Ben Shenkman was fab in Sight Unseen! And I saw Anne Heche in Twentieth Century...also fab.
Okay, 'night again!

Oops, I accidentally missed your post in its entirety, honest! (Do you think I would have read about Brooke asking if she could touch your 'spot' without comment???)
Seriously, try to get out of the afternoon with your friends! Tell them seeing a show is important to you, and that you've got a friend in the city who's willing to treat you. (That part, natch, is a lie.)

Night Ellie! Ben was indeed fab in Sight Unseen. I also saw him do a reading of a Tony Kushner scene (got TK to sign my copy of Millenium Approaches...BEYOND AMAZING!) at PU and I got to sit in on the rehearsal. Very, very interesting indeed.
Try to work something out for Saturday afternoon, Ellie. You must see something. Alas, I can't join you, because I've got a class/workshop on Saturday afternoon.

What was TK like?
Ellie, you gotta come! It'll be you, me, maybe Sivon and Nikki...maybe Beka, depending if she comes on Sat or Sun.

Posted: 9/23/05 at 10:37pmHe was very cool. They had this event..."Tiny Kushner," I think they called it, doing one acts/monologues, etc. A handful of people sat in on the rehearsal w/ Ben, Linda Emond (from Arturo Ui) Ana Reeder (also in Sight Unseen) and some other guy. They went through it 3 times, and it was fascinating to see how it evolved just in those three run-throughs. Then, after the rehearsal, TK did a little talk back w/ the students, and after he was done, I asked him to sign MA, and he was very nice. We didn't really chat. I just said I was looking forward to AiA (I don't think it had aired yet...maybe it had, but I didn't have HBO at my New School dorms) and Caroline. There wasn't really a whole lot to it, but he was very nice. The actual shindig was pretty cool. There was also a monologue by Jeffrey Wright and Marcia Gay Harden did the Laura Bush monologue scene thing. I can't think of the name...it's very long.

Posted: 9/23/05 at 10:46pmDidn't Marcia Gay do a run of AiA once? I remember reading her name when I read the play a few months back.

Posted: 9/23/05 at 10:47pmI like Marcia. Why is she perpetually pregnant, though?

Because she's perpetually getting laid, unlike some people around here?

Posted: 9/23/05 at 10:53pmYeah, MGH was the original Harper on Broadway.

Posted: 9/23/05 at 10:56pmSomehow I can picture MLP as a better Harper than MGH, but maybe that's because I'm biased, and MLP can do no wrong. (Aside from that whole getting-knocked-up-by-that-duplicitous-eye-wandering-bastard-Cruddyup-and-letting-him-leave-her thing.)

She was incredibly dignified through the whole thing. And it sounds like she's moved on and is perfectly happy dating her Weeds co-star. Good for her!
I did catch her on a couple episodes of The West Wing. She really can do no wrong.

Posted: 9/23/05 at 10:59pmShe's the ONLY reason I sat through West Wing. Never had any interest in the show other than when she was on. But her in 'Proof'...magic. I saw her at Gramercy Tavern last year, and I was speechless. (Well, believe it or not, I actually couldn't place her at first when she walked through the door, and we made eye contact and she smiled at me politely, and then it hit me.)

Posted: 9/23/05 at 11:02pmShe's really stunning in real life. When I saw her kicking around outside PU after Ui, I was shocked at how gorgeous she is. I don't know if she's had any work done, but if she has, it's very natural looking...if not, she just keeps getting better looking with age. She doesn't really look 40-something.

She's not 40 something! She's only 40, isn't she?
Gah. I wish I'd seen Reckless.

No, she looks like she's in her early-thirties, eh? She's so naturally pretty. Def my fave stage actress.
Which Weeds co-star is she dating? Not Justin, right?
