Oh, I wish Boston were a smidge closer. I'd feel so bad if I had to drag my mom all the way to Boston (AGAIN) only to come up empty handed! Figures, I got the call from West Point a couple days ago saying I'm good to go for a start on June 1st, which means I have to ship out this coming weekend, so of course someone posts a pair of $60 tix for sale for the 28th show on interference. *sigh* I'm peeking in on the Philly show, hoping they don't play Bad (maybe that'd increase my odds???) I'm reaching here!!! I'm sure they'll do it in Philly tonight though.
ETA: They did With or Without You tonight *sigh*
No Bad tonight!!! It was the shortest show thus far (from what I gather on interference). Now I'm going to have it in the back of my mind that I just might have a good shot at hearing Bad (I mean they haven't done it since NJII last Wed...so, maybe?!?!) IF they do play it, I'll call you Elphie!

Don't get your hopes up, Mabel! A pessimist is never disappointed.
Oh Ellie! A girl after my own heart...that does tend to be my motto. I don't know what's up w/ me. I'm not quite sure this optimistic thing suits me. So yeah, I'll probably get a 19 song set w/ Vertigo x2 (becuase really, it's totally necessary to have gone to 1 1/2 concerts and hear one so-so song 4 times!)...Yeah, pessimism is totally the way to go!

Maybe you'll even get Bono's understudy, Paddy Flynn.
Pessimism rocks.
*sigh* I just spent 2 hours listening to the crappiest radio station EVER trying to win a pair of floor seats. They would get a caller, talk to her (all three were women) and then go to the phone lines and if 4 out of 7 people said you deserved the tix, you'd get them. The first chick got them, they hung up on the second one saying the callers would tear her apart (the first words out of her mouth were "well, I'm not a very big U2 fan.") and the 3rd one was all "I'm their biggest fan ever," but she couldn't come up w/ a single song that she liked. Then, while I was calling to bitch her out, the phone started ringing, and they said they were taking a new caller *cue me freaking out!* but they picked up on some random guy and just gave him the tix! BOOOO!!!
*off to try packing, listening to WBOS (they're giving away four pairs of tix every day this week, and all the winners are put into a lottery for a trip to Dublin to see them!!!)*
*hugs thread* You guys did MUCH better than those sad Bitches did! I've got so many pages to get caught up on! *happy dance* I'll be back in a few. I wanna read about NYC!
Also, I'm in the process of downloading Seattle 2 from an Italian site. Is that the only recording available? Nifty CD case covers! Oh, and Vertigo 2 on recording doesn't do justice to how freakin' crazy the crowd went when it started. It was madness. I dont' know how the cheers didn't drown out the opening on that recording.
We MUST get caught up tonight!
Well, do read the past few pages to get caught up, but I'll get you up to speed...
-Elphie sent me your show, and I'm totally jealous! You had one hell of a show!!!
-It's a good thing you didn't end up going to Vancouver I (they did the exact same set as Seattle II, except they did 40 instead of Vertigo2)...not that it'd be a bad thing to see that show twice, but at least it's not like it was a crazy amazing show (check out ChicagoIV!!!)
-I tried (to no avail to get into a Coldplay buzz gig in Boston a week or so ago)...twas a pisser.
-Elphie won tix to an MTV Coldplay concert and I swung to NYC to join her (we were the first people to hear X&Y and saw the band in a mini concert w/ less than 100 people).
-Elphie and I also saw The Pillowman and have now fallen head over heels for Billy Crudup.
-I'm going to see the lads tomorrow, and I have convinced myself that they may do Bad, and Ellie has warned me that it's probably less than wise to get my hopes up *sigh* she's right.
That's probably about it. I'll probably be around a bit later...I'm not really sure. I have to start seriously packing to go back to New York (just found out that my West Point job did work out...YAY FOR $$$) and I'll be shipping back out sometime this weekend.
TIFF, YOU'RE BACK! How was Europe? You'll have to tell us all about your trip.
Mabel, good luck winning tickets! Which show are they giving them away for? And it's good not to get your hopes up for Bad, because then you'll be floored if they actually do play it! 1 more day!!!

Welcome back, Tiff. I suppose. Deported from Europe, were you? Never allowed show your face again, are you? I was wondering why the weather was so gloomy the past couple of days...now I know why.
And yay for $$$, Mabel! (Can I have some? )
Nope...no sharing for me ...Maybe I'll buy you a drink in October!
Woohoo for all the radio stations in Boston going U2 crazy. Saturday had U2 A-U (why not Z??) on w/ bunches and bunches of songs in alphabetical order, and now I'm listening to a series of interviews from The Joshua Tree era w/ live performances...pity it doesn't come in well enough to tape.
My throat is closing up from phlegm and jealousy towards Mabel and Elphie. You whores. A bit o' Bono, a bit o' Chris...greedy bitches.
Define "deported", Ellie. I left voluntarily.
After Interpol found me.
(Oh yeah, and I'll respond to your desperate pleas for attention via PM later. Lord knows I've got lots to catch up on!)
By the way, I've seen precious little discussion on The Rejected Girl from Van 1. There's an .mp4 video available and my computer's not letting me play it (I think because I don't have QuickTime), but according to the Interferencers, it's unbearably uncomfortable. You're actually ashamed for the girl, if not for the fact that she tried to molest Bono during Yahweh.
Er...that's my way of telling you guys...I wasn't really in Europe. I was actually that girl. Sowwy.

*excuse the sudden intrusion on this thread*
TIFF! WHY AREN'T YOU ON AIM? clearly the cold medicine has not knocked you out, so you have NO EXCUSES!
I am on AIM.
*eyes Blocked List*
I mean...I'm...not.
*has narcoleptic fit*
...zzzzz...
Wow! Tiff, you were (I mean *she* was) all over him. That's a good reason not to pull people on-stage; ya never know what kind of whackos you might get.
Was that the chick that was man-handling him, and he had to say "Hey, you're not allowed to do that!" (or something)...and she was briskly escorted off the stage?!?!
Yeah, Coldplay was pretty amazing! Gotta love being inches away!!!
Sorry to interrupt, but Mabel, you mean to say that tickets are released for every show on the actual day? Maybe there is some hope yet. I'm still fuming over my lack of tickets. It seems like everybody on earth is going to a U2 show, but me.
Yep, tickets are released the day of the show. You can check TicketMaster or wait in line at the box office; they've been releasing a lot. Good luck! Where did you want to see them?
Oh, and Tiff, you might even be able to see Mabel and me on tv (hopefully not making fools of ourselves) because the Coldplay concert is airing on mtv.
From what I gather, you may have a bit more luck at the box office on the day of. It seems like it's kind of touch and go w/ TM, and you never know if there'll only be singles that pop up and you never know when they'll pop up(though it never hurts to look!) Good luck!!
Thanks! Now my hopes are back up. What were you saying earlier about pessimists never being disappointed?
Ebay is another option, I suppose - but who has that kind of money? Not me.
It's always worth checking on eBay periodically. Depending on where you're seeing them, you may come across a deal. I have no idea why, but Chicago seemed to have TONS of tix available dirt cheap. I saw a pair go w/o bids for $75! Also, you may want to check out u2tours.com (the forum has people trading and selling tix for face) and interference.com (if you go to the Vertigo Tour section look for "What do you Have?" People sell and trade tix there as well. People often have stuff to sell as the shows near (people who either managed to score better seats or who bought tix for a city that they simply can't travel to). Or your can post a ticket request on the "What do you Want?" thread. Keep poking around. I'm sure something will pop up!
You're too helpful, Mabel. Thanks. (I'd do a smiley face, but I haven't quite progressed that far yet!) :)
Oh, it's my pleasure!
Also, if you do happen to go the eBay route, be sure to buy from someone who sells tix a lot (check their history) and only buy from people who have 99-100% feedback. You never know if it's someone out there trying to scam you! Oh, and a good rule of thumb is to buy hard tix whenever possible (if you're buying anywhere other than on TM or at the box office). Ticketfast tix can be e-mailed over and over again. Use your discretion...Elphie bought a ticketfast ticket, and it turned out just fine (but she also met up w/ the seller before the show, so that would pretty much assure you that they're on the up and up!)
ETA: If you look at the guidelines page at the top of the forum listings, you'll find all the differnt smilies you can make (I didn't know that until last weekend!...I'd just been getting by w/ the ,
, and
that I already knew...who knew there were so many fun options!!!)
