I really don't want to read all 8 pages of this to see if any other sarcastic bastards have said this, but technically aren't YOU a houseguest too?
I think there's some bit about a contract and all that, sure you're providing a service... but you aren't related to them, and you live in their house. So...
The mom called and said that Georgia girl will probably be asking me for a ride to the train station tonight, as she is supposed to start her new position at 8am tomorrow. She has to call the woman and see if she can move in tonight since getting there at 8 in the morning will be a problem. The woman didn't call for references. A friend of the pain-in-the-butt interviewed with this woman three months ago and decided that she didn't want the position. She has had someone else for the past three months and is now hiring again. This poor girl is probably going into a ROUGH position. We should probably talk to her about it. We are not going to.
Absolutely not. Let her learn on her own.
I see her back in your house in 3 weeks.
Rath, I have a feeling it will be sooner than that.
I originally typed 2 weeks.
You should always go with your first choice!! Didn't you learn anything in school?! (LOL)
My gut is always wrong.
And Ckeaton, there is a BIG difference between my position and hers. I was asked to move in. I care for the child five days a week. I cook a few times a week. I do therapy with their child daily and take him to his numerous doctor appointments. She was here for a year and they were happy to see her go. While she was here, her boyfriend stole their credit card and charged $800. This was after he stole their car while they were all on vacation and she promised she was no longer seeing him. She is the reason they decided not to use au pairs anymore. She asked if she could stay one night. This is not someone they want in their lives, but they feel sorry for her. I don't think she gets that. She is not a smart girl.
crunches will take care of that, dear.

Once (if!) she leaves, change all of the locks.
considering that new bit of information, jg, i say kick miss russia 2005 to the curb.
You mean this houseguest is Mrs. Russia? The one who stole the crown from Mrs. Costa Rica?!

Huh? Jersey, I'm sure they're good people, but why wasn't she tossed out on her @ss right then and there? And was he arrested?
Blueroses, they should just change the locks while she's still there. Then as she steps out, they can just leave her stuff in a pile on the front lawn. She might actually get the hint then.

Yeah, this latest bit of info has really made me lose any respect I had for the family. I mean, it's one thing to feel sorry for someone, and it's quite another to be a doormat and to put your own family at risk by taking in someone who associates with criminals.
Yikes.

I hear ya. It's not about trying to get someone deported at all. After what her boyfriend did, who knows what he's capable of? What if he comes back and robs them blind...or worse? They have a young child to protect. This woman should NOT have access to this house when people aren't there. The locks should have been changed as soon as that happened.
She's taking advantage of kind-hearted people.
