Jane - our taveling companions consider noon a good time to wake up, wo we usually arrange for lunch at around one. You may have noticed I like getting up early, so the mornings are usually ALL mine! Is it difficult to get there from mid-town? We're staying at the Paramount.
Is the Paramount the one on 46th across from the Imperial? Some friends have stayed there a few times; said it's a lovely boutique hotel!
It's simple as pie to get there-one subway ride of about 20 minutes-the train lets us out at the entrance to BBG! The earlier the better-the place opens at about 8 I think, and there are less people there when it's early. the free day is Tues. otherwise it's $5.

Tiff - that's actually good to hear. I've read some really scathing things about it! We got a SCREAMING deal - 120 a night! - so it will have to be pretty bad not to make it worth it
Jane - perfect! I would rather avoid Tuesday, as presumably it will be more crowded. We can go in time to be there when the gates open - or even earlier, and find a place for 'coffee talk'. I can definitely commit to doing it, and we'll just make arrangements closer to the time to accomodate our scheduling. Maybe we can firm up plans on Sunday evening the 2nd!
Great idea! yay, I can't wait, and it should be just around tulip time!
We-ell, my friends did enjoy it very much, but they're the types to put style over quality or value.
(I say that with a bit of affection and a smidge of exasperation.) I would put greater stock into the reviews at tripadvisor.com. I never make a hotel booking without reading this first!

Moreso than the ranking, I look at what criticisms and compliments people have for the hotel, and check out the candid photos if there are any!

Yes, that's the tulip walk! A little further down, where you see that roof, is a food stand, and nice tables and umbrellas. If it's warm enough, I like to spend some time over coffee right there!

Jane - oh, ok - if you insist!
Tiff - I've read those, which were'nt bad. The REALLY negative comments were on this board - so you KNOW I took them with a dune-full of salt!
Negativity? On this board? What on EARTH are you on, DG?!

What's shaking here, kids and hags?
*yawn*
No kidding, DD.
I'll never look at cocoa puffs the same way again, Marlene!
She had a point to make and by God she was going to make it.
What was the point?
Patience is a virtue...an unattainable one, when BWW takes forever to load.
Is it just in Vancouver, or are there ridiculously strong winds in Seattle too? I can see large branches swaying and my windows are rattling really loudly.
The few trees we have in Kansas seem to be standing still.
Funny, I didn't realize that normally the wind patterns would stretch from coastal areas, down to Kansas, and then over to the northern part of the opposite ocean! :-P
This is so disconcerting though - we apparently had a windstorm last week and I didn't notice it even though I even went out that day. I thought the shaking window was from my obese neighbours upstairs stomping around (we've dealt with this before) until I heard the wind and saw the trees swaying!
I wonder if I'll wake up in Oz tomorrow...
Evening ladies and beyotches. Just popping in before I have to go to a board meeting.
What, this thread died today?
Just got home from set. The more I'm there as a PA, the less I want to do it. Why can't a producer job just fall into my lap?
Jackson Signs Without Reading Script
Pulp Fiction star Samuel L. Jackson was so amused by the title of new movie Snakes On A Plane, he signed up without reading the script. The movie features an assassin who intends to kill a passenger on a flight by releasing a batch of deadly snakes. Jackson explains, "I didn't even read the script - I just saw the title, 'Snakes on a Plane' and said 'Ok, good. I'm there.' You have got to love that. That's exactly what it is - 500 poisonous snakes released on a flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles. They are (set free) on a time release half-way there, so we can't go back, we've got to keep going. It's fun!"
Oh shut up, Samuel. I did a day or two on that set, and I have the call sheets. The working title was "Flight 93". "Snakes On A Plane" didn't come to be until well into post-production. Shut up.
YWIW, you must deal with a lot of Hollywood types, living in LA! Want to tear your hair out?
I do my best to avoid them. That is why I live where I live. I was also never much into the club scene. Some studio employees live in the good old Culver City, but it is best known for families and the quality of life. In many ways, it is like living in a small town smack dab in the middle of Los Angeles.
How you doing today Tiff. Does the title of this thread mean that you are not going to be the next action hero?
