I'm wondering why you all think Tom is such a jerk? He never came off jerky to me. I'm just curious.

IHeart, my opinions of Tom are somewhat biased because a good friend of mine worked with him before and I heard the stories from her. But, he does come off like an arrogant SOB sometimes.

I just dislike his whole attitude - no one can ever win with him. Their food was bad? Don't serve it. They didnt serve something because they thought it was bad? You have to stand behind your food. A lot of that might be the producers' doing, but he just always looks like he gets just a little too much enjoyment when he sees people struggling in the kitchen.

Plus, it feels holier than thou. I have plenty of friends who have eaten at CrapSteak, oops I mean Craftsteak and hated it. They send plenty of crappy food out while he's busy making shows and critiquing others.

I know he's a decent guy, but he always smirks when someone is squirming.

I love Cliff and was glad he won the quickfire. His ice cream looked delicious! I just like his whole demeanor. He's a fave along with Betty and Ilan. Betty is fantastic and it was nice to see her win, but Ilan's dish (the roasted corn) appealed to me.

Damn, how could I NOT have noticed Emily's missing eyebrows?! Creepy. I know she was being pissy, but the commentary was hilarious. I will miss the moody albino for her entertainment value, and I think she got a bum deal. Michael clearly sucks and deserved to go first.

I enjoy looking at the handsome, serious boy who made the fruit dish. Yum. But I can watch him with the sound off since he bores me to death. He reminds me of someone famous. Ben from Felicity, maybe?

The best way Betty could havr "fixed" the cookie problem was by making the mixture in two batches.
I make turkey meatballs all the time and they never come out as bad as the judges were saying.

Ground turkey is tricky though, if you are used to cooking ground beef. It is so easy to overcook ground turkey and dry it out. Plus, you have to season it well, or it tastes like dog food! Beef doesn't need quite so much attention. I wonder if time contraints, and general "used to cooking beef" is what made their turkey meatballs undesireable. On the flip side, if these are the best amaeteur chefs in America, then they should know how to make a proper turkey meatball!

I do think Betty perhaps made an honest mistake here. I really don't think she "cheated" intentionally. Plus, it wasn't the cookies that won them challenge - it was the pizza. And kudos to Marcel for sticking up for Betty after it all came out! When someone (not sure who it was) said "How would you know the calories are the same unless the nutritionist counts it...?" (or something along those lines). Marcel was all "if you know your nutrition guidelines, you know..." Yeah Marcel! I sort of like him - Wolverine Marcel.

The decision to not boot anyone was lame. I must admit I had a reaction to Betty. She seems to be doling out kisses as long as everything goes her way. I am sure she is a nice lady, but it appears she can turn when she is irritated. Especially since she attacked Marcel and then later said she felt bad and then threw a crying fit when asked about what she did to the cookies. She also left the converstaion altogether back at the house.

I also think she was playing dumb. I think they should have asked her point blank how many calories were in 2 tablespoons of sugar and see if she accurately knew. If she didn't know accurately, then you know she was lying and was just doing what she pleased.

I also am OVER people whining and complaining and then not naming names. That is such a weak move that is guised in "I'm bigger than that." Total BS. In my opinion the diabetic sexy chef should have packed his bags for playing games with the judges and making an overall crap-ass dinner for the kids.

Honestly, this is not even a cooking show to me. I am looking to see which contestant has some integrity. People with morals and ethics are dropping like flies.

I'm more or less done with this show. "You're all on probation, so watch it". Ooh, Tom, I'm scared.

He's just so pathetic.

There are 15 calories in a level Tablepoon of sugar. So 2 would be 30 calories. But she took out 2 egg whites. Which I believe was 90 calories in each. So she took out 180 but added 30 (if she used sugar and not Splenda) thus there may have been fewer calories.
Thing is she "tweeked" the recipe.
***EDITED***
Just checked one site stated each egg white has 16 calories

Mominator, you raise a good point and I think Betty was being smart and conscientious. However, her crying fit, to me, reeked of a lack of professionalism and was she was pouty for the rest of the night. Had she just explained her case calmly and succinctly, I would had more respect for her. She didn't need to turn into a victim/martyr and start shrieking that she never meant to hurt anyone.

Also, Josie needed to pipe down at the end. Her menu was crap too. What kid wants chicken parm. Give me a break!!!

I just don't get how sometimes people have no problem calling others out, and then other times "myteriously" don't. I can only imagine the editing that goes on in this show.

I agree about Betty, Bettyboy (ha). Everything's fine until something doesn't go her way, then come the tears.

And I still don't see what the big deal is about Sam, I really don't. Aside from him being a p***y.

there shouldn't be so much emphasis on honesty and integrity in a cooking competition. I don't like the way the show is being presented. Shouldn't it be about who is the best Chef? I'm all for good character in a person but not on a cooking show.

But the question I have is who used the olive oil squirt bottles? They either showed it too fast or I didn't see any faces.

They showed the oil squirt bottle on the range. no people in the shot. would have to be a team who cooked something in a skillet.

the average egg white contains about 15 calories. the yolk is worth about 75.

Josie's team should've made chicken nuggets or chicken fingers. I didn't eat chicken parmesan until I was in my late teens.

The sexy chef is damn sexy, but stupid.

I think Ilan's one major cutie. He's getting a lot of camera time, too. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I'm glad Cliff won the quickfire challenge. That was a hard one, and I'm glad more than a few people pulled it off.

I don't know who should've went home.

It was Carlos who won the Quickfire with his sunflower seed/carrot bar or whatever it was. Didn't look too appealing to me, but it was pretty creative
