Stockard, I own the Time Life 6 CD "Ultimate Rock Ballads" set. Mostly 80's stuff. A great 80's mix! They have a 17 CD set also.

Would "Video Killed the Radio Star" by The Buggles be eligible? It was released in September 1979, but it didn't really hit its stride 'til 1980.

**both are covers, but these respective remakes were big in the '80s and are now considered the standards.

Stagey, if I recall correctly, Video Killed The Radio Star was the unofficial start of "the 80s", so any compilation would be incomplete without it!
