Duh, the obvious solution is that you put it in your backpack. Then, when an adoring fan realizes that he or she has forgotten a sharpie, you can heroically whip it out and save the day!
I really hope the release date is true!

"I was thinking of carrying one around, but oh god, how conceited would that be?"
The cynical me says that he's just saying that to garner praise from adoring fans, but the nice me says that's adorable.
I'm excited for the cast recording as well. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it!
Hehe, fishing for compliments, perhaps!
No, Raúl, you're not conceited. And we love you!
There.
Oh, I could totally see that as fishing for compliments. Which, in a way, is still cute. He HAS to know that we adore him.
Merry Christmas to you, too, Lexi!
He's a smart cookie.
When I saw the show last week, it made me laugh so much because I was like "Raul!" and he comes over and goes "so, good show tonight, RIGHT?!" He's obviously sensed my adoration.
Edited for stupidity. I typed "last night" instead of "last week."
"And then "But what if no one wanted my autograph?" and mimed like, coming out all eager to sign when no one was interested. It was adorable."
I totally just AOLed at that.
Yay, cast recording!
I adore Raul. A lot.

I saw Company last Wednesday, was completely unaware of what the show was about, and loved it! I hope to see it again when I return to NYC after winter break.
I was completely blown away by Raùl, and to think that they had been recording and performing for two days....wow. I can't even believe it. Incredible. I was concerned for his vocal cords at 'the scream;' I'm even more concerned now that I know his voice had been SO used that week. But yay for Raùl, and I can't wait to see the show again!
Merry Christmas! Or what's left of it....
and happy holidays!
Yay!! When he screamed like that in The Normal Heart, I was just like "save the voice!!" heh.
What's sad is that I was expecting the scream yet I still was brought to the edge of my seat and couldn't relax until dinner. The Normal Heart scream I can't even imagine live, I think I'd probably lose it. I guess the similarities between the two is one reason I chose to take my Normal Heart script to the stagedoor last Monday. I love that he goes all out like that though, even though I worry for his voice...
LOLL The sharpie thing is adorable! And EEEE I'm so excited for the release date!!
And I hope I don't get yelled at, but I've read the Normal Heart this year and LOVED it, and I know Raul was in it...is any video or audio from his performance available?
There are some very interesting interviews where Raul talks about TNH, but not any *legal* footage that I know of.
There's an interesting (if brief) interview with Raul about The Normal Heart on... that unmentionable site.
Anyway, I've been digging up additional Company reviews, many obviously from more minor sources, if anyone cares to read them. Apologies in advance for stretching out the page!

More positive than negative, it seems, including lots of praise for Raul. (Yes, I was really, really bored.)

Thanks!
I wonder why Potomac Stages reviewed it. I didn't realize their audience had enough crossover with New York theatre-goers to even warrant the effort, heh.
Yaaay.

Okay, seriously, I'm done now.
If you haven't contributed to my discussion of Raul and Company, go to the thread "PalJoey's Catching Up on Theater Week, Parts I and II."
My mom just played Barbra Streisand's version of Being Alive for me. It has this samba quality to it. It's awful.
Samba? Why in all hell....? Yikes!
Hi PJ.
Wow, so they finally put NY1 up.
*loves Raul*
*marvels*
I had a dream about Raul last night. That hasn't happened in forever and ever. How random.
It was a...very strange...dream.
Do tell.
Well, I have a tendancy to dream about events that are going to occur in my life, or events that I want to occur. I'm going to NYC in a couple of weeks and I'm going to see Company, so I guess this dream was sort of dealing with my anxiety about seeing it and going to the stage door and whatnot. Emcee and Fantab were also in the dream, as you will soon see.
Dream: So, all three of us went to see Company and we rushed and got seats in the front row. Very exciting. However, for some reason there were some obnoxious people near us who I happened to know somehow who kept talking and one of the female performers actually stopped in the middle of the show and started singing about how rude it is to talk during the show. I was mortified. At some point during the show, Raul winked at me. During the show, I had to go to the bathroom, so I (and some guy who I know, but I can't remember who) went and somehow ended up running into Raul there. We had a nice chat, but then the dream jumped to later in the evening. After the show, me, Emcee, and Fantab went to the stage door and someone else was there, I think it was Lexi, not sure. Anyway, we sort of waited off to the side, away from the crowd, for Raul to come out. He came out and came over to us and we spoke to him. I was very shy and was trying to think of profound things to say. Then, for some reason, this random lady told me and Raul and another random person to get in her car, because she was going to take us for a drive. This was not at all menacing; I think this was someone he knew. So, we get in the car and Raul sits in front. We drove around New York and I kept trying to talk to Raul. All of a sudden, the woman decided we should fly, so she flies the car all over the city and we stare and the beautiful lights and all the while Raul just sits in the front quietly and I sit in the back while the lady talks. Then the dream ended and I woke up. I don't know what happened to Fantab or Emcee. When I woke up, my body was all tense and somewhat contorted. I had to remind myself how to move.
The end.
I know some of the dream was just speculation about the future, because some of this could actually happen, but...flying? Maybe some reference to Chitty? I don't know. Maybe Mandi can help me interpret it.
Hee, I love you!
Elphie! Way to leave us in the dust....
