Well, they have gone off-book, and that doesn't bother me. (I found the show before I found the books. I'm not a vampire-genre geek, I just love this show for itself.)
But the thing about Bill and Portia...well, they hinted at it in Season one. So that's a fairly sure thing it will come up again. When Andy and Bud go to Bill's house to question him about Gran's death, and Andy says "I'm Andy Bellefleur," Bill noticeably says, "BELLFLEUR?" He knows the name quite well. Come on people. Bill had kids, remember? The boy died, but the girl did not. (On the show. I cannot remember if it's the same in the book, actually.) The twist in the book was its own, but if this is the direction they're going, it will still make for some angst and drama, in any case...
Oy vey.
(And yes, who doesn't love Tara! Lafayette was killed off in book 1. But Nelsan Ellis does such a fab job creating and evolving this character, it would be blasphemous to get rid of him. And he's from Chicago. Yee-haw!)
"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had the practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." --Alice in Wonderland
