See, THAT is the Raúl I love. Not the one having fanboygasms over Spring Awakening. And yeah, it was really nice to hear him say something new, rather than repeat himself for the fiftieth time.
Yeah, heh, as soon as my mom was going on about it, I knew I was sorry I didn't get up. I think one of the only times she's said anything nice about him in the past year or so is when she was talking TO him. Immediately after the show, she was so wow-ed by the performance that she actually went to tell him he was wonderful. Usually it's, "... why is he making that noise?"

haha! I am always in awe of people who can be that eloquent in those types of settings.
In regard to Spring Awakening, we're all entitled to fangirl/boy-gasm once in awhile
That Drama Desk award speech from him was just amazing.
He can be so eloquent, when he chooses to be. In order to preserve that, he should probably be kept away from Spring Awakening for a while
hehe, ok so i just finally saw a clip of Taboo, and Raul. It made my giggle. I don't if i could look at him to same for a little while, lol!
Heh! Yep, Philip Sallon is definitely an interesting character. Which clip was it?
You know what? I like the orange tie. Then again, I love my school's colors (a terribly clashing maroon and orange), so maybe that's skewed my perception of hideous colors. I know some people who think that orange is a color that doesn't look good on anyone, but I think that sometimes it's doable.
Sexual gender or something like that
Oh, hehe, Sexual Confusion! I love that one... so ridiculous.

I would love to be in the audience with him at Spring Awakening after hearing his " I loooooooooooooooooooooooove that show"

The performance from the early show is up on their website. You just have to scroll down a bit- it's on the right hand side.

Okay, so, I'm jumping into this whole thread because I too have just completely come to adore him through "Company". I had seen him in shows before and just never "got" the obsession...and then I saw "Company" for the first time last year and I was totally infatuated. I've seen it somewhere so many times now, and it has far exceeded every other show in my mind this year, but his portrayal of bobby is just perfection.
i'm sure hoping that he's as amazing in real life as everyone makes him out to be on the boards (i'm sure that he is)! :)
After viewing his perfomance on Regis and Kelly, I was blown away. He has such a powerful voice and stage presence, I am now a Raúl fan.
I want to see the show very badly now.
I love Being Alive. such an amazing song.
Thanks, modeldiva!
That was great! I love the tie, I really do.
I'm trying to get the clip to play, but I keep getting some RealPlayer error that it can't connect or whatever. All I can get is one screenshot, so my mom and I are sitting here making fun of the tie. I mean, it's not just the tie, but that he wore the ORANGE tie with the BLUE shirt.
Anyway, thread Mac users, can you get the clip to work? I'm getting really frustrated. It tells me it's buffering and loading, but then I get an error.
Another "yellow jacket" interview that I hadn't seen before here:

Same questions from a not-very-good interviewer from Time Out, but some interesting and different answers from Raul and how he gets ready for his "ugly date" with Joanne.
Damn, he looked good this morning on CBS!
UGH. I updated RealPlayer and it still will not f'ing play. I know it's not a big deal, but I've been having so many internet issues lately that this is sort of the icing on the cake.

The angle of that video is somewhat unfortunate. Props for his ability to give a great interview, though.
I'm on a Mac too, and the video kept on breaking up. It took a couple of cycles through the commericals, but I finally got it to play all the way through. It downloads in chunks that the user can't control, I think, and there may be bandwidth problems on their end, which means maybe there are lots of people wanting to download, which is, afterall, probably a good thing.
I've been wondering if maybe the suit is an Armani, but the tie....well, to be kind, it probably complements his great green/hazel eyes.

Okay, why the f isnt this working. The little picture of him singing his gorgeous heart out is coming up, but then it prompts me to download windows media or realplayer. I already have windows media, it just hasn't been working for videos lately, and its still not working obviously...
someone needs to upload this to that other site

on a happier note - I'm glad these tv performances have piqued people's interest in the show!
Lexi, what's the picture in your avatar? I like it.

Thanks! It's from one of John William Waterhouse's paintings of Ophelia. I would like a large print of it for my dorm room next fall but can't seem to find anything even remotely big. Waterhouse has been one of my favorite painters for years, and I'd encourage everyone to check out his work.
I guess I could relate this back to the thread in saying that I bet Raul Esparza likes a good Picasso.

I feel like I've seen that picture in person before
I LOVE Picasso. I became infatuated with his work when I was like eight.
Finally watched the video; I used Windows Media, so the quality was crappy, but it was a great performance. I'm so excited for him -- I think he's gonna win.
I've been warming up my voice everyday so when he wins, I'll be able to scream at the top of my lungs without damaging them.
