mabel, thanks for the link. It's good to know we'll see where all our hard earned cash is going to! (And it ain't scalpers! Whee!!)

Ellie, yes, I believe so. And pookie pie, please keep an eye on the U2 sites. You very well may find a ticket for MSG!

But I'm kinda pinning my hopes on the second leg of the tour...
if that does happen. Did you see Edge accepting their Grammy? I guess his daughter really is sick.

Yeah, I saw that. re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!

Wasn't it a great Grammys though? Not U2's best performance, but definitely better than that Telemundo JLo/MAnth tripe!

And Larry also apologized to the fanclub members over the ticket screw-up...that was nice. And hell yeah U2 were better that that trollop from the block and her chihuahua-faced husband!

Now that you mention it, he DOES look like a chihuahua, however his skin tone is more similar to a shar pei.

Ahhh, the deep, insightful conversations I miss out on while I'm off at class! Poor hubby...a shar pei?!?!?

And Ellie, I've been hoping against hope for a return visit to NY on the third leg of the tour as well (I REALLY want GAs in NY!!!). I hope all is well w/ Edge's daughter. You'd think things must be progressing well if they're going on tour (though I'm not sure what was up w/ Larry's "We nearly weren't able to tour w/ this album, and we almost weren't able to perform tonight" was all about. Tonight?!?! Why wouldn't they have been able to perform on the Grammys? Hmmm...I don't know, guess we shall just wait and see.

And I think he's in court hoping for a ruling which prevents the media from even mentioning his daughter. I hope she gets better soon! Not for our sake, but for her own.

Absolutely Ellie!!! I actually think I saw somewhere that they may have settled in court...This is what happens when I have a ton of boring stuff to read for school. IE: I meander around on-line wasting time, finding out random stuff like "The Magical Mystery Tour" set up and Edge's court status. I have no life...sigh...Actually, I just don't have the will power to hunker down and read about jounalistic ethics and the theory behind small group discussion while my computer is sitting right there, begging me to piss away hours on-line. I should work on that! Must have discipline!!!

So listen up gals, boys, chihuahuas -

Should I bid for MSG tickets on eBay, or wait patiently for an announcement about the next leg, which may never come?

What section are the tickets and how much are they, relative to the face value? And what's the seller's feedback?

Oh, I haven't actually investigated yet - I've just been patiently waiting for October shows to be announced...but time is running out...re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!

Go and investigate. I say if the price of the scalped ticket is under 15% higher than the face value, you might as well go for it. Who knows if October will happen, plus how cool would it be to attend the very first MSG show of the first run?

PS. El, pookie, there's no need to make Medusa your avatar. Your real photo has the same effect.

I really think they'll be back in the fall, so if you're sure you'll be able to go whenever they could possibly schedule dates in the fall, I might wait if I were you. That's just because I wouldn't be able to afford E-Bay. You still have time.

I think I'll wait a teensy bit longer then...'but if there's still no announcement a month before the show - eBay, here I come!! But what if the sellers start charging even more exorbitant prices then...re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates! re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates! re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!.....re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!

I don't know, Ellie, its a really tough call! I'm sorry! Here's what Larry said in his letter:
"I am now in the process of figuring out a way of distributing the tickets for our intended return to North America in the fall."
So it really sounds like they plan on coming back. And there would be no way they would skip MSG, especially because they're only having one spring show there. But I know you must be anxious. re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!

I would imagine that (assuming that the 3rd leg is still a go, which unless things are really bad w/ Edge's daughter or some other unforseeable event occurs) they will still be good to go for the fall w/ several dates in NY to make up for the severe lack of shows this spring. But, with that being said, from everything I've read online, it sounds like they aren't expected to announce dates until the 1st leg is over. I guess that's what the deal was last time around w/ the Elevation tour. So, I'm guessing the dates won't be announced until the summer sometime. I guess if there's a ticket at a quasi-reasonable price (from a seller w/ good feedback) you might want to splurge and go for it, just to be sure (then again, since there are SO many scalpers selling, you may have just as good a chance getting tix right before the show). I realize it's really frustrating not to have tix in hand. If I hadn't lucked out, I'd be freaking out wondering about a return visit in the fall...Hell, I've got tix and I'm getting antsy about it, because I'd love to see them at MSG too!

Ellie, I just checked eBay, and someone's selling a ticket (or two?) in section 409 for like US$50. Of course, this is just the starting bid and it will likely rise a lot (there's still 5 days left) but you should keep an eye on it and see if it'll be affordable for you! Go onto ebay.com and type in "U2 Madison Square Garden". You'll find it. It's the cheapest one listed by a long shot.

Not to rub salt in the wound Ellie re: (Unofficial) U2 World Tour Dates!, but since this has been bumped up...The tour starts in about a month! For those of us lucky enough to have snagged tix, any songs that you're DYING to hear/any that you hope will be left off the set list? I'm hoping for "Fast Cars" (probably my favorite off HTDAAB, but I'm thinking the chances of them doing it are slim to none) and "Sunday Bloody Sunday" (classic song, and I want to hear it live!). I think I'll cry if they I have to sit through "The Hands That Built America!" Please, PLEASE don't do that song!

Ones That Will Make Me Cry With Excitement:
I Will Follow
Sunday Blood Sunday
With Or Without You
Where The Streets Have No Name (Can you tell I like their early '80s stuff?)
Unchained Melody (Do you have the B-Sides? My god.)
Vertigo - not because it's one of their better songs, but because they'll probably open with it, and that will be the point where I wet myself.

(Oh, and if I was at MSG, I'd want to hear New York. Duh.)

Ones That I Can Live Without:
Discotheque (I would even rather The Hands That Build America over it!)
Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own (I know, I know, it's his Dad's song, but I was kinda underwhelmed by the Grammy perf.)

One and Bad are my two absolute faves, so I'd love to hear those. And With or Without You.
I'm sure they'll do SYCMIOYO and Vertigo a lot.

Excellent picks Tiff...I would think there's a pretty high probability of you hearing most of them! They've done I Will Follow on SNL and in Brooklyn, two of the pre-tour gigs, so I'd think that bodes well for it. Have they ever not done With or Without You and/or WTSHNN??? I'm really looking forward to all of those too!...I haven't heard the official B-sides recording of Unchained Melody, but I've heard "other" versions, and it's great! Oh, and I'm totally w/ you on Vertigo. Certainly not a favorite of mine in and of itself, BUT wait until that Seattle show when you've got GA and it's the first song they rip into! It'll be NUTS!!!...I kind of like SYCMIOYO, though I wish they'd to a stripped down acoustic version of it, which I'm sure won't happen (though I'm sure the song itself will be a staple on the tour).
ETA: Bad and One too!!! Good lord, how are they going to whittle their catalog down to 20(ish) songs, especially if you figure they'll probably do 7 or 8 from HTDAAB!!!
