Mannnooooo.
That was an essential post.
heh. He didn't respond to my last message, but there was nothing to say. The silly banter is one of the only things that's made me smile all day, though, so I'm glad for it.
I love how silly he is in his messages.
I'm just glad to be past thinking I insulted him. If it upset him *that* much, he wouldn't tease me about it.
It's quite pathetic how much his messages entertain me. They're just...so weird! And half the time they don't even make sense. In one of the last ones I got, Mano tried to give me some words of advice, and all I could do was giggle.
Oh, sage Mano.

I don't know how anyone could take being compared to Raul as an insult.
I think there's a desire amongst people who create to be original, and different. Yes, if you have to be compared, you'd want to be compared to someone as brilliant as Raul, but I suppose there's not really much desire to be LIKE anybody in the first place.
I mean, not to say that I think Raul's take on Toby would be ANYTHING like Mano's, or that Mano's take on roles Raul has played would be anything like Raul's -- I don't mean to say they're carbon copies of one another, but they both share the traits that make an actor most attention worthy to me.

When there is so much more for someone to be compared to (especially something like performance) - that makes it completely different.
I didn't mean it like... "psh, you're just another Raul." Not that I'd hate another Raul. They DO look alike, but that's not the part that was meant to be the compliment, even if Raul IS drop dead gorgeous. I mean, the man went to Paris to prepare for Sunday in the Park. He learned to paint so he could see the world like his character might see the world. I just really like smart, thoughtful actors.

It just makes me nervous...Sweeney Todd, Company, AND Sunday in the Park with George? Is there enough "room" on Broadway for so much Sondheim?
