Good night, and good luck, Elphie!

Tiff, I'd definitely be shooting for the 5th, because I have class on Tuesday nights next fall. I'm not sure what the ticket prices will be for MSG. I was looking at the few dates that were already listed on ticketmaster...a couple have $50 tickets, one city had $75 as the lowest, and Las Vegas was $125!!! I'm hoping MSG has $50 seats! I'll keep you posted if I happen to snag a pair, and it's not a big deal if you have to wait until later on to decide. I could probably go w/ the friend who I went to see him w/ in Hartford (though she's currently on a bit of a budget as well) or I could always sell the extra if it came to that.

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

Oh my GOD, Mabel! I just checked Vegas - replace your "2" with a "7"!! Yes, $175 for the cheapest seat!! re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates! There are tickets that are MORE EXPENSIVE than U2?!?!?! Good GOD!

I think my budget for McCartney will be, like, US$60 after fees. U2 is a bigger deal to me (not that that makes me a lesser fan than you, Ellie, for I don't think you're even considering going, are you?? *smirk*), but it seems like it would be a total waste to be in NYC 2 days after a Beatle played in the same venue! (Do you think he'll be seeing Lennon?? Weren't things tense with him and Yoko regarding the whole, "Lennon & McCartney" vs. "McCartney & Lennon" kerfuffle? So maybe not.)

I'm still in shock over $175 for the cheapest MGM seat! Extortion!

Ooooh, was it 175?!?!? I saw 1--and kind of stopped there! Yeah, I'm definitely going for $50. That's what I got in Hartford and actually had really great seats. High, but really close to the stage.

I wonder if he'll pop in at Lennon??? I know the whole billing issue got pretty sketchy. Really though, what's wrong w/ Lennon/McCartney (let's just go w/ alphabetical order, and keep it at that!)

Figured I'd post this now before I forget it later...

USA TODAY...
--U2 won't have to get up early to kick off the summer music segments for Good Morning America (live, 7 a.m. ET). The ABC morning show will join the Irish supergroup on its Vertigo tour, then broadcast five songs May 20. Other acts, which will perform live, include Rascal Flatts (May 27); Shakira (June 3); Santana (June 10); Ringo Starr (June 17); Jesse McCartney (June 24); Fantasia (July 22); Clay Aiken (July 29); Jessica Simpson (Aug. 5); and Keith Urban (Aug. 12). Avril Lavigne closes the series Aug. 26.

There are also rumors floating around that they may play live in Times Square or Bryant Park on the 20th. I'm selfishly hoping it's just a pre-taped segment, because there's NO WAY I can be in the city on the 20th. I'm leaving NYC for NH on the 8th, have the Boston concert on the 24th, and am supposed to be going back to NY for work Memorial Day weekend. I just can't see another trip back and forth in that 2 week period. Though I'll seriously be in a mighty pissy mood that day if I find out I'm missing out. Any way you can go in and catch it, Elphie, if it's for real??

GAH!
I would be able to make it if it were for real. I'll have to snoop around and find some more info! Sorry you won't be able to be there, mabel, but it might not even be true and you saw the Brooklyn Bridge concert, which was pretty special!

This is very true, Elphie! I should just be thrilled that I caught the Brooklyn Bridge show (though the fact that it was SO amazing just makes it a pisser that I'd have to miss another, similar concert!) It just kills me that I'd be so close, and yet so far away. It'd be like them having a concert in Boston Common a week after I came back to NYC.

Catching up on this thread, one of the first things I noticed was this Tiff gem 'OMFG - PAUL McCARTHY 10/14 and 10/15?? Holy SH*T!'

Pray tell, who is this Paul McCarthy chap she's so excited about?

What's the pisser, Mabs? That Hartford was shut out? I'm sure Ellie's relieved - she needed an excuse to not go anyway so not to lose face.

As for "McCarthy", well, uh, I was writing a paper on, uhh...I got nothin'. But at least I'm willing to ditch a full week of school (...or social assistance-hood, as the case may be) to fly to NYC early to see the show, which is more than That Peroxide Non-Fan can say!

I think "Bad" would excite me more. I was listening to it again today on my way to work and wailing away. Mangled that song, but my spirit was in it...and that's what counts, right?

5 more days until Seattle! At this time on Monday, they'll probably be in the middle of their set and I'll be chilling in the ellipse. I just hope my digital camera can come in!

Of course Bad would excite me more too, but I think She's a Mystery to me is a great song. And its another new one that they haven't played on this tour yet, which is always good!

Tiff, I'm jealous you're seeing them so soon. I'm already fantasizing about MSG, which is a month away!

Have they made Zoo Station a staple for the last couple of shows? I don't think I've seen any photos of it - that one excites me deeply.

I'm off ladies. It was a long evening (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and then College Night at the Met for the new Diane Arbus exhibit that went until after midnight)

<---Extremely bitter that the wench at the door refused to give me the gift bag going in (a lovely Met bag that could totally be used on a daily basis w/ a hardcover book of Arbus' work and who knows what else) insisting that we'd get them on the way out. LIAR! Of course they were all gone by the time we left. I totally should have gone in for the food, and left getting the bags, and just gone back to catch the exhibit later. It was probably a $50 book!!! Damn.

Anyway, good night!

How was Chitty? I have reservations about seeing the show. I mean, an old-fashion musical about a car?

Why did the wench at the door not give you a gift bag beforehand if she already had them?? SH*Tty! What book is it? I'd be more keen on the Met bag. re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates! Is it a nice cloth one, or one of their nicer gift bags, or is it the paper one?

And did you say "food" somewhere?

How come Paul McCartney's NYC tickets STILL haven't been posted yet? It's getting retarded! If they haven't posted it by tomorrow, then likely the tickets will go onsale next weekend. re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates! My fingers are crossed for $50-$60 cheap seats.

Chitty was actually kind of fun. I'd never seen the movie, and I think it would have been quite the trip if I had (reliving old childhood memories...with Raul no less!) But, for $20 (last row in the balcony) it was worth it for the spectacle, happy go lucky music, and some pretty good performances (Raul, Marc, Jan Maxwell, etc)

I couldn't see exactly what the book was, but I'd imagine it was a book of Diane Arbus' photography (since it was for her retrospective of work at the Met). All I know was it was good sized, hard cover, pristine in plastic.

Oh, and the bag was actually pretty cute. It wasn't a paper bag, but kind of like a quality version of the bags that they give you in the gift shop. It was red w/ Met Museum written in white all over it...kind of vinyl material (it was like this bag I bought at the Bway Flea Market last year). re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!

That's cool that they did "Mystery" again....I was psyched to hear that in Brooklyn. Honestly, though, I hope at least one of us gets to hear Bad on this tour--I'd go seriously apesh!t.

Bf surprised me w/ Elton John tix, so the concert mania is continuing....obviously won't be anything like U2 or the Wiggles (I'm barely kidding--that show was freaking insane--U2 fans have nothing on the 2 year-olds), but I am excited to see Sir Elton and his toupee live.

Mabel, I got the same note from ebay. I forwarded it to the guy selling the CD and he basically said, don't worry about ebay's ignorance, of course I'm still sending it.....so we'll see. I should have had it a week ago and it still isn't here, but considering it was practically free??

Haven't been on much this week....one of my family's doggies is in kidney failure and I am the designated bad guy who gives her sub-cutaneous fluid injections so I'm not online as muchre: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates! Think happy thoughts for a VERY cute doggie named Gracie!!

Groupie, I sent an e-mail to that eBay seller, and he said that he'd still be sending them out. I'd love to get my AnaheimI show, but if he doesn't send it, I'm sure I can do a straight up trade for it. Oh, and if he doesn't send them out, I DO have your show on CD, so you'll be able to get it one way or another!

Oh yeah...The Wiggles?!?!? I feel for ya! The little boy that I watched a couple of times over the winter break is a Wiggles fanatic. If I heard Play Your Guitar w/ Murray one more time, I thought I was going to scratch my eyes out!!!

Have a blast seeing Elton John (when's that?) and I'll be keeping good thoughts for Gracie (and your for being up to the task of playing the bad guy!)

Where are you going to Elton? LA or LV? *jealous* I think it'd be a toss-up between which I'd rather see - Elton or Paul. Very torn. Not that it matters because Paul is in my vicinity and Elton isn't.

Oh well, U2 on Monday! re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!

I have to admit, if I had heavily discounted or free tickets, I'd agree to go see Celine in LV, just for the experience...Of watching a fellow Canadian thump her chest and bust my eardrums. I'd love to see Elton though.

And did I mention U2 on Monday? Did I?
