Ellie, the more YOU worry about your looks, the more I worry about MINE!
(Sad vicious cycle.)
I still think of her as Mabel. Even when I was writing out possible accomodation plans, it was with 'Sivon' and 'Mabel' in mind.
It's okay, you won't get too many Lost spoilers from me. I'm still trying to avoid it until I've caught up on the DVDs...I was hoping to catch the 8-9pm special which recaps the first season instead, but I'd rather watch the full episodes.
Eh, I'll definitely still respond to Mabel, as it's kind of my family nickname, so no worries if you slip up, Ellie!
What's the deal w/ Lost tonight. I just turned it on. Is it a new episode or just a Season One recap??
Season 1 recap from 8-9, new season 2 ep from 9-10.
*creams*
Oh! But Martha Stewart's Apprentice is on at 8pm too! Oh, bother...

But I thought you didn't even watch Lost, Tiff? Remember when Allie & Nik were going crazy over it last season...not much of a reaction from you then! Nor me, for that matter! But one episode is all it takes I suppose. Hurrah!
And no more worrying about looks, okay?! Agreed?
*feels self-conscious*

And no more worrying about looks, okay?! Agreed? AGREED!
I never really got that into Lost, but my roommate last spring watched it RELIGIOUSLY, and I guess I got subliminally hooked by association...or something like that.

I think I got hooked when X y'know, Xed.
How much do you know, Tiff?
I was totally against Lost (and 'Pudgy McHobbit') when Allie and Nik were going on and on about it, but I caught the season finale because my parents watch it religiously, and I thought the finale was amazing, and vowed to get caught up. (Was that a Nicole-esque run-on sentence?)
Okay! No more worrying about looks! Heh. Heh.
*grabs a fist-full of chocolate almonds...and puts them back into the bag*
This sucks.

I've still to see the finale!
And I still don't like Pudgy McHobbit (Wait... K***e guy is in Lost??). I hate the way he blends all his words so nasally.
And unfortunately, I fear I will be far from my best when we meet, so you can afford to eat a couple of chocolate almonds! It'll make me feel better about myself...do it for me.
You want me to get uglier so you can feel better about yourself??
Weirdo.

The worse you look, the better I'll look standing beside you!
Go on, treat yourself to a Dominos pizza!
I just want mashed potatoes.
Hey, what are our dinner plans for Saturday? Can you just casually mention to your friends that you have New Yorker buds you forgot to mention?

Well nobody in my little group is quite the planner that you are, Tiff - so no, no dinner plans as of yet!
I hear Burger King is nice, though.
...Mabel, anything? I would KILL for a pizza.
(Do we get to meet your friends, or will you be all, "I don't know why that crazy Chinese chub is waving at me!"?)

I suppose you could meet them at the concert at least. But I thought they were "Scary Yaleys"?
Oh, they are. And I'm just a "Scary Yellow", so we'll get on fine!
(BTW, if you want to create a cooler background story, I'm totally game for that.)

Um, yes please. "Strangers off the internet" just sounds all wrong...
Can we create pseudonyms while we're at it? You can be Fishy Galore, Mabs can Professor Jane Jensson, and I can be Anastacia Beaverhausen Junior. Oh wait, they know my name already. Damn.
Gotta run now - no doubt you'll be here later/tomorrow...see ya!
How about I'm your parole officer, Dr. Philange?
Back story...back story...uhh...my parents are friends of your relatives from BC (you actually have relatives in BC, right?), and I just happened to plan a trip to New York to see U2 as well? (At least that part is the truth!) Say you haven't met me before because I've been away at school, but your parents are making you feel obligated to meet up with me. Oh, and Nic is my friend from New York who you'll just happen to meet?
And n-n-no, I won't be here tomorrow! I have a life.
(I'll see you tomorrow. Same time?)
Just got through to Balthazar, and their only openings for 10/9 brunch are 10am and 2pm. Should we go for one of those, or should I try for Pastis instead?
Do we want to catch a matinee?
Okay, I had to make an executive decision, and made a reservation for Balthazar at 2pm on 10/9. Means we probably won't get to see a matinee that day, but we can probably squeeze some shopping in between brunch and BWW Happy Hour!
Now to figure out a restaurant...
oooh Balthazar's... we always go there for breakfast
Mmm! Is the food as tasty as it's hyped up to be? (And you, young sir, are quite the lucky one! Balthazar for breaky, Savoy in London, evacuation to New York...life is gooood, no?)
I don't know if you'll "be meeting any of my real life 'friends.'" Most of my school friends ended up dorming in Brooklyn this year, so I haven't really been seeing them as much lately. Besides, I'm anticipating being pissed off at them for ignoring my b'day next week...and having to be reminded by me before taking me out for a drink or two counts as ignoring my birthday.
When was telling people that I had a friend visiting from Vancouver for a week, they're all like "How the hell do you know someone from Vancouver?" I just said I met you through another friend. *shrug*
It's okay, I won't be discussing any of my real life 'friends' because I'm anticipating them giving me the shaft for my joint early birthday 'party' with another girl next Friday (where, like last year, they'll lavish expensive presents on her, and toss me a small bottle of Bailey's as a pity present, and make me pay for my own dinner). So if you hear about them, it'll only be in the negative.
When I'm telling people I'm staying with friends in New York for a week, they're also all, "Since when did you know people in New York and how come you didn't visit them last year?" and I just reply that I met Sivon at school and she re-located to SF (to justify my meeting her in March) and now to NYC to do her Masters at NYU, and I met you through the film industry, and now you're a glam writer's assistant for AMC who 'owns a place' in the Financial District.
Wow, what a vivid imagination you have!
My friends are dropping the ball lately, but frankly, that's fine for the time being, because I'm really too tired to be out cavorting. I'm surprised I have the energy to be chatting it up here...Really though, let's be honest...I'm just procrastinating doing homework right now! I need to hop on that after Lost. Pfft.
To be fair, I didn't really say you OWNED a place, so much as you 'had' a place in the Financial District. Who owns their flat nowadays anyway? Renting is so stylish!
How's Lost? NO SPOILERS! I refuse to watch until the 8pm catch-up show.
