Doesn't your friend know the opportunity before her??? U2 live!!! Bailing??? Look at poor Jezebel - she/he'd love a ticket, and your friend....*splutter*...BAILING?

Ooh, Ellie discovered another smilie!
Okay, I'm heading out now, so if I don't catch you before you leave tomorrow, HAVE A GREAT TIME, MABEL!!! I'll be following the setlist and wishing I were there.
Well, we shall see what happens. I'm sure she'll end up calling. I was just talking to my mom, and she said she hopes she doesn't call back! Naughty, naughty!
Night, Elphie!!! I'll be bringing my camera, so I'll have bunches of crappy, blurry shots from afar!

'Night, Elphie!
Mabel, ditch your friend and bring your Mom. She sounds more worthy! And it will make up for missing Paul McCartney!
Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom!
Well, shall be interesting...I'll call her again tomorrow afternoon, and if I haven't heard back from her by the time my mom gets home from work, looks like I'll have a new show buddy! I must say, I'm doing a fine job of converting my mom! Tonight she picked out some random live song they were playing on the radio as Bono before I did (it was some song he did w/ Keith Richards)!! Good going mom!
DAMMIT!!! Bono's going to be at Barnes & Nobel in Boston signing copies of that new "Conversatiosn w/ Bono" book. I guess he's only signing for the first 150 people, and considering the fact that it'd take me an hour+ to get there and they just announced it on the radio, I'm betting there'd be more than 150 people there by the time I made it to Boston. *sigh* I don't think I'm going to bother bringing my Joshua Tree album w/ me either. It's pouring out, and I don't want to risk getting it tainted in any way (besides, if Miss I Think I'll Take in Inopportune Moment to Drop Off the Face of the Earth doesn't call back, I won't be getting to Boston until 6 or 7 anyway). We all know I'm not driving myself down there (or even to Lowell to take the T!!)
Only several more hours (sever sounds like less than many, which it really is!)!!! YAY!!!
Aw, sorry you missed the B&N signing. Probably would have been a mobscene, anyway. In about 6 more hours you'll be seeing them perform!

Have a fab time, mabel! Don't worry about missing the signing - I'll introduce you to Bono after we're married, I'm sure he'll sign your CD then.
Green Day's coming to Vancouver in September!
Too bad I'll be homeless, broke and uneducated at that point.
Right now Mab's priming herself up for Kings of Leon. Lucky girl...*cough*
I just happened upon the BWW Members Award thread. No fair! After a full year of nearly naked men, a severed penis, Pee Wee, Nick Nolte, Jocelyn and Jacko, I leave for 3 weeks and keep a clean (albeit poor-quality) avatar of Bono and THAT'S what people have to base their votes on?
I want a new campaign!

Aha! So you admit it was a severed penis!
Whore.
I still maintain that it was BACTERIA that LOOKED like a severed penis, but I know that three-syllable words are too difficult for the likes of you, so I made it simple.
And by the way, my mouth has just gone dry. And I feel a bit warm.
Bono and Adam should kiss more.

Meh, you still lost, and deservedly so. I certainly didn't vote for you. Loser.
I can't see any pics in that link! Was it a full-on frenchie? Did they become aroused?
There's only a photo of the boys AFTER the kiss. Goddamn slackers. 20,000 people and not a SINGLE photo?? Apparently it was a quick kiss, but there was a longer one in San Jose or something. And I don't know if they were aroused, but I sure am. Sha-wiiiing!
Oh Mabs. Mabs, Mabs, Mabs...I hope they kiss at your concert too.

Bono and Larry would be even hotter.
BTW, when are we going to hear all about l'Europe?!
You probably don't want to relay every minute detail, so a brief summary will do - at least tell me what shows you saw in London!
*sniffle* Will you lose interest as quickly as you hoes lost interest in my Seattle 2 recount?
*sob*
By the way, did I tell you about the busload of Italian soccer players? I've been telling everyone.

I believe you said it was your 'wetdream come true'. See, I do pay attention!
I'm off out to see Monster-In-Law in ten minutes or so, so I guess your European tales of brothels and drug-dens will have to wait. But you had a fab time, right? Did you consider Blood Brothers?

Okay, don't tell me.
What's Mabel listening to now, I wonder...what time do 'the boys' come on?
And has anyone seen Monster-In-Law? I love Jane Fonda, so I hope 'twill be swell! Bye!
I saw Monster in Law, it wasn't bad. Predictible but cute.
The boys should be going on in approximately the next fifteen minutes. I wish I were there.
They should be finishing their encore in the next 10 minutes. I haven't checked the setlist party yet. Just got home from dinner. *fingers crossed that Mabs gets the Gloria/Ocen combo* Actually, she wanted An Cat, didn't she??
BTW, has anyone noticed a significant surge in young posters on the board lately??

I'm back. The concert was amazing (despite the fact that it was a pretty lack-luster, not that that's really possible, setlist) Seriously, you can't drop NYD, An Cat/ItH, and Original and just replace ALL of them w/ The Ocean!!! I was convinced they were going to come back out after 40 to do SOMETHING (Vertigo2, Out of Control...SOMETHING...alas, nothing!)
My friend had A BLAST! I guess she's had some pretty crazy SH*T going on the past month or so, so I guess that's why she's been kind of aloof lately (responding to emails/calls, etc) But, I believe she described the show as "orgasmic," so that's always a good thing!
I took some pix...nothing great. If I can figure out how to post them, I will. The lights were great from where we were...just amazing! We were straight across the arena in the LAST row, but it still kicked ass (and wasn't that terrible a view at all). It gets to the point, where if you're going to be in the back, you might as well be in the last row, so you can bouce around all you want and not have to worry about disturbing anyone else (and the fact that we could sit on the back of the seats and lean against the wall for a mini-break on the occasional less than thrilling song *cough* Miracle Drug *cough* was an added bonus!)
I'd say my biggest complaint was replacing An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart w/ The Ocean. TO isn't a favorite, and it's only like 1:30 long...it's like an extended snippet! Besides, I rather like An Cat! Electric Co. rocked though!!! The Ocean threw me for a loop though...I was like WTF? Are they going to sing Gloria too?!?!? Nope!
We didn't try for autographs or anything. I brought the little book that came w/ the boxed set thing for HTDAAB and my Joshua Tree CD insert (didn't want to bring the LP out in the rain), but it was just plain nasty in Boston. Cold, raw, windy, and rainy...not worth meandering around trying to find them (when they likely wouldn't come out for long, if at all, in such SH*Tty weather.
Guess that's about it for now...I got a pin and a One bracelet. There were a couple different shirts that I kind of liked (a blue/green one in particular that my friend ended up buying) but I passed. Maybe in October.
Later, folks!
How was the crowd? Yeah, bummer on no NYD/An Cat/ItH and Original...I'm not a fan of The Ocean either, myself. But you got the Vertigo/Stories for Boys combo! How did it sound? And you got Yahweh! And 40!
Which pin did you get? They freakin' sold out of them quickly in Seattle, so I had to settle for just the One bracelet, which I think has stretched a lot. (Either that, or it's HUGE.) I'll have to buy a new one at MSG!
