Yaaaaaaay puppies. I'll be there. I'm seeing a matinee at SPF, then heading over to Broadway Barks before Gypsy.

I feel like tickets won't sell out that fast, simply given that going requires travel.

I love the new Kristen story.

I saw Gypsy last night and OMG, but... like Kate, I kept thinking "EVERYTHINNGG'S COMMING UP BOBBIEEESSS!".

Personally, I think he could pull it off

This is becoming a problem.

He sang Everything's Coming Up Roses at this year's "Miscast" benefit. WHAT I WOULD NOT GIVE.

ETA: oops, I was mixed up. Rose's Turn, of course!

In “Side by Side by Sondheim”, the song “ Could I Leave You” is sung by the guy (David Kernan on the OCR). I think it works even better sung by a man than a woman. I got to see Larry Kert perform it in LA and he was phenomenal. Hearing Raúl do it would be outstanding!

And....visualizing Raúl singing “Ladies Who Lunch” is suddenly seared on my brain. Thank you for that, I think…. re: The Official Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' Thread, Part 3

Heh, did we do a bad thing in mentioning a certain gossip site?

Raul sang "Rose's Turn" at this year's Miscast benefit. I would LOVE to have seen that (or heard it...hint to anyone who might be reading).

Could you imagine an Adam/Raul "Take Me or Leave Me" duet?? I mean Adam did it with Tracy, so it can't be too far off. God, the amount of diva in that performance would blow the roof off, hehe!

'Scuse me, tink, but just because I said so, the Doyle revival boys must do it first. Then Adam.
Micheal Cerveris singing Take Me or Leave Me is more "WTF" than brilliant, but.. SCREW IT.

Remember, PWAP also gets to moon Benny.

Raul and Michael doing Take Me or Leave Me? You know Raul can hit those high notes too, with that gravely thing that he does. If you thought "Under Pressure" was entertaining...

wow, that would be funny. So Raul is definitely the Maureen?

Okay, so the news WAS super exciting. Yay. re: The Official Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' Thread, Part 3 I'm just sad I'll have already left NYC and therefore will not be able to go to Williamstown. Ah, well.

Wow, mentioning DataLounge was clearly a mistake. I thought we could handle it. Apparently not.

I don't really consider myself to be someone who has overly conservative viewpoints on discretion, but I have to say that... well, that's a gossip site. Gossip happens. I do it. There's a lot to gossip about this business. But, there's a REASON you don't see a lot of it here on BWW. I find talking about that stuff PUBLICLY, on a message board that wants a decent reputation, really disrespectful to someone we, as fans, claim to respect very much. I won't pretend I'm a saint and act as though I take issue with what is said, but it's about where you say it. And please don't mistake this all for saying I'm against being a little silly, either, because I (obviously, I think) am not.

ANYway. Ms. LuPone was diviiiiiine.

Well said, Em! I've never even logged onto datalounge, but I think that is a good thing.

Did your mind wander at all tonight, picturing Raul performing instead of Patti? :)

re: The Official Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' Thread, Part 3

so...quick story...

i went over to broadway barks today, and towards the end as i was walking down 44th street, i suddenly realized that the last group of presenters were all lined up by the st. james theatre (you would think in all the years i've been attending this i would have known that's where they all come from, but i didn't). i was with one of my colleagues from work who didn't know who anyone was, so i was trying to casually and quietly name some of the actor's on line.

about 3/4 of the way into the line, i spotted audra mcdonald and stopped for a second to point her out, but once i started walking again, i wasn't paying any attention to what was happening infront of me and the next thing i knew i turned my head around to look where i was going...and i was literally in raul's face - whoa.

it was only for a split second, but i gasped initially just because there was someone in my face! but then i realized who i was looking at and (according to my friend) stood there and gasped several more times before finally continuing down the block sputtering sentence fragments trying to explain who he is...because i'm really that big of a nerd. awesome.

in any case, i circled the block and went into the 45th street side of the alley so i wouldn't have to walk by that line again, but i missed him actually presenting. i did briefly see him after everything was over and i must say (as i have my weekly fangirl moment) - he was looking especially pretty today. re: The Official Raúl E. re: The Official Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' Thread, Part 3

lol, Tink, actually, my mind mainly wandered during Gotta Get a Gimmick," because ALL I could think of was Mano singing it with Jacoby and Kudisch. re: The Official Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' Thread, Part 3

Kaaaaate. You should have said something! re: The Official Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' Thread, Part 3 I was walking that way, though; I must have missed him by like five minutes. re: The Official Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' Thread, Part 3 I had to leave the presentations early, though, to get dinner before Gypsy. Raul + puppy = re: The Official Raúl E. Esparza 'Spread the Love' Thread, Part 3
