Hey! I got the bassist's autograph on the setlist I tore from the stage after the MTV thing...Guy...something. Even his name is kind of sad and generic! How tragic for him!
Guy Berryman, right? Maybe he and Apple can bond over their shared connection with fruit (if his last name really is Berryman) and their bitterness towards Chris Martin if Martin ends up leaving the band behind (Berryman will have been ditched by Martin, Apple will have to live with that name forever).

Ah yes, Berryman...Berryman, Buckland...I had them all sorted out when we were there! And it certainly not likely that I'd be able to decipher what he scrawled on that setlist as Guy Berryman!
I've listened to X&Y twice today. It's growing on me a bit, but I still don't think it's worthy of the fanaticism that the media generated for it.
Anyway, sounds like it's just you and me, Elphie, on the "Yeah, I like Coldplay" front. I think the VH1 Storytellers thing is on tonight, btw.

Oops, sorry! I'm back, kids! Had to make myself a lunch.
And #1, I just sent you an e-mail. I didn't get around to downloading the second half until today, and I, uh, sort of forgot about the 7 day expiration. And might I add that you're a generous and wonderful person?
Oh, by the way, I'll have everyone know that #1 gave me an e-mail address that shows her real full name, Ellie.
Hee...Apple and Berryman. Doesn't that make Chris's daughter Apple Martin I?
I just don't think they help their cause releasing singles like "Speed of Sound" and going on and on about being poised to step in as "The Biggest Band in the World." I suppose they could become the biggest band in the world (doesn't necessarily have any direct link to quality...though I REALLY don't think they're as bad as The Times, Namo, et al have made them out to be). Didn't X&Y sell something like 150,000 yesterday? And SOS was the first Brit single to break the Billboard top 10 since Hey Jude (CRAZY!!!)

Sounds very Irish. And by that, I mean phonetically it sounds like a drunkard slurring his speech.
Yeah, I heard the album did really well yesterday. And when I went to WalMart yesterday at noon it was already sold out (I had to go to BestBuy), so that's a good sign. I like them even if there are those that disagree.
And Tiff, I'll start loading the second half on yousendit again. Did you get all the first half?
Yes, I got the first half and it sounds great! This whole lossless thing confuses me though. What you said in the e-mail makes sense about it being on .wav to prevent it from having generation loss - why do some tapers not want people to make it lossless? Does .mp3 have the same effect?
<-- computer retarded
Most tapers don't want it converted to mp3 because then the quality decreases. They want to keep it lossless by maintaining it in the original format. I don't know, I'm no expert, that's just what I've gathered.
Oh, I see. How does the quality decrease? And why would people want it in .mp3 anyway? Don't .mp3 players play other formats?
I don't know...I think mp3s are easier to download. The size of the file decreases or something? Which takes away from the sound quality? I'm not the person you should be interrogating about it! I think there's a thread on Interferece that explains it all.
Yeah, but they use big words like "lossless" and "formatting" and stuff and I get confused.
Yeah, I know zilch about downloading things, other than I downloaded one show and it frigged up my computer, and avoid MP3 shows like the plague if you actually want to trade w/ people. Hard-core traders seem to get pretty uppity about that.
Elphie, you haven't happened to download a copy of 5/26 have you? From what I gather, there's only a crappy version out there, which is a shame...I'm sure more will surface sometime down the road though.
Nope, Mabel, I haven't. I was going to download it and send it to you with MSG but then you said that you were getting it from someone else, so I didn't bother. I can download it if you want me to, though, it's no problem for me. I know I still have to send you MSG, by the way; I'll do that soon, I promise! (I was waiting 'til the Coldplay concert aired so I could send you a dvd of that, and I've been trying to score a recording of The Killers @ Summerstage that I would also throw in there, but that doesn't look promising). Anyway, if you want Boston, I can download whatever version I can find of that, just let me know. Oh, and PM me your address.
ETA: Does anyone know any general music-trading websites or something like that where I might be more likely to find The Killers concert? Besides The Trader's Den? It doesn't seem like anything will turn up on the band's website's message board.

I saw some post somewhere today at work where someone mentioned a general music trading site (not The Trader's Den) but I didn't check it out. If I find it again and it looks like it's something of interest, I'll pass it along.
Oh, when you asked about 5/26, I was thinking that was your show (I just checked the dates and realized it was Boston II). Anyway, I don't have either one, but let me know if you want me to send you either (I wouldn't mind having a copy of 5/26, that was a pretty good setlist).
Mabel - just popping in to say I have your CDs ready to go, and I'll pop them in the post tomorrow! Sorry it's taken me so long. I'm not the most organized person in the world, I'm afraid.
I've got 5/26 on my computer right now. I don't mind sending it out to either of you, but it'll take a while - I just ran out of my last two discs when I burned my own copy of it!
Jez, no problem! I'm going to try to get yours out this weekend. I've copied all the Dublin shows I have to CD, so I'll just have to copy them (and a couple others) over again for you...still no luck on the ticket front??
Oh, Elphe, I found this site...I didn't see anything from your show yet, but I think it may still take a bit to surface. It may be worth a look.
Killers boots/torrents
Oooh, that'd be fab Tiff! I'd love 5/26! I didn't ask Italy for that one anyway. No hurry on getting it out. It's just nice to know that there's a possible copy out there that I don't have to finangle elsewhere. I'll poke around and get to some new stuff for you once I get Jez/groupie's stuff out this weekend.
No problemo. I might want to get Brussels, depending on if it's really Pop/Zooropa-heavy or not. Otherwise the only other ones I'd really like to get are Boston III and the apparently really-good copy of Seattle 2 that some guy recorded. (I think it's missing two of the songs though.)
No luck on the ticket front, nope. In an act of desperation I e-mailed a couple of the people trading tickets on 4throck, and asked if they would consider selling them to me. One replied saying that if he had no takers by the end of the week I could have the tickets, so you never know!
There's a canal that runs right beside Croke Park, with benches all along the waterfront. Because it's open-air, you can hear everything. If I can't get a ticket, I suppose that'll have to do! Of course, the canal is always strangely full on concert days...

That would be so lovely though! You can pack a picnic and hang out by the canal!
