Oh, you've gotta love Edge, that beanie wearing, foot stomping genius!
I do enjoy Adam though...much more after hearing Bono's story from the R&RHoF about him shielding him at that concert w/ the death threats, etc. And he's been looking pretty sharp lately, I think.
Anyway, I still maintain that the whole NC thing was a bit of a farce, this Susie person is made-up entirely, and he's a big closet queen...But maybe that's just me.
Oops, didn't mean to leave you hanging. I didn't realize you responded. (I'm sure you've been waiting for my reply with bated breath, right? Right???)
Anyway, off to lunch with the folks. Will likely be back on today. When are you off work?
Toodles! (Aww, I miss Ellie. She used to say "Toodles"...)
Ciao.
Damn straight I was (waiting w/ baited breath, that is)! It's not very often one of my U2 ladies is on while I'm at work to help keep me amused...speaking of which, since the last person in the office (besides good ol' Napoleon) just left, I'm kicking off right now (even though I was just "a smidge" late this morning).
I'll be on later, I'm sure. I've got the house to myself tonight. It's going to be me, a brownie sunday, and MLB gameday! Woohoo! What a way to spend a Friday night! *tear*
Hee...what's funny is you said that at 4 o'clock your time, and now 3 hours later at 4 o'clock MY time, you're STILL ONLINE!
Mabel, I'm on The Killers mailing list and I get all their concert news, and it makes me so sad to read about all their upcoming gigs. If I were in the U.S., I would totally go to that music fest with you!
Tiff, I'm more of an Edge girl as well.
I wish I could watch baseball here. When I'm in the U.S. I watch the Braves whenever their games are aired (which is pretty often, thanks to Ted Turner and TBS). So that sounds like a good Friday night to me!
Right...baseball...*eyes glaze over*
Hey, how 'bout the NHL coming back? Eh? Eh??
Awww, the Braves game just started. I shall leave it on in your honor, Elphie!
Those damn Red Sox are losing! MLB Gameday gets so frustrating when they're loosing!...Seeing "Run-Scoring Play" up on the screen for 1 full minute before you find out just how bad it is.
I'm really bummed about The Killers. I'd love to see them, but I've set myself a $30 limit to see them. Oh, and I read somewhere on-line today that they turned U2's invitation down to open the 3rd leg in favor or doing their own smaller headlining tour and heading back into the studio to work on their second album! GRRRR!!! Couldn't they wait until December? Also, I read this little tidbit and thought it was kind of cool...Brandon Flowers (who just got married, btw) was in the heart at the Elevation concert in Vegas. Isn't that kind of crazy? In the heart, as a fan, then by the next tour, you've formed a group, released a Grammy nominated album, and toured in support of the band you saw a few years ago!!! Cool stuff!
Ugh! 4-zip! BOOOO!!! Damn you, David Wells!!!
I'd heard about the NHL coming back...is that for sure? Have they sorted everything out?
Yup, it's for sure! Now they've just finalized their draft picks, and they need to decide what to do with their restricted free agents.
F*CK! I just got a called from RV, asking if I could PA tomorrow for a commercial involving Robin Williams and a bear! 7 hours, $200 flat rate, and I'm working 6 hours at the pharmacy at near-minimum wage instead!
F*CK!!
Robin Williams and a bear?! And you can't call in sick at the pharmacy or something??? I wouldn't want to miss that commercial if I were you!
Sorry, hockey just doesn't do it for me.
And sorry about the Sox, mabs!
Well, sorry bout the Braves...they're loosing 2-0 in the first!
And yeah, isn't there any way to call in sick...or quit! Geez, I'd kick around for FREE to watch Robin Williams and a bear film a commercial!
Meh. The Braves are so far ahead that they can afford to lose a game or two. And I'm predicting a comeback in the next few innings.
I'm on hold at the pharmacy - they're seeing if anyone can take the shift or switch me to a later shift. Jesus Christ, that's $28.50/hr!!!
Go, Tiff, go!!! That's crazy $$...especially for something that sounds like it'd be a lot of fun.
SH*T! SH*T! SH*T!!! I'm supposed to pick the person I'm living w/ for the summer and a friend of hers up at the trainstation tonight (they've gone into the city to see Doubt) and it's a freaking thunder storm out! I've only driven at night once in my entire life (coming home from that Alanis concert...I got into the car and was like...Huh. Guess I've never done this before!). Definitely not thrilled about torrential downpour at night! Better leave super early and drive super slow! EEEEKKK!!
Ooh, drive safely. It'll be pretty late, too, right? Maybe the rain will stop by then.
That's what I'm hoping for! I've still got a few hours for it to at least let up a little.
They filled the spot up. The only available PA spot tomorrow now is to shoo cars away from the area from 7am until 5pm. I turned it down. My bro will be doing it instead.
I'm sorry, Tiff! That sucks. I'm sure there'll be others. I guess it's nice to know they wanted you though, right?
Oh and re: "Hee...what's funny is you said that at 4 o'clock your time, and now 3 hours later at 4 o'clock MY time, you're STILL ONLINE!"
I am so lame that I popped online w/in an hour of coming home from work, where I sat in front of a computer all day. Ugh!
Anyway, back to my game...tied up at 5. I gave up on the Braves game. They were getting their asses kicked. Sorry, Elph!
Is it still pouring out? Drive safely, eh? Are you in NYC right now or at home? Do you drive in NYC??
Anyway, I'll be back later. Gonna take a shower and get ready to go ou-uuu-t tonight. Hey, do you know any home remedy acne solutions?
I'm in NY State...I would never even think of driving in the city. I'm enough of a hazard on deserted back roads! It's still raining here, but not nearly as bad as it was before.
Unfortunately, I've got no home acne remedies. Did you try putting some ice on your face for 30 seconds/1 min. It won't make anything go away, but it should lessen the redness, etc.
Oh, and I just got an email back from someone who was selling GAs to DC on interference (figured I could trade them for something in NYC or Boston) and she wanted "an offer." That's the 3rd person that's done that recently. Very irksome on interference or U2tours, etc. If you're going to sell for more than face, go to eBay...like Tiff! I'd never try to sell my extra Stones ticket for more than face on the Rolling Stones website's message board. You gotta go to eBay or craigslist for that! Bad form, honey.
ETA: Have fun! Ironically enough, Out Tonight is on right now!
What ended up happening to the woman with 10/7 GAs?
Oh! And "The Cleaner" just called for me to work for them tomorrow! And I had to turn it down, even though I really, really, really wanted to work with Lucy Liu!
I hate people right now.
Toothpaste is good at drying out pimples.
Sorry you missed out on that job, Tiff. Hopefully you'll keep getting similar offers! Have fun tonight.
And yeah, if you want to make money off of tickets, go to eBay. Maybe she was looking to trade, though? I dunno.
The 10/7 person never got back to me w/ a price, when I asked. DC just wrote back and said she wasn't looking to make "much more than face and fees" that "she just wanted to cover her expenses." Then why write back initially and say to send your best offer, because a bunch of people replied to the initial offer?!?! So, now I look like the raving looney going off on her. I think I was kind of mean. Oops!
Sorry you got another offer, Tiff. I think you need to leave before they call and ask you to be Hugh's personal slave for tomorrow. Well, I think it's safe to say you'd be saying screw ya'll to the pharmacy if that call came in!
baaaaack.
yup.
Hey CQ! Wheredya go? (Your absence was noted!...just...not on any BWW thread! Yup!)
Worked at the pharmacy today, and chanced down a drug addict repeat shoplifter through the streets of Vancouver, who stole a few hundred dollars worth of Crest White Strips (which he apparently solicits to people in restaurants until the owners kick him out). Eventually, I gave up (Goddamn crystal meth-enhanced strength! Curses!) and realized...what was I going to do if I cornered him? Jump on him? Still really pissed off I let him get away though. Doubly pissed that this happened in broad daylight with tens of onlookers on the street, and my screams of "Someone call the police! I work at [the pharmacy]! He's a shoplifter! Someone call the police!" did absolutely nothing. Instead, people just stared, looks mildly shocked, and not a single person did anything.
Kitty Genovese, anyone?
And another thing somewhat music-related - Just finished watching Jessica Simpson's "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" video. Some thoughts:
1. Since when is having Willie Nelson lip-sync one lyric (with Jessica Simpson's voice) enough to justify a "featuring..." credit??
2. What happened to Jessica's decent belting voice? Has she been reduced to kitten baby-voiced purring now? Sad.
3. How come she insisted her short-shorts be "longer" in the movie so they covered her ass cheeks, but she's okay flaunting said cheeks in the music vid? While frolicking in soap suds, no less.
1. Her new bod is smokin'! But still.
