got progressively uglier and more bizzare.
I'm really rooting for Jeffrey - he is my favorite, and has been since the beginning. I think he's really fvcking good.
I think Michael is talented as well, but I don't think he should win. He falls into the same category as Laura for me.
And thank God Vincent is finally gone - he should have been eliminated the very first episode. And second. And third. And fourth. I have no idea why they kept him around for as long as they did - his designs were just as obnoxious and bizarre as he was.
I really like Ulli, but she's just keeps doing the same thing over and over. So talented, but I don't think she'll pull through.
As much as I love Jeffrey and he's my choice to win, I think the final two will be Laura and Michael. If that's the case, then I hope Laura wins.

did anyone see the tv preview that said there would be no final three and that all four would be judged for their runway shows? I think that is only fair... i really like that idea

The final four all show anyway as a decoy, don't they? Their inclusion just isn't broadcast on the show. Austin Scarlett and Kara Janx both showed at Bryant Park for that reason.
Kara's was, surprisingly, VERY cool! Saw it online last season. Wish I could've seen what Austin dreamed up. He disturbed me b/c he looked like the Church Lady but I loved his work. He's a designer for Amsale's luxury bridal gown line now, which is a good fit for him.

Kara's line was the best down the runway that day.

cheezedoodle, I am pretty sure the Olsen Twins remark was in reference to the judges' demand that Laura design something more youthful and less staid (and therefore more likely to be worn by said twins), not to Angela and Vincent. Of all the insulting things I can think of to call Angela and Vincent, "Olsen twins" is not anywhere near the top of the list. I'd call Vincent "Ryan O'Neal with crazy crack eyes and TMJ" way sooner, for example.

i think the quote from heidi is that they are not going down to a final "three"; so does that mean there will be two? i don't think they said a definitive number. i loved kara janx show last year.
