Tiff, I sent you a PM...The room isn't so bad. We've got a small bedroom w/ bunked beds, a little kitchen, and a living room w/ a couch, so that's where you'll be...no spooning necessary! Shucks. Actually, I think it's probably more spacious (or at least better designed, layout-wise than most of my past rooms). Really, the only complaint is my serious lack of clothing storage space (and having a mini-fridge...I was spoiled last spring having a full sized fridge w/ a freezer, which is always nice where there's a sale on chicken or something...stalking up).
Anyway, YAY for booking the flights! We shall talk and sort things out.
Hooray for booking the flights! I am glad it's all going to work out for you. Much respect for donating a large amount as well.
Mabel, when did you want to send me that care package of footwear to work on?
I'm going to try burning some CDs tonight/tomorrow after class (I get out at 11). We'll see how far I get. If nothing else, I'll send what I can manage (along w/ the DVDs) and go from there...pick up any extra slack when you're here in November. I'm supposed to be getting some DVDs from a B+P (The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Counting Crows, Jack Johnson, Wilco, Pear Jam) but I guess we'll wait and see on that. Actually, I think most of those were from broadcasts that aired in the UK or something, so I'd imagine they'll be pretty good quality.
Tiff, I really admire your generosity on donating so much. I have a couple of bags of old clothes that are up in my room at home. I think I'll see if there's any way my mom can drop them off to be donated. I'll have to look into that.
Oh, and Tiff, I haven't checked out HBO yet. Definitely on my to-do list...which is getting kind of lengthy! The Theater Talk interview is next Friday (eek!)
Tiff, previews for tWiW actually begin Oct. 28th and it opens Nov. 17th, so I guess you'll miss it on this trip. But you'll have to come back to see it!
I'm so glad you finalized your trip and got a flight!
That's great that you have a normal roommate, mabs! And your living space doesn't sound so bad. Good luck at your interview!
The room really isn't that bad, now that we're both moved in. It definitely looked much smaller when it was filled w/ bags and boxes full of our stuff (including a bunch of her boyfriend's stuff...not really sure why so much of his stuff was in here too...I best not be getting a third roommate!) Anyway, yeah, now that everything's put away (more or less) it's actually looking halfway-decent. I'm especially loving the 3 jumbo windows. I certainly don't have a great room, but after 3 rooms in a row w/ windows that opened directly to a brick wall, allowing ZERO daylight in, I'm tickled pink w/ being able to look out the window and at least see if it's raining out)

I'm not resident on campus - sometimes I think I'm missing out!
It's a big part of college life. I'd be the bestest ever room-mate too!
And uh-oh, Manhattan better raise the terror alert level...Tiff's a comin'!
How many of you have this hanging on your walls?
(Yes, I intentionally found the most scary picture of Celine that I could.)

<--- new avatar, as requested by Tiff.

P.S. I have that hanging on my wall, Patronus! Why?
Just got off the phone with Mabs mere moments ago! Jealous, Ellie? Quite a pleasant and lengthy conversation, once I got over my initial shock at the sonorous rumbling voice, static from his--er, her beard brushing against the receiver, and the little girl in the background saying, "Daddy, please get off the phone!"
And can we just clarify that I didn't request the Celine avatar, I merely told her I wouldn't complain or turn to stone?
And can we also clarify that I did not begin the phone conversation with, "Yo, I knew it was released in '91, bitch!"?
Yeah, that brat's such a pain in the ass!

Meer?
It's mere, eejit.
That little girl was me. You'll be joining me soon. The chains are actually quite comfortable once you get used to them.
I wrote 'mere', Miss Reading Incomp.
So now, Mab and I deduced that I've spoken to her on the phone, and she's met #1Elphie. And I've met Sivon, and she's met Nikki. So all of us in one way or another have met each other, except for you! What gives? We're decided you must be a 50-year-old obeso with a Fidel Castro beard, sitting by the computer, cruising unassuming ladies on Broadway message boards.
Or else that would be Mabel, and you'd be the daughter of Fidel Obeso.

That's me to a T. What gave it away?
And I have your cell phone number, remember?
*strokes penis*
A cell number you've yet to use!
(And speaking of stroking penises, Mabel and I discussed your package, too.)
(Oh, I mean your care package, but wasn't that a witty sedge way?)
Ooh Mabel, I looked up 10/15 and I can get the same 7am flight for the same fare!
(Now to figure out accomodations.)

Maybe I'll call you tonight...collect!
And do you guys think Lennon will still be open, and if it is, are y'all still interested in seeing it?
I think it still has a shot, since it seems to be that a closing show usually gives at least a month month notice, right? If it is still open, I'm still interested in seeing it (and likely we can get TKTS seats!)...I guess on Saturday matinee? (Because it's not open on our birthday )
Broadway Legend Joined: 9/20/04
Sometimes shows close with only a moments notice, though, right?
There's no Sunday matinee!?! But, but...that's his birthday! How great would that be?
Gah, I don't know if I can make the Saturday!
*ahem* It's not just his birthday. And yeah, I'm bummed about that. It was sort of a big selling point for me that I could see it on our birthday.
What about Monday?
Broadway Legend Joined: 9/20/04
Yeah, maybe the Monday. I don't know, though!
'Our birthday.' Pish.
When are you and your little WASP-y friends leaving the great, big city?
(That way I can lower the terror alert to orange.)
Yeah, let's totally go on Monday and sell our U2 218 tix!
I think the rush is super easy to get at Lennon (assuming it's still open). That'd save us $30 or so vs. the TKTS price.
Oh, and Tiff, your package comment = pure genius!
Broadway Legend Joined: 9/20/04
Her package comment may have been pure genius, I suppose.
I was going to let this snark go unsnarked, but seeing as you brought it up, Mabs...
What is a sedge way, Tiff? I think you mean segue.
Honestly, Mabel - should we expect our IQs to fall after meeting Tiff?
