Have they decided that MSG is where they'll film the DVD? And will it be just the one date, or will it be a mish-mash of all of them?
I haven't heard anything definite about the DVD being from NY, but it'd make sense, wouldn't it?...especially if they do highlights from all the shows in the city (having so many to pick from)
Can you imagine if they recorded all, like, eight shows and put the highlights from each show on the DVD?
I think NYC seems likely seeing as they have so much time to work on perfecting the sound and video quality.
#1, that ain't too bad! Mabs and I are in 400 and 200 too, just in the rear-corner of the stage.
BAD!!!!??????????????????????????????
My god. I think I would shatter my own larynx at the opening chords if I saw them do it live.
Bad and Streets are my two favorite U2 songs and probably in my top 5 EVER songs. OH. MY. GOD. Fingers crossed that one of us will get to hear them to this!!!!!!! AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
I like our deal...nice to be getting closer w/ each show (well, not so much for you Tiff, since you're going from GA to 400 behind the stage!)
Is there a boot of the "Bad" concert? (Which city was it in?) I seriously think my throat would start to bleed from my screaming.
I'm so excited and anxious about this GA situation. I'm glad that the ellipse people are chosen randomly so I don't have to get there ridiculously early. But I'm also worried that since I probably won't get here until noon or a bit later, it also means I'm not going to be by the rail. Sucks being 5'2. No way am I wearing heels there, so I suppose I'll be seeing Bono's head.
I haven't seen a boot yet, I've been looking. It was 4/16 (Phoenix2), so I don't expect one this soon.
ETA: Tiff, while you're in line you should make friends with a tall, strong, hot guy who will let you sit on his shoulders.

I think 400 and 200 rear-corner will be great...our friends who sat behind felt really "catered to" by the boys and I'm sure they won't disappoint!
I haven't been on much--Tiff, I'm afraid I don't know anyone looking for Vegas singles sorry!
Mabel, saw on the other thread that you saw Democracy....glad you got to see it! I got comped by a friend opening night and had the same reaction as you re: Act I and II. Really intruiging story, but easy to drift towards the beginning.
My "footware" is still en route, but I will report back!!!
Oh, and Tiff, I just adore your new avatar. If that numnut hadn't been fired this week I think I would have hurt myself!
:)
BAD!!! Still can't get over that.... Ellie, I wonder if they might play Hold Me.... at least *once* on the tour? I feel like they'd eventually get to a mid-90s tune. Everlasting Love I kind of doubt, but it'd be great!
#1Elphie, I'm always on the prowl for a tall, strong hot guy for me to wrap my legs around his head! So that won't be a problem.
I had this recurring dream of being chosen to dance with him during Mysterious Ways. I think something's wrong with me. (But Ellie, isn't THIS recurring dream better than the ones of "Steve" from SatC? *shudder* Dark period in my singlehood, okay?)
I really hope I'm not one of those idiotic teeny-bopper fangirls who starts to cry if I'm right up there when he starts an amazing song. (i.e. One, any of the '80s-'90s, Mysterious Ways, Stuck In a Moment, etc.) How embarrassing would that be? *scared* I KNOW I would freak out and scream like a mofo if they do Bad in Seattle.
Groupie, I couldn't believe how much more I enjoyed Act II of Democracy. I was literally nodding here and there during Act I. I've only fallen asleep at the theatre once (The Sunshine Boys w/ Kluggman and Randall...I was O-U-T, out!) I didn't fall asleep during Democracy, but there was one point where it was a bit of a struggle. I amused myself watching the reactions of Tyne and Tim Dalyl who were sitting in front of me). I knew I shouldn't have bothered w/ a serious show on 5 hours sleep+ a whole morning of running around, but it was now or never! I am glad I saw it though.
Keep your eyes peeled on the Vertigo trading board on interference for that Arizona show. That Neutral person has done a couple of "freebies for the first 5 people" deals, so I'll be looking out for that.
Oh, and on The Apprentice: I'm so pissed I missed last week's episode! I saw Chris on the Today Show talking about his weeping fest. Pathetic. He wasn't even really crying (I was expecting much worse). I found it more sad that he seemed to refuse to leave the boardroom!
What did Chris say about his weeping fest? So awesome. It would've been better if there was a thin strand of snot trailing from his nose to his hand, just to top the pathetic image. The best freakout last week was Tyra Banks on ANTM! What the hell?!?
I don't know. He chatted a bit about how he wasn't ashamed of his show of emotion, because he had become very attached to the people he was living and working with (yeah right!) Then he talked a little about his arrest. He said there was some misunderstanding about getting in to a club for free (trying to pass it off as thinking it was included w/ the hotel room, but really, I think it was because he thought he should get in for free, because he's a quasi-celeb)....oh, then they talked about his "anger management problem."
Groupie, did you get the boot of your show from that link I'd poted on eBay? I was just wondering, because I got the following e-mail from eBay about it:
The following listing:
4717971217 - U2 Anaheim April 1FREE 2 CD SET do NOT PAY 4 others
has been removed from eBay for violating eBay policy. Since this listing was
removed, you are not required to complete the transaction.
As if two U2 concerts and the final Red Sox/Yankees series weren't enough for my two week 21st celebration, it has been announced that Paul McCartney will play MSG on October 4th and 5th! HOOORAY!!!!!!!! Tix go on sale Saturday!!! Boooooo!!!!
That's exciting!
You might as well go all out, you only turn 21 once!
I just checked ticketmaster, and they only have 4 or 5 dates up. Hopefully the MSG dates won't go on sale for another couple of weeks. I'm totally going though. It's a pisser that he wasn't playing NYC over that previous weekend (Sept 30/Oct 1-2) so my mom could join me. It's just tragic that she never got a chance to see The Beatles in concert, and she simply must see Paul this time around. I really don't know why she passed on joining me a few years ago when I saw him in Hartford. Shame, shame, shame.
Hopefully it'll be easier to get tickets for than U2, mabel!
I have an mp3 of Bad from the Arizona concert and I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes listening to it. Yes, I know I'm a dork, but it's just such a beautiful song. The "Whoo Whoo"s got to me first. And then the "I'm Wide Awake"s.
PM me if you want me to email/IM it to any of you.
Oh, I can't wait until a full recording of this show surfaces! It sounded like such a great show!!! I need to stop looking at set lists as Boston's nearing. If Bad had showed up totally unexpectedly, I'm pretty sure I'd cry...not to mention now that it's been played, I'm REALLY hoping for it, and it's probably not going to happen. I guess I should just prepare myself for the Electric Co., An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart, Zoo Station show, and be pleasently surprised if Bad, All I Want is You, Desire, etc, happen to show up.
#1elphie, you're such a dork, but I think I'd be in tears if I listened to it too. I'm already getting flipflops in my stomach THINKING About it! Seriously, once I hear the opening chords in Seattle, I will start to cry. And then I'll start to scream.
And speaking of crying and screaming, OMFG Mabel, PAUL McCARTHY 10/4 and 10/5?? Holy SH*T!
<--- legit Beatles fan, thank you very much. (Not feeling defensive towards you, Mabs. Just certain individuals - Ellie - who doubt my worship.)
I am seriously contemplating going to NYC from 10/4 - 10/11 so I can see that too. Is that bad?
Just listened to Bad (thanks Elph!). You're not the only crazy. While I didn't cry, I did make a point to shut the lights off and listened to it w/ headphones! God, I love this song!!! I LOVE the cracks in Bono's voice in one of the later "Whoo Whoo's" and an occasional "I'm Wide Awake." I can't believe (in my list of Bad: How do I Love thee? Let me count the ways) I forgot the "Fade away's"
Tiff, I'll probably go for a pair of the cheapest tix for McCartney. I'm doubting that my mom will come down on a Tuesday/Wednesday to see it, but I'm thinking I'll have an extra ticket, so let me know if you do decide to go totally crazy and come down early for it. There'll be plenty of time to decide!
Fabulous! Thank you! This one is much less certain for me than the U2s are, and it'll probably be one of those ones where I won't know for sure until I book my flight in June/July, so don't go out of your way for me. Do you know what the price ranges are for this one? It still isn't listed on TM. Is it okay if I hold off from giving you the dough until the summer? By then, I'll know if NYC is happening and what dates I can take off, and if I can't make it on the 5th, then you can eBay it. (Will you try for the 4th or 5th? I don't think I'll be able to take another day off from class.)
I didn't ACTUALLY cry, I was just emotional.
And YES, the cracks in his voice just kill me! That's what really does it for me. Those little imperfections make it perfect.
Okay, I'm going back to paper-writing. I'm writing about The Ground Beneath Her Feet so I was playing the song to inspire me, but it didn't work so well. So I need to just focus and write. Good night everyone!
At least you've got a fun paper!
I'm doing a quantitative analysis on the correlation between fear of crime and zzzzz...you're totally not interested by now, right? *yawn* 'Twas due today but I slacked off (yeah, Type A indeed...) so now I'm paying the repercussions.
