I wasn't going to bother. I guess I'll leave it up to the weather. If it's raining, I'm not going to bring my LP. If it's just cold and doesn't look like it'll rain, maybe I'll bring it, just in case. I read somewhere that they aren't doing soundchecks very much on this leg, so they've been showing up really late and just scooting in. I don't know how accurate that is, but that's what I've read (and there don't seem to be many postings on that Experiences sub-forum on interference that I remember being filled w/ pix and stuff on the first leg.
I am so bored beyond tears it's not even funny.
Did you end up picking up the DVD?

Why are you bored?
Go for a jog, a swim, a breath of fresh air. There's a whole world away from your computer, y'know. Shoo.
I hear you on the bored front, Tiff. My little windows of time between classes have been utterly non-productive lately. I just want to veg and loaf in the worst way. And exactly one week from now, I shall be doing just that. Mmmmm...Thanksgiving! I'm so psyched for the food!
Didn't pick up the DVD yet, btw. Maybe tomorrow, since I don't have class.

Random fact of the day:
Tiff makes tea with used tampons instead of tea-bags.
By the way, a belated greeting to anjilly! I'm Ellie - the epitome of class and understated wit. Mabel, back me up.

I'm sure "Ellie, the epitome of class" would have been blazingly obvious to ajilly from the zinger you just posted. For sure, you are the pillar of decorum around here.

Why, thank you, Mabs. Truer words have never been spoken.
Anyway, must dash - off for a full crotch wax. Billie Joe just hates getting hair in his teeth. Toodles!
Surely he needs his teeth flossed once in a while.
Did anyone see the Wake Me Up etc. video? Billy Elliot?? WTF?
Not only did I see the WMUWSE video, but I also caught some making the video-type thing for it. WTF, indeed! What a horrible, horrible video! The fact that they thought it was so poignant made it that much worse. *shudder* Tacky, tacky, TACKY!

Well. I. Never.
How dare you suggest that my beloved BJ could be anything but the very personification of style and punk cool?
Tacky? Never! Personally, I think it's a great song, and a great video. And Billy Elliot, or Jamie Bell as he's known to his mother, is really rather cute in a uniform.
*raspberry*
I enjoy the song, but the video (w/ all their sappy banter in the middle of it) is definitely not their best effort! Sorry, El.
Totally, totally, totally, Nic. Sappy, patronizing, badly acted, over-the-top...there was more cheese than my stomach could ever ooze, and more corn than in Ellie's stool. It tried too hard to make a statement, but the only statemend made was, "We take this song far more seriously than our viewers/listeners do." It was just so badly executed! The concept wasn't terrible, but there are ways to be more understated than to have Jamie Bell actually in the middle of a war-torn area or have him exchange gushy words to his sad lovah. Sooooo...ick. I can't wait until Ed The Sock rips this apart on New Year's Eve.
Do you guys get Ed The Sock in the US? He's the equivalent of Triumph the Insult Dog, but with a smoker's voice and a nastier attitude, and every year he compiles "Fromage [Year]" of the worst music videos, and tears them to bits. Tres funny.
No, as far as I know, we don't have Ed the Sock here. Sounds tres amusant though!...That video! Ugh! I was watching the making of thing (it was on some random station that I got over the summer, not the MTV Making the Video) and I actually couldn't watch the whole thing. They were so proud of themselves. Ick!
Oh, I was just reading this article on Edge on interference (rather interesting, though you have to read the scans that someone posted, which is a bit of a pain) I'll post the link below. Anyway, one little tidbit that I enjoyed (adding further fuel to my Adam's a flamer fire). Did you know that Larry and Adam had nicknames a la Edge and Bono as well?? Well, Larry was "Jam Jar" (WTF?!?) and Adam was...Wait for it..."Mrs. Burns"!! Oh, and Bono's full name was "Bono Vox of O'Connell Street." Obviously I knew the Bono Vox bit, but I'd never heard the "of O'Connell Street." Anyway, twas an enjoyable read. Oh, and I forgot, another Adam gem (describing the boys arriving at Logan after their Boston shows in October) "Adam Clayton sweeps past in shiny, green, ankle-length gown." Ummm...I want to see this alleged "Suzie." I'm thinking it's more like Steve. C'mon Adam, let's be honest!
Edge article/interview.
Is Adam "Mrs. Burns" to Bono's "Mr."???
*following the link now*
Ugh, I'm sick as a dog - got a heavily coated phlegm cough.
I'm sure in Adam's mind, Bono is indeed Mr. Burns!...A shimmering, green, ankle-length gown?!? Adam, you sexy beast!
Also, have you seen any recent pix of Adam Pascal's wife? Good lord, she's a fright! She is one of the scariest individuals I think I've ever seen. She always looks like she's going to tear someone's face off. I would not want to have a run in with her. She scares the crap out of me. I'm sure she's probably a very nice woman. I'm just saying, I've never seen her look even remotely cheery or personable.

They're announcing the winner of that "See U2 in Montreal" contest tomorrow in my local newspaper... eeeeeee, everybody keep your fingers crossed for me!
TAKE ME WITH YOU ALLIEEEEEE!!!!
You just reminded me that I need to see if I won 6/49 yesterday.
I totally agree, Nic. I've seen pics of Cybele and she just looks like a mighty vicious woman. Something about her severe features - she scares me.
Sorry guys, I didn't win 6/49. Jackpot's up to $9m. If I win, lunch and U2 show in me, 'k?
Back off, woman! I'm closer to Montreal!!! Wake Up live...AAAAHHHHHH!!! Oh well, at least I heard it live w/ Bowie. I suppose I'm fine w/ settling with that...Good luck, Allie! That would certainly be one hell of a concert!!!
And yeah, Cybele is one vicious femme. I think vicious is spot on (but it's totally in an "I'll F*CK you up" way, not an "I'm a strong-willed individual" way).
Right now, Stephen and *A* are watching the midnight showing of Harry Potter.
...in 10 hours, I'll be doing the same. I freakin' turned down The Invisible today and gave it to a friend instead, so I wouldn't miss HP. Is that pathetic?
Tiffany, Tiffany, Tiffany! Passing up on work to go see Harry Potter. Geez!...And you didn't go to a midnight showing? What gives?! You slacker, you.
I just got back from this 1/2 hour session w/ some computery guy who was supposed to help me with this stupid website for my horrible WS class, and he just did a bunch of stuff that I couldn't follow, handed me back my disc, and that was that. I have no idea what he did (though it involved making some links to various pages of the site I'll eventually be making). I have no idea. Ugh! I should have dropped that damn class. I really, really dislike it.
Oh, Pat and anjilly...just figured I'd give you a heads up that the weather forecast has changed (shock!)...right now, poor Claire is looking like she may get the rain. But worse...Wednesday's now got snow in the forecast!!!
Who knows what they'll be predicting tomorrow!
Snow is EXACTLY what we need.
Actually, anjilly has never really been in snow before, so it might be a bit fun for her if it doesn't get too messy.
I can't believe the amount of stuff that I still need to get done. It's really insane. Luckily my vacation from work started today, so that helps.
HP:GOB was pretty good. I didn't love it quite as universally as others did and all in all I like Azkaban better than GOB, but it was still fun. Of course that can be expected because Askaban is easily my favorite book in the series. Hence, my username of course.
I have some very specific complaints, but they are more or less minor and I'll save them until after you guys have seen the film and I am not as cranky from having very little sleep and very much to do as I don't want to spoil anything or plant thoughts in your head before you see it, but I did enjoy it very much.
Okay...task #1 for the day: Dishes.
I'll be popping in from time to time. Feel free to keep me company on AIM.
I hope you guys have warm enough clothes for the NYC visit! I just figured I'd toss out that there might be snow in store, just in case you'd see fit to pack accordingly. Hopefully it won't be anything too drastic. The bus ride should be interesting. Holiday traffic and show. Faaaabulous!
Good luck getting all your stuff together, Pat. I'm always a last minute packer, so I always feel like I'm forgetting something when it's getting down to the wire.
Is Rockefeller open for skating yet? Oh, Stephen, you and *A* skating there is a MUST! Just...do you own any substantial jackets in LA?? (Make sure you pack enough, but more importantly, make sure you don't overpack. Trust me. )
We'll discuss HP later on today! I'm almost out the door to take Winnie out for breakfast, then seeing the noon showing. I would've LOVED to go at midnight (I have for all the other HPs and LOTRs) but for some reason, they didn't offer it this year! What gives?? It's easily the most anticipated of the four! (I also have the same reservations as you, Stephen. HP3 is by far my favorite one - book and movie - but I was disappointed by how little Gary Oldman was used and it seems like he's used even less in this one. )
Alright, getting ready! Ciao!
I think it would be pretty neat if it snowed when you came, the first time I came it snowed slightly one afternoon, and it really sealed the trip for me. (Of course I had been living in the North Carolina mountains, where it snows all the time.)
Pat- If you get the chance can you pm me your movie thoughts. I really want to know where your objections come in, I can think of some places. If a movie actually gets me in the door I usually give a rave, if it's not terrible, I just see so few now.
PofA used to be my favorite book, but now I'm torn on all of the last four, I can't keep my mind made up for longer than a day. (that I happen to think about it)
