Looks like it's official lades!!! I was toodling around interference this morning and saw this posted in the Vertigo Tour section:

Dear u2.com subscriber

It's official!

On Monday the new North American dates for U2's Vertigo//2005 tour will be
announced. The tour will stay in North America right up to the end of 2005.

As promised in Larry's letter last month, we have worked to improve the system,
to look after former Propaganda subscribers and those U2.Com Subscribers who
have not yet been able to buy tickets for the tour. This will still be on a
first come, first served basis and though we can't guarantee that you'll get
the ticket you're looking for, this time remember you'll only be competing
against other former propaganda members for tickets on the first day.

****************

As a former Propaganda subscriber with an unused code, you will be able to use
your code to buy 2 PAIRS OF TICKETS FOR TWO SHOWS OF YOUR CHOICE (4 tickets in
total) in the pre-sale for the Fall leg.

You will find your UNIQUE PRESALE CODE in the red box on the right hand side of
the home page of the Subscribers site when you log in.

************

Dates and cities for this new leg of the tour will be officially announced on
Monday, March 7th. We will post the information in the Subscribers area of U2.
Com on Sunday night - along with the information you will need to buy tickets
in the presale.

There will be two separate presale periods open to U2.Com Subscribers, each
lasting three days. One begins this next Tuesday, March 8th, one the following
Tuesday, March 15th. The first day of each presale will only be open to former
Propaganda subscribers. (Please check in the Subscribers area for information
on which presales cover which shows).

It's no secret that the presale to the opening leg of the Vertigo Tour failed
many fans. This new system should enable as many subscribers as possible to get
tickets for the new shows. Again, you will not be competing for tickets with
anyone else but yourselves.

And don't forget no one can enter the pre sale until Tuesday, don't try to go
in earlier, you will be disappointed.

Again, we can't guarantee to give you the ticket you want, and we can't satisfy
everyone but we are doing our best to give you a fair shot.

And this time around there are more shows, we have been allocated greater
capacity for U2.Com Subscribers.

Thanks for your patience and your support.

Best wishes

The U2.Com Team.

Looks like we'll have to be breaking out those credit cards again on Saturday!!! Not really thrilled that it's so soon, but I guess I'd rather have it's just as well that it's supposed to be on the 12th (knock on wood....PLEASE BE THE 12TH!!!!) because the week after I'll be on a bus to Boston, and I don't want to trust my mom (god, love her) on our deathly slow dial-up computer at home, or on the phone (which seems to be a lot less reliable). So, the fingers are officially crossed until exactly a week from NOW!!! (well, give or take 10 minutes!)

Oh my f-ing god. WHOO!!! TWO PAIRS OF TICKETS with ONE CODE? Wow. Just...wow. It doesn't say how they're going to let people buy tickets based on the chronological time that they signed up though, right? Just that Propaganda people will go first?

Awesome. Totally awesome. I'm still choked I probably won't be in town when they are though. re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!

I'll be buying MSG tix. Can't wiat for the announcement!

I'm starting to debate what to do next week...Should I go to a ticketmaster outlet or man the computers?!?!? Hmmmm...maybe I'll go to the outlet up the street at 9:15/9:30 and if there are 200 people in line, I'll just go back to the dorms and man the computers in the lab. I keep hearing that you're better off going to an outlet, but I feel like if you aren't one of the first half dozen or so in line, you'll end up getting shut out. You'll have people that want GAs, so they'll potentially have to try for each of the four dates and by the time a dozen or so people do that, that could be 30-40 minutes and all the tix will be gone. If only I were a Prop member, and I could get my tix on Tuesday and not have to worry about all of this!!!

MAN THE COMPUTERS!!! ARE YOU CRAZY??? (I know you're not. I mean that matter of speaking.) If you're not within the first 2 people in line, you shouldn't even bother in line.

Okay, just needed to put taht out there. Will now read the rest of your post.

Okay, now I'm finished reading. (I got distracted. It doesn't actually take me 10 minutes to read. re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!)

For the exact reasons that you said, I think that you should stick with the computers, for sure.

I told you how I wound up with GA Seattle tix, right?

No, I don't think you did...was it on the phone?

Ok, ok...I'll man the computers... It worked before! Why should I take my chances?!?!? I think I'm just a glutton for punishment or something. I was more than content to do the computer lab route again, but I keep seeing messages from people saying TM outlets are the best route...Who knows. I'm sure it'll just be the luck of the draw anyway!

Mabel, you need to get yourself a Bono av!

I wound up with Seattle GA tix really funkily. (Yeah, that's a word now.) I had three windows open, and so did my friend. I had one window on .ca and two on .com. I hit refresh on the .com and suddenly it said tickets for the second show were on sale, so I put in for 2 GAs and typed in the code quickly. While it was loading, I refreshed both the other .com and .ca, and so did my friend, and the entire time, it refreshed and said tickets weren't on sale yet! And it wasn't until I was either close to finishing the processing or at the credit card page where the other 2 windows finally said tickets were on sale!

I think the best bet w/ tix seems to end up being when an extra date is added...I wonder if they'll add any more if they've already got 4 (at least that's what it looks like they're supposed to have) for MSG. I just don't know. It's going to be a mess. I obviously really want GAs, but I don't know if I should try for nosebleeds too, because I want to end up w/ something at least. GAs first time around, then nosebleeds? Try GAs for Fri/Sat, and nosebleeds for Mon/Tues (since that'd likely be really inconvenient to camp out for...though maybe everyone'll be trying for Fri/Sat first, so I should go for Mon/Tues GA...AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! I should just stop thinking about it until Saturday!)

Hmmm, I've never had an avatar. I wonder if I'm skilled enough to figure it out. Maybe I should finangle something w/ one of my shoddy (yet kind of trippy) Brooklyn Bridge pix?

Yeah, a Brooklyn Bridge pic! (BTW, I just listened to it this morning, and it's AWESOME so thank you v.v. much!) And don't forget to save it as .jpg format.

I would say try anything for Fri/Sat b/c those are the shows most people will try to get, and then GA for Mon/Tues. I wouldn't bank on there being more than 4 shows though.

I know...I doubt there'd be more than four...I was just hoping that there'd be a last minute addition that hadn't already been ravaged by U2.com members and scalpers. But alas, I doubt that'll happen.

Glad you're enjoying the Bridge concert! It was so insane! It's so crazy to listen to it and hear everyone singing along and realize that the concert was BEFORE the CD came out. Everyone knew all the lyrics already! You can even hear Bono say "how do you guys know this ****?" before "Original of the Species." Twas a good time, I must say (especially City of Blinding Lights w/ the skyline in the background!)...OH! Now I want it to be May NOW!!!

Maybe it's just the recording, but the Brooklyn crowd seemed louder and more raucous than the MSG crowd!

Yeah...I'm not sure what the deal is w/ the audio of the audience. Not sure if maybe MSG was a soundboard and Brooklyn was an audience recording. I recorded it myself, but it was TERRIBLE! All you could hear were these two guys from Boston behind us screaming along. "SOMETIMES YOU CAN'T MAKE IT ON YOOOOR OWWWWWWWN!!!!!" It was really bad! I love the "One Tree Hill" guy on the Brooklyn concert. Could he be ANY louder?!?!?

Pats myself on the back for my first avatar. Yeah for crappy pix of Bono (I was having serious trouble keeping the camera steady w/o a flash, as requested, held over my head, w/ people jumping up and down all around me...but you can get an idea of just how close I was!!!)

*squinting to make it out* I'm hoping to get a cameraphone before the concert (ideally with videocam capabilities as well) and going APESH*T there.

By the way, just read on interference - rumor is U2's going to be here until March 19, meaning I might not miss the boys at all!

Yeah, I saw that too about March 19th...I hope you're able to catch them!!!

I hope I'm able to catch them in NY for the induction. I was hoping there'd be some rumors on interference about when they'd heard they were supposed to be there/what time the ceremony was, etc, but I haven't seen much of anything.

I know...my poor picture's a little on the pathetic side!!! I'll have to dig something better up sometime!

Awwww...missed it! I was still up, but not on BWW. Did you see it? Any good? That new book by Anton Whatsisname looks really cool, but WAY out of my budget!

BTW: did you hear that Bono's name's been (kind of) seriously tossed around as a potential nominee for the next Pres. of the World Bank?!?! Doubt it'll happen, but I guess it's quite the honor to know that (as a celeb and all) he's actually being taken seriously in his aid efforts!

I'd say Friday/Saturday (7th/8th) would probably be the best work/class wise, but I'm sure if all that we can scrape up is Monday the 10th, then I'm just going to hope I can finangle something to blow off a day...I'm hoping for added dates in that BIG GAPING EMPTY WEEK that's sitting there between MSG and Philly...If they do add in there, I'd jump all over Thursday the 13th (no classes scheduled for Yom Kippur).

Ooh, they got some sense and scheduled 3 MSG shows! Good luck with tickets, girls! I get back to the U.S. in late November, so I'm thinking of heading up to Hartford for the Dec. 7th show. That's the one closest to me when I'll actually be here. The question is, when trying to get tickets, do we go for best available or GA or what? I didn't have so much luck last time.

#322re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!

There's been some speculation as to whether or not GA is at the top of the list when you select Best Available. I'm not sure. I know for me, I'll be picking "GA" specifically, because all I can afford is $50 seats (well, I suppose I could pick Best Available at the $50 price range and assume they'd consider GA better than nosebleeds in the rafters). Best of luck Elphie! I was tempted to try for Hartford too, but it'll be right around finals time and I don't think I'm going to be up for the trek then. Who knows, if the tix for that go on sale next week and I get shut out of MSG this weekend (at least I think it's this weekend...it's still not listed on TM yet), I may be trying for Hartford after all! Though I really want GAs and I don't think I'd be up to camping out in Hartford in December!!!

ETA: It's starting to look like the MSG tix might be on sale next weekend, which will ROYALLY SUCK! If that's the case, I guess I'll be heading to Boston a day later, because there's no way I'm going to take my chances on my slow ass computer at home/relying on getting tix over the phone. Come on people. I just want to get this whole ticket fiasco done and over w/ this weekend, so by next weekend, I'll be home, eating a big ass steak, and vegging on the couch w/ my dog! (And yes, I realize this is an incredibly embarrassing and pathetic way to spend spring break, but when you're financially challenged and only have a week, this is what it comes down to!) I don't think I'm asking too much! Work w/ me folks @ U2 management/ticketbastard!

You just described exactly what I'm doing right now (except replace steak with homemade lasagna). So we're both spring break losers. re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates! I have to save money, what with paying for U2 tickets and going abroad soon.

They still might go on sale this weekend, mabel. They seem to always announce it at the last minute. I guess I'll try for GA. I'm not sure I'll want to go if I don't get GA, because I can't afford more and I'm not sure it would be worth it to drive all the way up there (its far) for nosebleed seats.

Oh good...I'm so glad I'm not the only spring break looser!

I guess I can keep hoping MSG gets tossed in the mix before tomorrow morning, but I have my doubts. Oh well, whatever it is, it is...I've got a friend coming to visit next Thurs/Friday from PA, so there's no way I'd be heading home as early as I'd initially hoped to anyway...what's one more day?

It's a tough call w/ GAs in CT for December! Could be kind of brisk! I think the Hartford Civic Center's kind of a smaller venue too, so maybe the seated cheap seats wouldn't be so terrible if it came to that? I've only been there once (a couple years ago to see Paul McCartney, and we were high, but close to the stage...totally worth the $50! I wish they broke down exactly what sections were listed at what price, so you could know ahead of time if it's even worth while checking for seated cheapies...if there are high, but close sections or if they're all behind the stage/WAY in the back, etc)
