Green Day is actually Sunday...I made a boo boo. But still, woohoo! I can notwait. I plan on pushing my way right to the front, where BJ will lay eyes on me, ditch his wife, and we will run away together. *sigh*

Ever been to Atlantic City? Any tips?
U2 on Monday? Yeah well...I'm seeing them in October...so there! re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!

Oooh, exciting Tiff! Is that Seattle I or II??

It'd be a tough call between Elton and Paul. I'm opting for Paul this time around since I had to bump Elton in favor of U2 the day they both went on sale. I saw him from mere feet away, so I feel like I've had my Elton moment, and I'm cool w/ that. It was great fun though! Still haven't seen Paul up on TB though. Boston was up last time I checked ($50 seats...I wonder what's up w/ those few that are in the hundreds for lowest priced tix???)

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

Seattle II. When I bought them, I was disappointed it wasn't Seattle I, but the set lists for the second night seem to be better. Go figure.

When did you see Elton from mere feet away?? And when are those goddamn Paul tickets going on sale? Do you think the purchasing will be as maddening as U2?

Ellie, Atlantic City is lame, especially if you're not legal. The only advice I can give is to check out the boardwalk. It's their big thing. Maybe you can hide at the corner of the video poker section?

*ahem* *says loudly and monotone* Wow. You sure are lucky seeing U2 once in October! That's...33% of the number of times Mabel and I are seeing them. We'll let you know how Saturday compares. *giggle*

Ooooh, I think you'll end up being much better off w/ Seattle II. It seems like the sound's always better on the second night (seemed like a lot of problems last night in Denver) and the setlists seem a bit more shaken up. I'd think you've got a much better shot at hearing Bad (or at least something out of the ordinary) at your show.

I saw Elton my senior year in high school w/ my mom. We got tix the day of the concert, and they were like AA, Section 3 on the floor ($72!!!) We were thinking they'll either be way in the back on the floor, like a big block in front being section 1, then a middle section, and the back being 3, so needless to say, we were more than a bit freaked when we were escorted down to the VERY front row. It was totally surreal. We were running a bit late (there was no opening act) and he'd just started playing a piano intro w/ the lights all off. So we go walking past all these people in the dark w/ the usher and the flashlight and the whole nine yards. As if being in the front row wasn't enough, we were on the left side, RIGHT in front of the piano. It was crazy!!! I wore my Aida had and he even pointed at me and waved at one point! Woohoo!!!

That sounds amazing, Mabel. How could you top that?

And Tiff, I do plan on checking out the boardwalk. I want to sit on a bench, and gaze at the pink skies, looking forlorn. And if I'm lucky, I might even see a happy geri couple.

Twas amazing Ellie. It'd be fun to catch him again sometime, but I've already had my Elton experience (and I saw him w/ Billy Joel a couple years ago...nosebleeds, and a bit of a disappointment all around). So, it's Paul all the way!

I wish Green Day would play in New York. Jerks! Oh well, I need another concert to buy tickets to like a hole in the head, so it's probably just as well.

Oh my god, Mabel! That sounds AMAZING1 I wouldn't go to an Elton show after THAT because nothing could beat it!

I can see why Paul is higher on the list then. Well, I'll say Paul's higher on my list too, because a) I'm a loyal and true fan; and b) I have no plans to go to Vegas any time soon, so it's Paul or bust!

Does he sing Beatles songs--AT HIS SOLO CONCERTS?? No cracks from Ellie about, "Why would he sing Beatles songs? He's from WINGS!"

Does he sing Beatles songs???

Are you thick, woman??? Didn't you see the mass media coverage of his last tour? He sings about thirty Beatles songs, inducing mass orgasm. A true fan, are you?? Pah.

Meh. Lennon was the heart and soul of the Beatles. I'd catch Paul if I could, but aside from the news when you won the auction to buy Heather's old leg, I haven't followed him that closely.

*shrugs*

What a loser you are. I think it has been proved beyond a shadow of a doubt who the truer Beatles fan is. A proper Beatles fan would never just casually write off Sir McCartney like that. Never!

Really though, I saw Paul in 2002, when I was but a mere slip of a girl, and it was amazing. He did several Beatles songs, and the crowd absolutely lapped it up. The atmosphere was incredible - some saddos were even crying.

<------ is a PROPER fan

Yes I did. Still feel like SH*T though. I think the worst part is the retrospect, when you think of all the additional things you COULD have and SHOULD have said to him but didn't think of it till later. The whole situation just pisses me off. I can't even focus today, just from thinking about it. It just wasn't the right time of year for him to F*CK with me. re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!

Why are you stressing so much? He's too much of an asshole to let it bother you that much. So he called you a few names, big whup. You'd be more upset if someone you actually respected (like me) had attacked you. Don't waste your energy.

It's not just name-calling. It's the fact that in addition to his attacks against my person, he also attacked my intellect and education, which are sore spots right now. He might as well have just called me fat and ugly, such as a coworker did last year.

Why do you care what he says about your education/intellect? Does he know you well enough for a true assessment? Just because someone says it doesn't make it true. The chap's a MORON, plain and simple.

Hi girls!

Thanks for the good-Gracie thoughts:) Poor little girlre: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates! She's a real trouper. (The sub-q shots aren't terrible, but I still feel bad doing it!)

We are 8th row way on the side for Elton at Cox Arena in SD.

Mabel, that is so cool about the Aida hat shout-out! Glad to know you have "my" show from another source in case the ebay guy doesn't follow through. yay!

Tiff and Ellie, if you both stay on your own side of the armrest, I will play BOTH John and Paul-centric tracks, but you need to play nice! Seatbelts on! That's better. Cran-grape or Cran-apple? No, it's only Thursday. No sunny-D until tomorrow!

(Oh, and btw, I don't know if they tour nationally, but there is a GREAT Beatles tribute band called The Fab Four that I have seen 2x....took my parents a few years ago and my mom and I were girlie-screaming at their "George" (hot in a Crudup-ish way!!!). And my MOM got her ass grabbed (not by the band)! They do sets from each era w/ accompanying costume changes.)

That Heather's leg comment almost made me spit diet coke all over the keyboard. Too funny.

Oooh, hot faux George who's Crudup-esque!!! *swoon* I don't care if he turned out to be an ass, I still saw him in his underwear from 5 feet away, and I shall always have a soft spot for Billy!

Oh and Tiff, Paul sang approx. 20 Beatles songs on the last tour!!! Definitely good times!

I hear ya. It was defintiely a Greatest Hits type of show, but hell, that's the way I'd want it. If I'm only going to see a Beatle once (maybe twice) I want to hear the classics, and I did! Come on...who wants to see McCartney and not hear Yesterday?!?!?

Setlist from my show:
Hello, Goodbye
Jet
All My Loving
Getting Better
Coming Up
Let Me Roll It
Lonely Road
Driving Rain
Your Loving Flame
Blackbird
Every Night
We Can Work it Out
You Never Give Me Your Money
Fool on the Hill
Here Today
Something
Eleanor Rigby
Michelle
Disc Two
Here, There, Everywhere
Band on the Run
Back in the USSR
Maybe I’m Amazed
Let ‘Em In
My Love
Can’t Buy Me Love
Freedom
Live and Let Die
Let it Be
Hey Jude
Long and Winding Road
Lady Madonna
I Saw Her Standing There
Yesterday
Sgt. Pepper/The End

Hartford (September 27, 2002). I can't believe he played so many songs period! He played as many Beatles songs as U2's been playing total. Sad, boys...very sad!

Oh, I knew there was something else music related I was going to post here. My mom called me tonight and told me that Steven Tyler was at the new little French Bistro in our rinky-dink little town in NH!!! I guess he's got a house the next town over, but I can't imagine going out to eat in our little "village" (literally, it's like 10,000 people!) and having Steven Tyler in there. It's the craziest little place too. It's set up in a train caboose...there are probably only like 10 tables in the whole joint!
