Yes, I am. I have three ideas I'm working on right now, but the one that's going to make Broadway is my favorite. haha. Actually, it's probably more of an off-Broadway show. But [title of show] got on Broadway, so I'm not gonna give up that easily! haha.
Going to NYC for the 1st (real) time! Seeing Next to Normal, Wicked, and Jersey Boys. If anyone has a suggestion for rush Wednesday matinee (something not mainstream) please PM me! :D

Drama- Dollywood is a...special kind of theme park. I always say that I have met some of the most talented people I have ever known here and some of the least talented people I have ever known. But it's a good paycheck every 2 weeks! :)

Genius-- Keep writing and cast us :)

I agree, the student board has been DEAD. I can see the tumbleweeds...

I'm a junior in high school (yay?) and plan to be a theatre major like pretty much everyone else on this board, lol. I only have four weeks of summer left which is devastating, but then I get to jump into our school's musical Anything Goes!

Drama- I think I could kill you I'm so jealous! Oh my gosh! I'm going to NYC for the first time this fall, and Hair is definitely on my list :)

I'm going to use this as an excuse to make random threads to liven up the board.

Drama, I looked at your avatar and thought we got a new member! Your new headshots are great!

faithzilla, I'm also a junior in high school and plan to be a musical theatre major. My high school did Anything Goes my freshman year. I got a callback for Hope, but was cast as one of Reno's Angels. Tragic story is I had to drop out because I couldn't make the first two performances. Ok I'll stop typing now. :)
"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

You are too gorgeous, Drama! It's impossible to pick just one! But I think my favorite would have to be the one you chose as your avatar, with the seventh one being my second favorite.

Drama, I love the first one! They're all great though.

I'm back at work today too. Oklahoma closed this weekend, so now I've got a week full of Millie rehearsals. Then next week I move down to Ocean City to start Tom Sawyer rehearsals. Whew!

What about everyone else?

Just saw The Last 5 Years over at a community college done by two alumni from my high school. T'was delightful.

Stocking up on Musical Theatre pieces so I'm prepared for the undoubtedly crazy assignment my Musical Theatre teacher will give me next year, requiring me to bring in a "squillion"(kudos to Susan Blackwell) songs so he can pick out one that he deems "Audition Worthy". A lot of work, but worth it.
No one wants to see a musical called Thoroughly Modern Mildred.

Last week of summer school! I just bought Respect for Acting by Uta Hagen today. I've read bits of it before but I just got paid and wanted to read the whole thing. I have the acting potion of my musical theatre dance class tomorrow. And my parents just bought tickets for August: Osage County! August 14th! I've been wanting to see this forever!
