I'm all about Elia winning. From a production standpoint, Sam is too much like Harold - him winning would be boring.
From a merit standpoint - he has been consistently good, and deserves, if not to win, a shot at the final two at least.
But for me, Elia all the way!

I would love to see Elia take it all, but I think Sam is the winner too. He's been the most consistent, and with the exception of the watermelon gross-out dessert, most of his dishes looked and sounded quite good. Plus Sam has loads of experience.
But I still like Marcel. If our little Wolverine won, I'd be cool with that.
I don't think Ilan stands a chance, but I suppose stranger things have happened.
If Elia won however, I'd be thrilled.

The thing that bothers me with Sam is that he could have easily stopped the Cliff/Marcel rumble. And he chose not to. Yes, I'm aware they were drinking at the atmosphere was goofy...but even the judges asked why he didn't do anything and he couldn't come up with a good answer. I actually used to quite fancy his work in the beginning, but now, I hope the Elia wins. She doesn't have an attitude problem, she works hard, and she is a pretty damn good chef.

I think any one of those people should have been mature enough to say that they were taking things too far. Sam is the biggest hypocrite stating how "adolescent" others can be while he just pushed everyone to do that and sat by to watch. He didn't even shave his head after convincing the others to do it. Elia, the good Christian, could have said something as well and Ilan was holding the camera! They all are pretty done in my book, they proved their immaturity all too well.
As for who will make it to the end, Ilan and Elia should go next. Elia can't even take pressure and her little fits in the kitchen and giving up prove she is not ready for this. Ilan is fairly inconsistent and just was never a strong chef. The final two should be Marcel and Sam for consistency and good skills in the kitchen. However, I think it is plain who I want to win it.

He does remind me of a Wolverine, but weirder.
I still like TWoP's assessment of Marcel as the Heat Mizer.
Here's a very interesting interview with Marcel - he comes across as very mature, and tells an interesting story about getting a bottle smashed on his head by a crazed fan of the show...

i read that article... i'm still rooting for Marcel to win...
I did. I loved how the judges cringed when they started to complain about Marcel. I loved when they said they didn't care what went on in the kitchen.
I like Marcel, but I have to admit-his appearance is kind of creepy.

The selections were obvious. I do not like the guy, but he is very creative.
I lost a lot of respect for Elia when she started to slam Marcel.

WW, I agree, but she just fizzled over the last few epispodes.
I thought that a chef was in control of the kitchen! How can Marcel be an executive chef?
spoiler
Elia, Ilan and Sam acted like such brats towards Marcel... though Sam does deserve to be in the finale over Ilan, i'm just happy that Marcel is there...

SPOILERS AHHHHHH STAY AWAY BOO!!!!!!
Okay I totally called Elia going home watching the episode and also called Sam staying with Marcel or Ilan filling the second slot, leaning more towards Marcel competing with Sam. When Elia was sent packing I saw that happening, but how did SAM go home when he was such a good chef first off, secondly when put side by side with ILAN?! Did not see that one coming! Great episode, hope Marcel takes this one home!
A little part of me is sad that Sam is no longer in the game. The other part of me hopes that Marcel will find a way to win just so Ilan can go cry in a corner.
But you know something, if Marcel doesn't make it in Top Chef, he'll have a good career as a rapper. The kid's got some mad beat skills.

That video never ceases to make me laugh, its so funny and yet with this odd ghetto-sophistication to it......
Last night actually had some great suspense. I actually teared up with Padma let Sam go. Padma was upset. I am glad to see Sam go. I wish Ilan had gone too. The finale will be a real compettion with more heat than last years. WOO HOO! It doesn't look like there is a Reunion show. That stinks.

"I am glad to see Sam go."
Me too. What a passive-aggressive f-ck he turned out to be. No love lost on my end.
No reunion show?! That really blows. The Bravo reunion shows are the best!
I know I'm being melodramatic, but I've lost all faith in this show. First last week's episode, and then last night. It's not about the food anymore, and it never really was to begin with. None of the four from last night deserve to be a Top Chef. My love for Elia went out the window with that pathetic last-minute attempt to throw Marcel under the bus (forgive me for invoking the beaten-to-death phrase this show loves so much), and Ilan and Sam are just as bad for pretending like they had nothing to do with it.
I hope Marcel wins, but neither of them is a Top Chef, and the final four or even five contestants from last season would put them to shame.
I'm going to watch, obviously, but I'm really, really disappointed in the show for letting food take a back seat to this crap.

blue, last season's finale was amazing! It's almost an insult to have this one compare.
I think I need to go back and watch all of season 1 - I miss them all, even Tiffani!
It does make me question the validity of the show that the two auguably least likable contestants who just HAPPEN to have an intense rivalry with each other are the last two chefs standing.
Elia disappointed me last night. She seemed to be the only level-headed one until she let Ilan talk her into that pathetic attempt at dissing Marcel.
I was never a Marcel fan, but I despise that little weasel Ilan, so I'm more shocked than anyone to say...go Marcel!
I have to say...GO MARCEL as well, because who in their right mind could root for a narcisstic, mean, and immature brat like Ilan who instigated the whole "let's tell on Marcel" bit at the end of the episode. Sam might be able to cook, but he has no balls and is not a top chef. I still think Elia is a great cook and deserves to be in the final 2, more so than Marcel.
During the judging, it had almost seemed the producers told the judges that you have to pick one between the pairs of Elia and Marcel and Sam and Ilan because Gail said, "now that we have Elia and Marcel done, let's move on to Ilan and Sam."
I think Elia is the best cook on the show and it was a shame to lose her to higher ratings.
Also, I don't think last years finale was so great suspense wise. Everyone knew it was Harold from the beginning. I just think the personalities made it a richer, more satisfying show.
